Touch sensitivity problem is still on stock JB? Any solution? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have converted from yakjujp to yakju and received the 4.1.1 OTA update. Now, I'm on 4.1.1 rooted yakju.
The same problem many -including myself on both yakjujp and yakju- experienced with touch sensitivity on 4.0.4 where the screen stops being responsive and regained after pressing the home button and releasing after a few seconds. Is there any solution or workaround? Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you should read the other threads we posted on this issue, we have tons of talk about it. Still no solution.

Hold on let me create another thread with the solution on this subject. After all, xda is just a giant dumping ground for mindless f***s who can't search.

i havent had that problem since 4.0.4.

I still wonder why someone who does not like a topic or a question but still leaves a comment? It's easy, you don't like it just ignore it and don't waste your precious time on reading such mindless topics, except some life impotence must have its effect on people on every possible aspect of life. So I feel sorry for you!

No its not that. When an issue has already been discussed in depth with all the good answers and relevant info, you're never gonna get all those good answers in a new thread. People just won't post their answers again so you miss all the good stuff by starting a new thread. Its for your own benefit to get the most answers possible. People aren't gonna post their details again, so you're missing out. Use the existing thread and you get the complete picture on your desired topic.

In before the lock!

There is your way of explaining it, and there is another one that's offensive and for no reason. Thanks anyway!

Rooting 2.2?

Sorry, I am always so confused in trying to Navigate XDA. I have searched, with no luck.
Are users who previously were not rooted and installed 2.2 able to root via any method? link would be great.
I know all the previous updates are still root able via Unrevoked, but I haven't seen any news since 2.2.
thanks.
Nope.

Common theme is no one searches
My search term used "rooting froyo"
I also found TONS of threads just on the first page alone of almost every section o this forum... all asking the same question.
I guess if you can't navigate a forums search you probably wont be able to root either .... searching is pretty simple
We need a sticky to answer this question. It gets asked a lot, there's a glut of redundant threads piling up.
Why does everyone have to be a first class jerk? Ok, he didn't find a topic. If you don't live on message boards these can be very confusing to look at especially the vBulliten ones like this one is. It's hard to find things and frustrating to search. Everyone is spending so much time trying to be the cool kid that people have forgotten the simple things. If you are pissed because someone is asking the same thing, then don't enter the topic. Continue to stay in the threads that you were in to begin with, because your uber-coolness is useless anyway as you never answer the thread. I can't believe how offended that one guy was who had put in tons of links in his thread. How long did it take you to search then copy and past 4 different links? Going back and forth between screens and offering nothing useful to the topic. Those messages should be deleted, not the ones who are just asking honest questions. Call it what you want, laziness, stupidity, whatever, someone asked a question, answer it as best you can or move on.
****!
Anyway, onto my question, Froyo is a giant waste of time and energy. My battery is dying and my Evo specific piano key sounds for volume up and down have been replaced by generic Android volume sounds. How do I get my sweet piano keys back?

Actually I have rooted three Evos. One from original launch software and two after having the June update.
I am running as much customization on mine as anyone, custom rom, removed multiple system apps, replaced splash and boot, switched task bar, modified system icons, hacked swype app and lots of other stuff. Actually I am a top member on AF forums but honestly XDA is really confusing to me. I can't tell which threads are sticky, which are wiki, which are guides, shoot I can't even figure out where the regular forum is.
But thanks for your extensive help Dbag.

Thank you Foxhound. On my home forum (Androidforums) users that reply like these guys are handled with a "special touch". But I guess on XDA, or at least on this particular thread - no one gives a crap about infringement, negative comments or blatant obnoxiousness. Whatev.
Yeah stock froyo sucks. I am however enjoying my Fresh 3.1.0.1, but a couple of friends would like to have it as well which is why I posted my question to begin with.
I've been all over the web and haven't found anything yet about a successful root of 2.2. I'm sure its just a matter of time. I'm going to stop looking and just resume in a couple weeks I really only want access to the wifi tether but without paying the outrageous 30 a month that sprint wants.

Sheesh,
Ok so the wiki, its in a sticky. It says "wiki" in the title, when you get there the guides are under a section called "Guides" sometimes they call them "How to's" so watch out for that. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Usually questions go in the "Q and A" forum. Oh and in the actual thread title you might see a [Q] which means question. Also there is a post at the top of each forum that says "How to use these forums" or something close to that anyway, there is lots of info in there as to how to navigate XDA. Sorry my last post wasn't helpful in navigating xda. I hope this one helps you out a little more.
Have a great day, good luck with the 2.2 root!

the problem with asking people to seach is all the threads are more than a day old, which in terms of android news is pretty antiquated.
Make a sticky or quit *****ing about people asking the same question every day. 1 day = 1 month in development time

It's not matter of level of experience, but level of stupidity. People who can't/won't/are lazy to use search and read, asking questions that were answered billions of times, asking for info that is available in sticky threads and posting "this rockz/I love you/can i have your autograph?" **** deserve to burn in BAN hell.
Users which actually do require help from senior members are only few. The rest is just lazy stupid little kids and ungrateful pigs, thinking that we are obligated to help them.
BULL****!
We already lost several great developers because of them and I'll fight them until my last breath, to slow down the process of turning this place into n00b swamp. 'Cause it's happening already, you mark my words on that.

Dude chill out man, we all start somewhere, some people have much more experience than others that doesn't make them "lazy stupid little kids and ungrateful pigs"
If you have a problem with people on the forums just leave them alone. i am in no way the most experienced guy here. i cant develop new ROMS/Apps/themes or anything to be honest. i just use what other people have made. i asked questions on how to flash a new rom when i joined the forums. i read the tutorials, does that make me a " lazy stupid little kid and an ungrateful pig"?
You read tutorials, yet you asked how to flash ROM?

To be exact i messed something up and my phone was stuck in a bootloop while flashing a ROM. And guess what, someone helped me out and got it working for me! Isn't that amazing! The wonders of people HELPING others out
I get there are loads of tutorials out there, telling people exactly what to do and if something goes wrong what they should do, but if someone ask's for help, why not reply with a helpful answer rather than being a complete prick?

Because those tutorials exist purely for the purpose of answering FAQ, so newbies don't have to ask them all the time. And yet, they still do. There is a word for that, and that word is spamming.

I think the biggest annoyance with this thread is that the OP is clearly aware of how to flash ROMs, and therefore I would assume where to find them. Therefore a very quick look at the dev forum would have shown them the ICS builds currently being developed - making this thread needless.

Does anybody freaking read or search before asking all these questions???

I consider myself a noob, I'm definitely far from even being considered a dev, and I can answer half of the questions I see on this forum from RESEARCH I've done scouting around the forums and actually reading the threads. Did anybody read the sticky about before you post??? Just sayin' come on ppl, I read these things to LEARN and I'm getting tired of having to skim through all the repetitive garbage to find something new and/or useful.

Two things come to mind:
Isn't this post a contribution to garbage posts? Really? Yet another post that I, and everyone has to "skim through" before finding the answer we are looking for?
Lighten the f*ck up. Talk about a first world problem.
Like you've never had a hard time figuring out a new forum/technology/device/community, needed basic help, been a noob. Like we ALL have. Give the noobs some help, a kind suggestion where to get an answer, an Example of how they might have used search to find the answer, perhaps a quick Constructive response on proper forum etiquette and good form.

Points taken and true
Guess I just had to blow off some steam, I was looking for a particular thread that had some answers in it that I needed and was getting frustrated, and yes I was using the search.
I do try to help where/when I can. I was going to quote everybody but if ppl read the thread they'll see that I'm replying to everyone who posted besides myself. I'm going to go get a cup of coffee to enjoy with my humble pie now....
I tried to thank all who posted but I think I reached my limit so...Thanks
I realize this may not appease yours (or others) frustration, but sometimes people ask again because other threads pertaining to the same subject have become so huge it would take hours to search for the answer. I work full time, actually right now I work full time and a half and while I do my best to seek out existing answers I will, at times, just ask and take a chance that someone will be helpful enough to answer rather than saying "just search".
If you've ever worked in tech support then you'd understand that part of the 'job' is repetition, answering the same question, giving the same advice, over and over and over again.
Yes I agree it's good for people to look around, read up on what's out there but when threads become full of back and forth chit chat (which I tend to enjoy reading lol) it makes it harder to find the answer you are looking for, especially if you are on limited time.

Actually I generally like the back and forth also, I was using the search and couldn't tell you how many results I got, then trying o filter through them all...UGH!!! I went back to it after my little rant and eventually found what I was looking for, but again...UGH!!!
Never worked in tech. support and don't want to, though one warehouse I worked at I did become the "IT" guy everybody came to before they actually put in a help ticket.
I'm self taught through the help menus and forums in all things tech that I do so I've spent countless hours on my laptop or phone at some truck stop in BFE with a crappy wifi signal that I have to pay by the hour for or very slow data connections trying to figure things out or get some fix/rom/mod/program downloaded. Or just waiting for pages to load so I can read to find out if there's an answer there for me.
and again the humble pie was deserved and probably needed, everyone should have some on occasion, I'm not above admitting that I was wrong.

Reading stickies/forum rules aside; if you're gonna ask a question that's been asked a hundred times before, why not, at the very least, revive one of the multiple dozens of threads where that question has been asked already instead of creating more useless clutter in an already irreparably cluttered board?
Hey, at least he's not asking how to root, or what's with the error after flashing CWM over official ICS
Lol. Yeah that's true.. Its funny if you go back to the sub forum there's (estimate without actually checking) probably about 5 asking what's the best ROM, or how do I root.. Meanwhile there's like 2 or 3 stickies explaining it... In the same exact page!
Um all for forum activity, and a live forum is definitely better than a dead one but come on people seriously.. I'm not trying to be a jerk and sorry if it comes off that way but I've only been a registered member for not even a year and it does get frustrating. Just try to read some posts before making a dumb one.. If you have a question its pretty much guaranteed its been answered.
The forum rules, which are actually a global announcement if I'm not mistaken; clearly state that if you're too lazy to experiment with the ROMs and find out for yourself which one is best then this isn't the right place for you.. And I wholeheartedly agree. I've only had the p930 since last November or so and I've been testing ROMs since day one and I've never once had to ask how to root or which ROM to use... That's the whole fun/enjoyment of android dev IMO.
There's my two cents. If you honestly still can't find an answer then there's probably no hope. Get a friend to mod your phone.. Lol

Look, I'm glad to have you as a part of the community; there is not one single person who shouldn't be a part of what we have here. All I'm saying is that, instead of posting a new thread to ask a question that has been thoroughly covered in multiple other threads; why not, at the very least, revive an old thread for this purpose instead of adding more clutter to an already cluttered board? It's posts like this which are the reason that there are "already so many different q/a posts."
I never said or implied that you were new to Android, and I never once said or implied that you were ignorant when it comes to Android devices. Believe me, I'm far from knowing anywhere near what I would like to know; but I guarantee you that almost every single question that has been, and will be asked on this board has already been covered multiple times; including "which rom is best". The development section has discussions covering the bugs and gremlins for every ROM released for this device via XDA. No real need to read every single page of each threads, just skim the last few pages and you'll get an idea of where the ROMs stand in their current form.
With that being said, I DO apologize for being a complete jackass and for the tone which I put across; but the sentiment remains.
Also, I have put forth an answer buried in my reply here; although it is a little verbose and requires you to do a little more leg-work to form your own opinion... which is what counts the most.
The answers you seek are on the very page you posted this in...

If you want the latest Android experience (4.22), the best all around bet is probably the unofficial PAC-ROM + Wind kernel 1.7 or 1.8. Bluetooth works pretty well, I think the only bugs are the other common CM10.1 ones- 1080p recording crashes, hitting the power button while in the camera app crashes. If you don't care about bluetooth and just want speed and battery, check out JellyBAM- it is slightly less stable than PAC but it flies.
If you are ok with ICS (4.0X) then HO!NO!'s CM9, Liquid Nitro or HO!NO!'s V20f are solid.
But in the future, search around and do a lot of research before posting a question- on most forums it annoys the members to be answering the same questions repeatedly
OP no, just try for yourself....

Let's be nice people

Been skulking here for a few days and now that I picked up my new S4 (!!!!), I'll be here alot (he said happily).
I'm noticing a lot of snottiness already.
It sure does ruin my experience seeing the trolls that cannot resist scolding people or just generally being snotty.
Let's set the tone early and all promise to be nice to each other.
An example that comes to mind are the people who can't resist chiding people for not doing a search first. Myself, I have had the worst luck searching but always do before posting.
Just my two cents.
One thing I hate is when people ask stupid questions that could have been answered with a simple search, sometimes just a google search would answer it. Although I'm being very nice since this is a new device and for some people this may be their first Samsung phone so I'm a little lenient right now. Anyways welcome, and I'm sure you'll love this phone.

You make my point nicely, Thanks.
You don't like someones post, you can always just ignore it. Thanks for being so lenient.
I was always taught that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. And as I said, speaking from experience, searching doesn't always find results here.
Newbies need our help....not to be scolded, chided, attacked, or otherwise harrassed. I've seen other forums here that are ruthless. And have heard people comment that they are afraid to ask a question or apologise ahead of time lest the trolls swoop in.
This is all discussed elsewhere in the forum rules....likely under Etiquette.
Again just trying to help set the tone. If I know the answer, I'll answer. If I don't I won't. Either way, I promise to be nice.

And I speaking from experience is if you search you'll find the answer. I understand newbies need help sometimes, HELP not be held by the hand thru everything, cuz then they will never learn. We were all newbs at one point or another so if I could search and find answers without having to ask stupid questions ( and no the only stupid questions aren't the ones you don't ask) then so can others.

THANK YOU!!! I'd considered posting a thread just like this days ago. This is my first time in Tmobile, but I've been around XDA for a long time, and I've been appalled by some of the comments (consistently left by the same people). How hard is it to be nice or just abstain from commenting if you're just going to be a jerk. Thinking back many of the post that received nasty comments were or up by people with only 1-20 post on XDA. They're noobs, people, just like we once were.
Just yesterday I answered a question about having an AT&T GS4 unlocked to use on T mobile. Yes, the post should have been in the AT&T forum, and it should have been in the Q&A section at the very least. But I knew the answer and have the information with a link to the appropriate thread. Kindly.
On a happier note, how awesome is this phone?!
OK, I'll bite only because this is my thread.
What gives you or anyone else the right to scold people?
Read the rules. It is explicitly said that trolling is not cool. And attacking people because their post does not meet your criteria is trolling.
And it makes you look bad.
@eflip88, I am not directing this directly at you. No disrespect intended. I asked for input. I appreciate the discourse.
I was speaking generally, at the people who DO feel the need to be jerks. Not at you or your actions. Although your reply summed it up nicely.

Dude I'm not scolding or attacking anybody, and don't talk about rules because the first rule is SEARCH.

Most of the time it takes less keystrokes to answer a question than to give someone a hard time. So it is usually more productive to be nice as well. ha ha
Peace.
Whats life without a little tough love?

let me be the first to say;

There's just certain people that have an obsessive need for conflict...It doesn't matter whether it's the internet or anything else they do..They'll always look for the worst way to handle something.....Your best bet is to just ignore them and move on...They want you to respond, That's the point..To fuel their misery...It sucks to see but it's never going to stop..especially when they have a computer screen to feel 9ft tall behind..
The worst is when people actually write out some long reply about searching instead of freaking linking the person to the relevant post, so annoying....
I have been on XDA long enough to know that people always want instant gratification to their needs. It is like they are entitled to it. Instead of searching like the way forums are meant to be. Day after day, they kept posting the same freaking question. There are community members who participate in these forums, and there are leechers who just come for the information and leave as quickly once they got what they wanted. These leechers usually dont even search the forums for answers, they just ask questions that have been answered like more than 20x (literally). We can be nice up to a point, but after that, you gotta take out the broom to sweep them away. Sometime it is better not to have than to have.

Lol, why would I be crying? The only people who would be crying are those so called leechers who wont be getting any help and get scolded in the forums.

Well attacking someone doesn't constitute as trolling but is certainly against the rules either way.
If I see that someone has asked a question which can easily be found via a search, I will give the user the answer and mention that it was easily found by SEARCHING and that they'll have more luck finding things if they actually search first. <-- As you can see, it gets the point across that they should search but does so in a friendly manner.
If, however, I see that the same person is constantly asking questions which require extremely little effort to find the answer, I'll change my response to something like "Here's a great idea BUT it's quite revolutionary and might be a bit shocking at first.
Try using the search feature this site has provided us with.
I told you it was shocking. It's fine though because once you've got used to the idea, you'll realise that I'm actually correct in what I'm saying and you will then begin to search for answers (otherwise you might find yet another really shocking post).
Normally I wouldn't respond like this but this isn't exactly the first time you've asked a question which would only take a few seconds of searching. Whenever you have a question, you don't even think of searching. You just come straight out and ask it, without taking into consideration how dumb it could possibly make you look.
Believe it or not, this is a DEVELOPMENT site. Not a childcare site. Not a help desk. A development site. Are questions allowed here? Certainly but no one is here to hold your hand and give you all the answers. We also expect some work from you aswell. Even if that's simply searching before you post and actually paying attention to what you read, that's good enough.
You start doing that and then I can start to help you if you have any real problems." <-- This is not so friendly but well deserved and there's nothing wrong with this response in the slightest. It's very rare I'll make a post like this but when I do it's really effective and the user ends up becoming a better member because of it.
I totally agree with your intentions though and hope a better attitude can ensue across the entirety of XDA so that it can become a friendlier place to be
