I would like to wipe the sdcard storage, but I don't know if it's possible...
I have a gsm galaxy nexus, rooted, unlocked, not official JB Rom, with the last version of CWM.
I'm worried because of the clockwordmod folder, which contains the backups (which I don't want to save). Is this folder necessary for the program to work?
If there's no problem, is there a way to do that in recovery mode?
Of course I'll do that when changing new Rom, just to avoid apps problems.
Sorry about my English.

you don't need the clockworkmod folder on your internal sdcard for CWM recovery to work on your phone. If you wipe the sdcard, you'll lose any back-ups, but the recovery will work fine.
Within CWM recovery, go to "mounts and storage" and then "format /sdcard", and that will wipe it.
edit to add:
while this will wipe your sdcard, there is no need to format /sdcard before flashing a new ROM. as long as you wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache, you should be good to go to install a new ROM.

Thanks for the answer. I know I don't need to wipe sdcard, is just that I have installed so many apps, and there are a lot of folders (the app Sd Maid don't clean everything) that I don't need, and I would like to clean it.

So recently I've been trying to flash the CM9 nightlies and all attempts have led to boot-loops. I was wondering if it was just a bad download so I tried to install AOKP and got the same results...so then I tried the new Paranoid Android rom and still got boot-loops. So is my phone like rejecting 4.0? somebody please help me out with this!

I've had this problem before. What I had to do to fix it was flash another recovery. You can also try fixing permissions in CWM.

Thanks pure! I'm trying the method of fixing permissions first and if that's unsuccessful I'll try another recovery.
I'm still having issues. I've tried the permission fix and different recovery and still nothing.

You tried a new recovery as in you went from:
-CWM to Amon Ra?
OR
-CWM 5.0.0.x to CWM 3.0.0.8?
If you only did option 1, have you tried reflashing CWM in hboot?
If you only did option 2, try option 1 then. If that fails, try going into a saved nandroid, open Rom Manager, and select a different version of CWM. Make sure that you go onto settings and check "Erase Recovery."
I went from CWM to Amon.

So I've still had no luck getting anything to run but my current. I've done all three things mentioned and still absolutely nothing. I cleaned out my SD yesterday and pretty much got rid of a lot of useless stuff, could that have effected anything?

You probably are but i gotta ask, are you wiping everything before flashing? Meaning formating everything in the mounts and storrage menu in cwm except emmc and sd.
Yes I was, this pretty much goes with the whole reason I wanted s-on. I had this theory that if I returned to complete stock and re-rooted my phone that I could flash properly again, and I was correct.

Here's a trick to ENSURE installation.
Make sure u back up ur apps on titanium.
1. Wipe user data 2x
2. Wipe cache partition 2x
3. Wipe Dalvick Cache 3x
4. Format boot 2x
5. Format system 2x
6. Format datadata 2x
7. Format data 2x
8. Format cache 2x
9. Flash the Rom.
10. Boot up and enjoy ICS.
This is what I do to make sure it is done. I dont trust manual installation.
Do this every time.

Aha well thanks on the help but I already got everything working again. May I ask why you wipe everything so much? It doesn't really make a difference.

I want to format my internal sdcard. From CWM in mounts and storage there is an option for both "format /sdcard", and also an option for "format /data/sdcard".
If I flash New Rom, GAPPS, and then restore app backups can I then safely format the sdcard? I know people have regrettably formatted their sdcard following a format of system, data, cache etc and then be up s!#t creek as they deleted their Rom that was on the internal storage.
I just want to make sure that I'm not going to do this and then have a phone that won't boot up.
Thanks for any help.

You should backup everything you want to save to your computer, see if your recovery allow adb, if yes, wipe /sdcard then push rom and gapps back. If no, do like you said, flash rom and gapps then wipe /sdcard.

Thanks. I actually managed to use the adb method, and miraculously it worked. Everything seems to be right in the "right" place. Thanks so much.
Not sure how you're finding time to make builds, post in development, and answer threads in Q&A though. You'll need a vacation after all of this.
Thanks once again

Hi, i just got my nexus and have flashed a rom onto it but i want to try another rom and dont want to do a full factory reset and scrub and loose all my stuff on my internal storage.
I have used a superwipe script on my previous smart phones, is there something like this available yet? if not how do i go about changing roms without deleting from my internal storage?
Thanks for any help:good:
Well to try a different ROM, your going to have to factory reset, that doesn't mean it wipes the internal memory though. Just put the ROM on the root of the tab, and flash it. Shouldn't wipe anything off the tab besides data and cache, leaving everything else intact.

Sup guys, I've never had a android device with no sdcard, do what happens when you wipe the phone, all my nandroids, pictures etc get deleted?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk now Free
No, unless you tell recovery to wipe your internal sd. When you do a wipe in a custom recovery, doing the factory data reset will wipe everything on /data and /cache but it will leave the internal sdcard partition alone.
OK, I figured something like that! Thanks

Greetings friends of the Forum. I installed and uninstalled many roms, now appeared a bug that I do not know if it is caused for had made many installed Roms customs. with all the customs ROMs every often and with a simple tasks like opening an app the Xperia ZL crash about 2 or 3 minutes and then reboot. So my question is how to make a Super Wipe from Recovery? I mean clean the whole phone (Except MicroSD) so deleted safely all the data in the internal memory and phone for then I can Installs a rom Stock (*. tft). Right now I already Flashed Stock Rom, through Flashtool, the last versiĆ³n (.569) and I am testing it to see if the bug is fixed and see if the failure appeared only with the customs roms. I want to make you know that I have used Custom roms Stable and nightlys and both versions crashed and rebooted.
Full wipe means in recovery u hav to wipe data, wipe cache, mounts n storages >format system, advanced>wipe dalvik cache u need to do it everytime u change a rom

Don't wipe sdcard, that is your sdcard and you may have files there you don't want wiped. System, data, cache, and dalvik-cache are the ones to wipe.

Shouldn't be an issue... are you still having problems?
If you're having problems, and don't care about anything on your phone...
Pull your external SD, and use the Sony tool to flash a clean downloaded sony stock rom to your phone.
You'll lose root, but if you're having problems anyway, it might be a good idea to just go back to a complete factory reset...
