I took my phony to a repair place and they tried to repair my cracked screen and they said that this part is different because the SIM and sd card were like reversed anyone else have this issue or found a bypass?
Also he bought screen with the frame so it was an easy replacement.

Their parts are probably the entire front of the phone, not just the screen, or lcd... I don't doubt that the I9300 front assembly wasn't compatible...
One of these should work:

It sounds like they are sending you the parts for another phone.
You are right about being cautious with your wife's phone.
Can you call the shop you bought both of the screens from and verify the type of phone that they are sending the part for?
You may have 2 perfectly good screens for a Inc S.
OR, but highly uncommon that your video card has crashed in a way that it could be corrupting every screen that you throw at it.
I don't think there is any way that the screen can be damaged by the phone in a way that is causing BOTH screens to fail.
But just to be safe, I would wait for advice from someone with more experience on the matter..
That or see what the shop says.
When you heated up the unit could you have melted any solder connections around the components?
That should be lead free solder with a higher melting point than regular solder.
Good luck..
Thanks for your response and when I heated it up the logic board was already out of the phone so no heat was applied to it but I will call the shop I didn't think about it being and incredible s screen I wonder if that would make a difference although their website says the screen os for the s and 2 but again thinks for your response

Maybe you can purchase something damaged at a reduced price.
- I bet a few repair shops have a FUBAR item in a box somewhere waiting for toxic-cycle.
Do you have any specific questions I tore mine apart and replaced the body. Its similar to the euro sgs2 except there is no screw directly holding the mobo in to.the chassis. If u need any specific pics I'll help u out

Where it is in all Galaxy S & SII phones. Next to the microphone in the cable that has the fixed bottom soft buttons, microphone, and wifi antenna connector. It is a complete assembly but you may be able to de-solder the vibrator from the assembly and replace it if you are careful and have one.

is it hard to disassemble/reassemble this phone at all? any chance of putting up a full vid of disassembling it?
For you guys taking apart your phones... does it have an internal SWAPABLE SD card?
I know my AWS Dell Streak we were able to take it apart and replace the internal SD (micro SD card) with a larger sized one.
What about these phones?

Sorry guys...I miss read the post and posted out of context. please disregard my post above. I'm not sure if the internal sd can be replaced yet either but am eager to find out as well
I drop my phone and the side is all dent and scratched up. Is there any update on how to disassemble this phone yet?
Also is there a link on an oem housing replacement for the T989? I can't seem to find a thread in the accessories sub-forum regarding a new housing replacement. Thanks in advance.
I need some help
My bezel cracked. I have never dropped it, so I don't know how it happened. Samsung charges 100 dollars, but the OEM case with bezel is 17 dollars. Is it possible to replace the Bezel and not the whole screen / digitizer / bezel ?
The Samsung deal sounds good, but if it is just scratched... maybe live with it until you actually break it?
---------- Post added at 08:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 AM ----------
I'll see if I can figure out how to do this...
I left this one on the bumper of my truck and went to the store, thirty minutes later, I found it in a busy road, face down. It was run over by a car as I went to pick it up. Whether two tires or 200, I don't know, but the screen was a total loss, and the bezel was so dented I wouldn't even try to put a new screen in it. The phone rang as I was holding it, so it still works. I replaced the whole screen assembly in five minutes, but it cost $170! Price gouging, I'm sure. Anyway, this housing is basically the real structure of the phone, made of metal and the screens are glued into it.
I don't recall seeing anything that looked like a replaceable internal SD card.
I took the old screen off the bezel, just out of curiosity, and it looks extremely difficult to remove any working part from the bezel without destroying it. The AMOLED and digitizer are very fragile, have connections running all around the edges which could be nicked and cause an open circuit, even using plastic tools. I'd recommend replacing broken digitizers or screens, but not broken bezels. I'm also unsure how a metal bezel breaks without cracking the screen, but that is beside the point. I've replaced a broken digitizer on a HTC EVO 4G, for a friend and it took about two hours, required some specialized industrial two sided tape (no foam!) and I risked damaging the AMOLED in that while doing it. Cost was $12.
I'll now try to post some photos.

I was trying to repair the broken glass on my wife's Galaxy Note 2 (the I317 version) and wound up accidentally tearing a small piece of the ribbon that is glued to the back of the lcd. ( The large, flat peice). Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement for that part? I think its part of the digitizer for the stylus but, I haven't really found anything that is the same.

So I dropped my phone and it cracked. The sprint repair center said they didn't have extra screens and I had to pay to get a replacment.
So I'm going to try and fix this myself. My question is, does anyone know if there is like 2 separate screens on the epic? I'm guessing something like the gorilla screen and then the actual inner screen? Because what cracked is only the outside and mostly by the capitive buttons. Could I order a replacement screen and just fix this my self? Would it be hard to do it?

May just be easier to replace the entire top sliding section, including screen.

The glass layer and the LCD is sealed together professionally by Samsung for better display effects, so you have to replace them together. I've done the change a year ago and it cost me ~$70. I'm in China though.

How much do you think that would cost? And can you show me where to find that because I'm searching on ebay and can't find just the top screen part.

I'm going to T-Mobile and probably getting a S4 so I'm not trying to pay that much for the Epic, it's going to be my game and music phone only.
I found this,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-Sprint-...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item43ae84d53f
not sure if that's what I need though. Never mind, that's just the screen I wouldn't be able to put that on my phone. So, where can I find the whole top sliding part?
If i were you, i would get a bricked or water damaged or broken USB port epic off ebay for like $20 (i got one with broken usb for $14) and just switch out the motherboards. That is the easiest method and cheapest

Ya I've seen a few epics that were up for sale for parts and repair. Ill probably do that because the crack gets worse everyday and it started going to the top. I was first planing on just putting black electric tape on the capitive lights (that's the worst part of the crack) and just putting a screen protector over it and use the nav bar so I won't need the buttons on the bottom lol.

So I was walking yesterday and managed to drop my phone. While it was in a case, apparently that was enough to essentially shatter the screen. It looks like the digitizer is ok, because I can still use it just fine. I've looked around and I can go 2 routes. Either I can replace the glass which covers the digitizer or I can replace the whole assembly. Obviously the glass screen is cheaper, so I'd like to try that route first.
My first question is: Has anyone actually done this before? Could you give me your thoughts and any gotchas?
Secondly, does anyone know if there is a difference between the glass for a N7100 vs the SPH-L900? The reason why I ask is that there are multiple listings on ebay for the N7100 glass but significantly less for the SPH-900. I wonder if they are different dimensions or maybe have different properties of some sort.
Thanks guys!

Hunt down a true OEM screen.
Get the screen and digitizer oem all in one. Super easy to change. Don't even attempt to replace just the screen. Should set you back <200
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Skip the screen and buy a full screen and digitizer. Make sure to buy oem. Doing just the glass will only be money down the drain. Its not worth the money or hassle. Considering the most lukely outcome will either be dust or something behind the glass. As well as damage of the digitizer. I bought a replacement screen and digitizer combo. Didnt even need to watch a video or anything and it was my first install on any phone. Just remember to remove your sd card

Any difference between a sprint and verizon n2? My friend just broke her Vn2 glass and asked if I could fix it......I'm assuming they are roughly the same just thought I'd ask before I accept her challenge.....lol
i replaced just the screen on my Note2. Took about 2 hours but it worked. The new screen isn't as good as the OEM but for $22 vs $200 i can live with it. I do have a slight bubble in my screen that is noticeable only when the phone is off.
