The new sprint update has made my 3G a little faster ! I was getting like 0.23mbps down and 0.10 mbps up. I ran a speed test after I updated and check it out ! Almost 2mbps down woo! lol I'm used to AT&T speeds but I switched to sprint because my job gets a 23% discount for us .

If you are rooted flash a custom rom that has it built in already such as Clarks Sonic Rom. I think Freeza also has instruction on how to upgrade if you are stock.

Thank you! I searched for Freeza update to LG8 and found the thread. Much appreciated!
Glad I could help.
Same here my speeds increased after the latest Sprint update. Though I noticed I'm on ehrpd instead of evdo now, might be coincidence, not sure. Didn't know they were upgrading the towers yet here in Central Connecticut.

There was a thread floating around . You just manually update it . You get file and put on ext SD card and boot into recovery and apply update .YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE ROOTED.

WiFi calling works great, IMS connects faster and changing to Cellular Preferred from WiFi preferred actually makes the phone drop WiFi calling and pick up the cell network. It doesnt do that with Kinetco WiFi calling. It stays on WiF until you disable.
The radio is muchhhh better about switching between EDGE and 4G. I used to get no service sometimes when it would go from 4G to EDGE. I will see how it goes but ive already seen an improvement.

No need to go back to stock, just wait for devs to incorporate into Roms. Soon someone will release a new rooted deodexed stock to flash with cwm.

I like the hardware but this loss of service thing is annoying.
Has anyone determined if this is a software issue? Sprints network isnt great but my evo 3d fares much better.
Ive read around on the internet and I THOUGHT I read a post that mentioned a user reverting to EG30 which solved his/her problem. Only thing that isnt positive is whether the user reverted to software EG30 or baseband EG30.
Any insight into this issue, how to revert to an earlier software version? Ive tried various radios but not software. I appreciate your time.
I'm having same problem....my evo 3d had no problem with Los but my e4gt is terrible where I live.....I was told to try different modems but I tried FCO7 AND FC14 still the same.

Ok, maybe that is incorrect.
Just using it, for example sending a tweet or an email, one may send immediately. Then if I choose to refresh or send a second tweet/email right after, the transmission arrows dont light up for a while. Its like the radio is going to sleep way too fast and it takes even longer to wake up and complete the transaction. Enabling/disabling fast dormancy doesnt seem to make a difference.
Edit: under these conditions, I never get the "no signal" icon. Just seems the radio is sleepy
Well I asked around because my signal sucks but I called sprint and they said my area has really good service.....but people told me to try FCO4 and FC14 and FCO7 that might help so I did......nothing helped.

True that! FF18 got old real fast I had to roll back to EL29. Breaks my heart that Jelly Bean has been released and we are still struggling to get a solid ICS update I did read reports thought in in android 5 google is considering an update model similar to windows and to bypass carriers and allow the pushing of updates directly to device. This should solve our fragmentation issue but who knows...

With that I got just bars, no indication of 4g or 3g. The phone wouldnt go to the internet, it said no connection available. I had to restore back to cyangen to get the phone just to work... but regardless of which settings I chose the phone is stuck in 3g. What is the fix? I'm going crazy here

Wait, are you just looking at the icon without it doing anything. Many aftermarket ROMs will show 3G when the phone is doing nothing. It will show 4G or H when you make it work.
