Sim lockup - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey!
I'm having weird problems with my GNex. At random intervals it disconnets from the network and asks me for sim pin number. I've flashed 2 different custom roms (i'm on liquid beta 1 currently), tried sim cards from 2 different operators and no difference. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?
I've googled and searched the forums and found an old thread relating to this on an HTC desire, but no solution there.
Pls help and ty

Hey,
This won't help you too much but I had the same issue with the last ROM I used, I've since switched to [ROM] Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Deodexed/Odexed, Rooted, Unsecured Boot [Factory Image] made by teshxx and the issue has gone away.
Maybe give that one a go.
Cheers

Ty for help, but i think i've figured out the problem and have only myself to blame...
As I forgot to flash a new radio and RIL, the old one was apparently not quite compatible with the new version of android. Everytime the signal strength went down it disconnected from the network and asked to unlock sim. The latest radio and coresponding RIL fixed this (at least for now).
Ty for ur help

can someone post me link to the radio that I need?

OK, so I flashed JB (yakjuux to takju) few days ago and now, my service (Koodo) can't connect to it for some reason. I don't know why, but I need a fix right now. So what I was thinking of was to flash radio that works with yakjuux (or something like that) and hope to God that that's gonna solve the problem.
I tried this SIM card on Nexus S (ICS) and that worked... I tried different SIM (Wind and Rogers) and that didn't read either. I am pretty sure that it's either hardware problem or radio problem. So my first attempt is to flash back to older radio or something that's more compatible with Canadian radio. Can anyone give me link to it?
Also can anyone tell me the problem of this? I did drop my phone before signal going all weird, so that might have been the problem... Any thoughts? I need it ASAP. Thanks in advance
Also just to let you know, when I go to Service Provider settings, Koodo does pop up, but it doesn't let me actually connect to it. It fails every single time...

[Q] No Service

Hello there,
I've been reading around on the forum for ages now trying to find a solution to my problem, found nothing and see no other way around it than to post my problem here.
I've used the Ace Hack kit to root the phone and make it s-off. Booting up I get no signal /limited service. I've tried to installed Revolution HD and it works perfect except the same error is still there. The phone is reading my sim card and i can see my contacts.
The baseband version is: 12.39a.50.19U_26.06.06.30_M
I live in the UK and I'm using a Lebara pay to go card on the vodafone network.
I'm absolutely cluesless which radio/RIL that could be suitable and all the attempts I've made have resulted in status quo. I beg you, please help me!
It could be several things. First, try using a different sim card - from a different operator if possible.
Sent from a dream.
Update the radio my friend to the lastest one.
Download this one
http://www.mediafire.com/?sjpp75agt3q3u3n
put on SD card then reboot into the bootloader and it will ask if you want to update press volume up. Just make sure you have over 50% battery power before doing this.
Tried a different sim card without luck.
I've also installed the new radio which hacktrix2006 linked to and it doesn't seem to help on the situation though it has been successfully installed.
Thanks for the suggestions, do you have any other? I'm really desperate here!
try cleaning the bottom cover there are some gold point use something to light score it failing that make sure the pins the gold parts cover are making contact as that is the antanna
Hack, do you have a md5 check for that link to mediafire. I might change my radio when I get my service back tonight.. Which radio is it?
i do not have a md5 sorry
What radio is the latest... And one more thing... Will a backup keep my original radio? Or do I have to fastboot flash the original radio I manage to find on the net?

Thanks alot for the tips Hacktrix, I'm missing the cover for the battery thing which also has two of these small connectors. Didn't realize that was an antenna at all, but i guess both of the covers has to be on to get any reception at all. Grrr all this time and it's such a small thing.. I've now ordered a cover and it should be here on monday, will post update on whether it's working or not. Cheers
It will work if thats the case mate.
Okay, so I've received the cover for the battery now. I still get no signal on the phone so far, maybe it's the radio? I've flashed it with the one hacktrix suggested. Can anyone recommend another radio or have any other things I can try out?
Right before we go to flashing the radio again, have you checked the sim card is working correctly.
If the Signal is still not showing even after putting the cover on, then we simply must start right from basics.
Check the simcard does it work in another phone.
Try another simcard
Is the Gold contacts on the cover making contact with the gold clips on the phone.
I know this might sound dumb but its a starting point.
I have now tried several simcards, the one that I'm using in my motorola at the moment that works 100%, the thing is I can also see all my contacts on the Desire, so there is no doubt that the phone is reading the sim card properly. I've tried to bend the small gold contacts slightly upwards to make sure that there is a connection, this does not produce any result either.
Here is all data that I have.
Android version: 2.3.5
HTC Sense version: 3.5
Sotware number: Android Revolution HD 7.1
Baseband version: 12.65.60.29U_26.14.04.28_M
Build number: 1.05.401.4 CL185058 release-keys
Any ideas?

I don't get that radio, should i rename it to PD98IMG? I've tried that and it won't flash it. As I'm running revolution, which are sense based shouldn't I also flash a RIL? Sorry for the confusion.
Forgot to say you needed to flash RIL after latest radio sorry mate.
lookup for 12.65.60.29U_26.14.04.28_M RIL it should work after
here is dowload for ril

[Q] Why will my Note II only register to my network on 1 ROM?

Hi guys,
Firstly I would just like to say I have searched for 20 mins to try and find a solution, although I have found little bits and pieces of what it could be I have lots of questions unanswered. I have had a Note II for around 6 months and although I have done lots a tweaking, tried out lots of roms I would still consider myself to be a noob but im trying to catch up with you lot!!
So then despite my signal bars saying there is signal my Note II (GTN-7100) is getting a error message saying (selected network o2 unavailable)
I tried all the obvious such as cleaning sim with rubber, reinstating roms galore and going back to stock rom completely and removing the root, again the same error message appeared. This started when I installed bobcat rom I think its fantastic a good solid rom but what I want to know is why will my device only regester to my network on bobcat rom? If it was the sim card it wouldn't work even on bobcat rom right? I thought the answer was a modem issue so I remembered that on one of the roms I cant remember which one right now had the option to install different modems on Aroma so I installed each and every modem option there and still no good so that's when i started searching the internet. I came across the great XDA developers website and watched the beautiful noob video! so for anyone that wants a bit of incentive ..... I promise to kill myself if someone helps me, what more could you want than 1 less noob on the planet! baseband version on bobcat rom is n7100dxdmf1 with the imei 353627052355057 and on any other rom the imei is 004999010640000 and baseband n7100xxdlk7 so I dont no if that has anything to do with it ... anyway thanks guys keep the good work up and any response is highly appreciated!!!
Did u face the same problem with stock rom on your note 2.

Thanks for getting back to me, yes its exactly the same on stock rom
I understand there is a problem flashing older modems once you flash dmf1 onwards I think its something to do with partitions. Im sure if you odin a stock dmf or dmg rom your problem will dissapear. You see wheb you are on other rom your imei goes to default. 0049 etc which is generic. This will not allow you to connect to network

I'll suggest you go to Settings and check if you are registered on the correct network, this doesn't seems to be a problem with the ROM else try to flash it using any custom ROM and check, even if its not fixed, then probably the issue is with the phone.

No GSM Service on LS990 lollipop roms

Help. I have an unlocked ls990, I am with MetroPCS and I have a metropcs sim card in the phone. On every single rom I've tried I cannot get any service at all. All of them say "no sim card detected" and when I look in the settings, it says I'm connected to Sprint. I get a "1x signal" and cannot make any calls ot texts. I can't seem to find any info anywhere about my problem
I first tried the *#*#DATA#*#* and tried to switch to LTE/GSM it said "searching for service" for a second but it just reset itself back to LTE/CDMA (PRL)
I then tried to look for APN settings. There was no option to select it. It wasn't even in the menu.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix?
Bump.
Really need help
I'm having the same problem right now. Can't get fix either!!!
Those Lollipop ROMs are aosp?
Sprint has not released Lollipop for G3
I fixed my device... I used CloudyG3, works like ah charm.
I have the G3 Sprint version LS990 with the same problem. did you flash baseband? which one?
Thanks
Just curious. Maybe a noob question, but what would flashing a different baseband do?
How can we enable GSM on aosp roms for LS990?. There are very nice roms here but not GSM. it just keeps switching between gsm and cdma.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I didn't want to make a new one with this already here.
I'm having the same issue. I have a Sprint ls990 but I rooted and went to Straight Talk. It was a pain, but I finally got it working on GSM for the last 10 months, so I know it's possible. I've been running CloudyG3. I have been having issues with the internal memory and I wanted to update to Lollipop anyway so yesterday I tried flashing new roms (I've tried BlissPop and OctOS). I'm not getting any service. I wrote down my old APN settings and tried them with no luck, and got a different set of APN settings from Straight Talk (not sure why there would be 2 different settings?) but no luck with them either.
I tried starting from scratch so last night I wiped everything, formatted the memory, and installed my nandroid that I took before I started all of this. Today all I've done is flash BlissPop and Gapps, still no service.
If anybody could offer any help I'd greatly appreciate it. I know just enough about this stuff to be dangerous.
Edit: I wanted to update this in case there's anybody else having the same issue. I flashed Dirty Unicorns version 9.1 and my service came back. The only thing I can think of is that that rom is compatible with the Sprint ls990 and being unlocked for GSM. I'm sure there's somebody that knows more about it that can explain it better.

[Q] No SIM Card issue

On my HTC One M8, if I use the stock ROM or Android revolution, the SIM card works fine, however if I install Liquid or Paranoid Android, I lose network and it won't recognize the SIM - this effectively rules out "bent card trays" or other similar fixes. (Plus, I already got a new card tray in the form of a new warranty replacement M8 that I tried. No love.)
I tried flashing a new radio to no avail....
If anyone has an easy fix, or any insight into the issue, I'd be eternally grateful. I absolutely cannot stand HTC Sense and all it's myriad annoyances.
Anyone?

Have you tried searching the LS or PA threads to see if this is a known issue? I'm not a user of AOSP ROMs so I don't personally know off hand whether this is the case or not.
You can also try CM12 or a GPE based ROM.
Also, make sure all firmware is up to date (as well as TWRP version), not just radio.
Try searching for network and choos manualy. When i flash a CM12 base rom i must do that.
Tried that... and it works under CM12 too... just not the others that I listed (so far)
Updated TWRP and started over from scratch. Same results - runs CM 12, stock and any other sense based roms without any issues. Attempting to run any AOSP roms results in the no SIM failure.
Dumping it back to stock and sending it back in favor of using the new one they sent under warranty. I'll root this one later and test it to see if it will take.
Same thing on new phone. Gah.
