On my HTC One M8, if I use the stock ROM or Android revolution, the SIM card works fine, however if I install Liquid or Paranoid Android, I lose network and it won't recognize the SIM - this effectively rules out "bent card trays" or other similar fixes. (Plus, I already got a new card tray in the form of a new warranty replacement M8 that I tried. No love.)
I tried flashing a new radio to no avail....
If anyone has an easy fix, or any insight into the issue, I'd be eternally grateful. I absolutely cannot stand HTC Sense and all it's myriad annoyances.
Anyone?

Have you tried searching the LS or PA threads to see if this is a known issue? I'm not a user of AOSP ROMs so I don't personally know off hand whether this is the case or not.
You can also try CM12 or a GPE based ROM.
Also, make sure all firmware is up to date (as well as TWRP version), not just radio.
Try searching for network and choos manualy. When i flash a CM12 base rom i must do that.
Tried that... and it works under CM12 too... just not the others that I listed (so far)
Updated TWRP and started over from scratch. Same results - runs CM 12, stock and any other sense based roms without any issues. Attempting to run any AOSP roms results in the no SIM failure.
Dumping it back to stock and sending it back in favor of using the new one they sent under warranty. I'll root this one later and test it to see if it will take.
Same thing on new phone. Gah.

For 3 months now I've been trying to fix my rooted HTC Magic 32B Vodafone branded handset.
I could type pages regarding all of the processes / ROM's that I've tried to apply without success, but I won't bore you.
Basically, I did not back-up my stock ROM, and applied an HTC Hero ROM successfully, which worked no probs for 3 months until I installed an app that seemed to have interferred with the Hero ROM and the 'phone looked bricked.
I could still get in to 'phone system recovery but couldn't use fastboot etc because the phone wouldn't boot into the phone op sys.
FINALLY!!!!! I copied RA-IONv1.6.3G.zip ROM to the SD, used the 'phone system recovery 'Apply sdcard:choose zip to apply it - bingo: T-Mobile ROM. It now 'works', with a Voda splash screen, then T-Mobile sim request. I'd much rather not have this T-Mobile requirement though.
Disregarding all other methods of applying a new ROM ('cos I've proved copying a ROM to the SD works) - does ANYONE know of a Voda ROM that I can use?
I have tried many, but most seem to fail and point to requiring a goldcard - which I don't have and couldn't produce at the time due to having a 'bricked' phone.
The ROM must be HTC Magic 32B, and I really want to simply copy it to my SD and apply it.
If not; can anyone explain why the T-Mobile ROM worked in this way - yet all other ROM's didn't?
Please be patient guys - I'm an expert in some things, but ROM flashing ain't one of 'em.
I also hope I've chosen the right forum - if not - pls let me know.

I am in a similar situation. Installed cyanogenmod 6.0. It worked fine but I want to return it to the original state my phone was in. Could I get the recovery, OS and everything how it was before I put a cyanogen on it? Is there a way to do that?
@darrylles Have you had any luck yourself?
I have been having
Issue 1:
In the past 2-3 weeks, when I am on a phone call I am able to hear the other person, but they are not unable to me.
This does not happen every call, just some, both inbound and outbound.
I have tried multiple ROMs but it does not seem to help (ROMs tested: CM7, Virtuous Doubleshot v1.0.1 and RCMix3D KINGDOM)
If it matters, I'm with VodaFONE in Australia, but this happens even when I have full coverage.
Looking at the whole next to the micro usb port it seems to be clear.
Is this a software or hardware issue? Is there anything I can do to fix it besides un-root and RMA?
Issue 2:
While listening to music or watching a movie, my phone will start to use "voice search" without me prompting it to.
Is this a common issue or something that I can easily fix? (I have no real need for this, so if there's a way to uninstall it, I really wouldn't mind).
If I need to un-root and RMA I will, but I would prefer not to. If there is other information requested, just ask and I will do my best to answer.
kernels And Radio
Have you tried changing radio and kernel of the phone??
Flash a newer radio and change the ril's in the rom you're using to fully utilize the new radio properly.
You may be using an older radio, and the rom probably is probably using ril's for a newer or different radio than what's installed on you device, thus causing your issues.
flash it back to original and send it to Vodafone, because this sounds like a bigger problem....

I dont think the problem is quite that big. It doesnt seem like a hardware fault because if it was a hardware fault then it would be most if not all calls that are affected if the microphone didnt work. He says that it is only some which leads me to believe it is a software error. A different radio and matching RIL's should fix it.
Look on the ROM description page of the ROM you are using and install the radio that it recommends. It will already have matching RIL's for it.
... a lot of people do the downgrade to 1.32 to root, and forget to update the radio when they start using custom rom's built off newer builds that originally come with newer radio builds...
mind you, the op's problems are some of the lesser that i've come across... quite tame actually
If you're using the RCMix Kingdom Rom, use Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M
Thanks for all the help. Will try flashing a new radio and shall come back here to say if it worked or not.
Hey!
I'm having weird problems with my GNex. At random intervals it disconnets from the network and asks me for sim pin number. I've flashed 2 different custom roms (i'm on liquid beta 1 currently), tried sim cards from 2 different operators and no difference. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?
I've googled and searched the forums and found an old thread relating to this on an HTC desire, but no solution there.
Pls help and ty
Hey,
This won't help you too much but I had the same issue with the last ROM I used, I've since switched to [ROM] Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Deodexed/Odexed, Rooted, Unsecured Boot [Factory Image] made by teshxx and the issue has gone away.
Maybe give that one a go.
Cheers
Ty for help, but i think i've figured out the problem and have only myself to blame...
As I forgot to flash a new radio and RIL, the old one was apparently not quite compatible with the new version of android. Everytime the signal strength went down it disconnected from the network and asked to unlock sim. The latest radio and coresponding RIL fixed this (at least for now).
Ty for ur help
I am having a huge issue with getting data to work on my HTC One X international. Any rom i try, aosp or sense, as long as its based on android 4.0.3 can get data to work.
But any rom, aosp or sense, based on android 4.0.4 and all 4.1 roms except 1 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784185 ), i cannot get data to work.
I do know how to manually input my apn because every rom i use except 1 jellybean rom, i have to manually provision data. the one jellybean rom from tripnraver just works. i flash the rom, reboot, and data works.
the newer sense based roms using android 4.0.4 that i really want to use, there is nothing i can do that will make data work. i have posted a thread on xda about a month ago and it didnt get much attention. few guys gave some ideas but most was stuff i already tried.
if someone could look at the jellybean rom and see how the apns are tied into it and maybe tell me how to incorporate the file into a sense rom i would just be so excited. thanks for reading

Are you sure that your antennas are working fine? Might be a hardware defect.
First you'd probably want to relock the bootloader and run the RUU to eliminate software issues.
thanks for replying i appreciate the help. i know its not hardware cuz of all the roms based on android 4.0.3 that do work and the one 4.1 rom that works. as far as the ruu. im on softbank in okinawa japan. should i use one from asia or similar? and when you flash an ruu do you loose root?
edit: duh you loose root. my bad. relock the bootloader and run ruu. you think thats my best bet huh? im a custom rom junkie and this is really being a thorn in my side! lol.

You will lose root when you run an RUU, it is a way of completely wiping and reflashing the device to stock configuration to try and eliminate any possible changes that a custom ROM might have done to the phone's software that is otherwise inaccessible. Once you run an RUU, you can easily unlock again and then flash a custom recovery, then flash a ROM to test if data works.
I'm not sure about the specifics of Softbank, but as long as they use standard GSM/UMTS/HSPA+ protocols you should just need to put in the proper APN (Make sure it's also the right MNC and MCC, I believe those affect your ability to connect.)
do you think my issue has something to do with my CID? i was over reading throught the ruu thread and saw people having issue with certains roms or ruus and it was pertaining to cid. maybe 4.0.4 hasnt been officially released my my hox and just am stuck on 4.0.3 for now? im definitely shooting from the hip here

I would like to use the leedroid 7.0 roms on my verizon htc 10. the main issue that i'm having is that , when I flash the rom my data isn't working right , right on the first boot up. this is where the problem mainly effects me. i have 2 step verification on my google account and i need my data and sms to work in order to finish the login process. i am not able to get code/email because network not activated. is there a zip i can flash after i flash rom in twrp , so that i can have the verizon apns and all that good stuff , .i love the leedroid roms . this is the only problem that keeps me from using it. would we be able to add the verizon option in aroma installer under network options to make it more easy to install? Would be a amazing implement and helpful to all us verizon devices. thanks leedroid.
You need to format your data. There is a problem with roms and encrpytion that stops the radios from working, and the only way to fix it is to format your data. I would suggest going into twrp, backing up your internal storage and then wiping your data.
I may be wrong, but im assuming you flashed the rom with no encryption, rather than WITH encryption (which is recommended).
Possibly the cause of your problem.
Its also worth making sure you know what firmware your phone has (MM or Nougat) and flashed the rom with the correct firmware setting. MM firmware is 1.95.401.X and Nougat for US is currently 2.28.XXX.X (it may be slightly different, but it will be around here somewhere)
I have tried encrypted and unencrypted , I do full wipes as i think its better than doing a dirty flash. I also format data and flash leedroid rom. The only way I could get it up and running was to bypass the setup initialization by modifying/deleting the apk from the zip file (Rom) completely. I have no issue with the radio not working , due to encryption status. Once I get in the rom with the modified zip . I can go straight to network and change it to ( global ) and the radios work , but it had slow network speed ( I do not have poor reception in my area) and numerous sms delivery errors. I am mainly trying to find a way to flash a zip in twrp to have radio working with verizon network upon (startup). Or the best option would be to have leedroid incorporate it in the aroma wizard in recovery for when all verizon users flash the new nougat roms on their devices, it fixes this no data on startup problem. All help and replies are much appreciated . Thank you
I've been trying various ROMs over the last few days on my VZW HTC 10. I only tried LeeDroid once (with the US Unlocked provider selected) but was unable to get any signal at all. I would love to get on LeeDroid, but i can't seem to get it to work on Verizon.
Just out of curiosity would the Viper10 Verizon script work on LeeDroid? I'm running Viper10 5.3.0 with the Verizon provider selected and all the features seem to be working, including Advanced Calling.
I will look into viper ROM and see if I can grab the Verizon data from it and use it in leedroid , just to see if it works . Thanks guys for your help
I have looked into viper rom but i could not figure out what to extract and put in leedroid rom. not that advanced yet lol

Viper ROM is completely independent of Lee's ROM. With Viper you would place the zip file you downloaded into the root of your SD Card, boot into TWRP, wipe, then install the Viper ROM.
I played around with LeeDroid on my VZW HTC 10 today and actually got everything except Advanced Calling to work. In fact I can't even find those settings in the ROM. I had to select Sprint as my provider and I was able to get both Cell & Data signals. My bet is that the Advanced Calling features are part of the build.prop changes, but I could be wrong and will probably dig in deeper tonight.
I'm still very new to this kind of development, but hopefully can leverage my comp sci/dev background to figure something out.
I would suggest going to the verizon thread and using this rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...m-perfumewl-m60-dev-edition-unlocked-t3442969
Not as fancy as leedroid, but its a nougat rom, specific for verizon, and our current MM Firmware. We will get nougat one of these days.
Maybe @LeeDroid can bake in the verizon parts in his next nightly
Still waiting on my VZW guys pulling a patch together unfortunately, would love to support you guys!
You could try the US Unlocked option & change to.telephony.default_network to 10 in build.prop

Yeah, i played with that ROM a bit yesterday. Its nice if you want Stock, but Stock is boring. Also Viper10 is fully functional on VZW, like I said above.

Thanks for the support @LeeDroid. I'm gonna do some analysis between various build.prop files in both LeeDroid & Viper10 to see if I stumble across anything interesting. I might try to peek at the various Verizon specific stuff that Viper10 has to see if anything there might be useful too. Once I can post in the Dev Threads I'll move my findings there, but until then I'll be posting anything I find here.
Guys.. I have just added Verizon support to my SVN for testing, Its R62.
If you want to give it a blast, you can manually check out or use one of my SVN zippers..
Let me know how it goes, more at www.leedroid.co.uk

I'm excited! Gonna try using one of the SVN Zippers. Gonna flash when I get home from work.
I guess I'll post the little bit of info I found while poking around in the build.prop files.
The only interesting settings I could find that seemed to relate to VZW Features that are missing from LeeDroid are the following:
ro.ril.vzw.feature=1
ro.config.svlte1x=true
