I noticed just now that my hboot is the 6.01.605.05 version and I'm on the .0312 radio. Weird thing is I rooted way back when my phone was still on 2.3.3. I'm still S-OFF too. I'm not too worried about it since I can still flash Roms and kernels at will.

I've been out of the loop for a little while so sorry for the noob question. A few weeks ago when the pri upgrade was made clear, I was able to successfully upgrade to 1.40. Now my question is, is there a way to upgrade the hboot above 0.76 easily and still have nand unlocked? Also are there any pros and cons to what version hboot one has?
Why do you want to change your Eng bootloader for. The .76 version is just fine.

I wasnt sure if there are any pros to the newest one. I know my current 76 is fine but I'm the type that thinks the latest is what we should have, lol.
From a lot of research I have done on here, some people have problems flashing roms like cm6 because of their newer bootloader. In my opinion. 76 is the best to have. Just a thought.

The .76 is a hot commodity for the new rooted ones...

Is there a way to backup the hboot version on the phone before trying an upgrade? Just in case the new one has issues.
Now I'be read up and correct ne if I'm wrong but this is the precedure.
Flash new .92hboot in stock hboot
Flash Rom and gapps in cwr
Flash 11.19radio in hboot
Coming from stock rooted w/ unrevoked one touch root.
Thanks in advance

Yeah that's all good. Make sure you check md5 sums match before flashing radios and the hboot.

Tend to do that before flashing anything. Thanks bud! Hope it goes all smooth

Just FYI, the 11.19 radio isn't required. I'm running 7.28 and its fine.
dont flash the radio.
You need a 2.15 radio, and there are about four to choose from if I remember right. Yes, the 11.19 is one, just wanted to let you know you're not limited to just that one.Doesn't really matter which. And personally, I would flash it second.
CM 7 will flash with 7.28 radio, CWM 2.5.1.2, and 7x hboot. Have it running on wife's dinc.
It runs just fine too.

So since the newest ota's contain bootloader .98 shouldn't running that completely unroot the device

Actually, some of it will be updated. Im adding everything thats been updated, and making an ODEX and DEODEX'd version for everyone and fixing some small bugs. This download is the one thing that wont be included and for full tech support from team blueridge you must update to this radio and hboot (only if you are Virgin Mobile USA)
I'm on virgin so triple yay!!!!!!!!!!

Will I have to re-unlock bootloader after this? Also, is the Goldcard S-OFF method compatible with this Radio/HBOOT?
Also, what radio version is this?
Soff before you upgrade, if you want to soff. Soff will always stick, along with unlock. You wont have to re-unlock the bootloader. The radio Im unsure of, but was included by HTC. And i can attest that the signal is way better for me atleast. It solved the problem where I was getting an error with too much data streaming. Hboot is v 1.10.0001
How long should it take to parse? It found the PG76IMG.zip, but it said it was parsing and never did anything. I waited 5-10 minutes. There wasn't a progress bar in the top right like normal, either.
I am having the same problem
Shouldn't take too long. The only thing I can think of is that your not S-Off

I'm not. When I follow the S-OFF tutorial, the Goldcard.exe app doesn't reformat so I reformat elsewhere and I continue the process after wiping on another computer and HBOOT tells me "Security Fail!" when I try to flash PG76DIAG.zip and PG76DIAH.nbh. However, since S-OFF problems aren't directly related to this, I'll post in the Blue Ridge thread or general.
You upgraded before soff... Downgrade to the oldest possible hboot ruu and then soff and then upgrade again
i installed it but the screen became off and now it doesn't start... what can i do to restore it? i can't also switch on the phone with vol - and power... please help me
this is VM only. But an ruu should do the trick
May I ask what's new?

A new radio with slightly better reception and a locked hboot.

What a rubbish update

I thought so too.

Its not "rubbish" its an update with a better radio, no recovery gets wiped, and if your smart your already soff so you can downgrade hboot if you wish. But if you want fastboot commands you must update your hboot, and unlock. Even With LOCKED at the top of the screen you can still flash whatever you want in zip form.. LEARN Before you post...
Im currently in the process of rooting my android HTC EVO 4g from sprint. Its 2.3.5 and baseband version 2.15.00.12.19

Look up unrevoked and use the one that says "unrevoked forever", then verify that your radio version is listed on there and get root using that

That's not going to work without becoming complicated. Unrevoked-forever only works on the radios that came with either Froyo or Eclair (It was patched when Gingerbread was released), which means that the whole operating system would have to be downgraded because the phone is not S-OFF to flash radios. There is no tool to S-OFF Hboot 2.18 directly.
