[BOOT ANIMATION] Nexus 7 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

This is the boot animation from the Nexus 7 tablet. It works great on my Galaxy Nexus and I thought I'd share it.
NOTE: This isn't a recovery-flashable zip.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Browse to /system/media, mount as r/w, and rename bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak (to preserve your current boot animation).
2. Place the attached file (n7-bootanimation.zip) into /system/media and rename it to bootanimation.zip
3. After you place and rename the file, make sure the permissions are corrected, as shown here:

NOTE: I'm not responsible for problems with your device. I also don't take credit for this boot animation... I didn't create it nor did I port it, pull it out of a ROM, or anything. A friend of mine sent me the file and I'm simply sharing it with you all (I didn't see another thread in here about it).

Should have linked the video.... can't see it on mobile.

That's cool. Takes 2 seconds in root explorer to move the .zip into place, though.

Why doesn't my nexus 7 have this biit animation? If only..

Sweet. Giving this a shot.

Real cool man, prefer this to the X animation, even though that's pretty cool too.

Works great, l forgot to rename the file :banghead:

Works perfect. Pretty cool actually.

I know i've linked it in another thread before, but for some reason i can't find it?

Works like a charm even tough its not HD as I would like, but anyways its pretty cool : D
THank you

Wow. This looks great! I'll definitely be keeping this on my phone for a while. Thanks a lot!

It would be totally awesome if a themer could 'fix' this boot animation. It always looks like the creator of the animation got drunk and cropped it wrong. The vertical invisible line separating from the rest. I dunno maybe just me.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I really gotta ask. Why put it in /system/media? The system looks first in /data/local so if you put it there, there are multiple advantages:
1) can be a larger file size (/s/m is limited)
2) easier to pull off with adb if you get a borked file
3) permissions are usually already good-to-go
4) you never have to replace the original file and have it should you need to return to stock
Otherwise, VERY nice animation. I was thinking it was going to be the standard JB one. Thanks for posting.

thanks for sharing mate..
tho..any chance we can get our hands some HD love?
since our Gnex screen is awesome??!!

Galactic Core Live Wallpaper

Hey guys,
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 2.
A friend of mine has a Galaxy S 2 on Sprint which comes equipped with a "Galactic Core Live Wallpaper" . I know that there is an app on the Marketplace called Galaxy Core Live Wallpapers which has about 10-15 other live wallpaper, but the quality and the animation in this application is just not the same as the original stock wallpaper on Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S 2s
I was wondering if there is a way to port this particular wallpaper from the Sprint or T-Mobile version to use on AT&T.
I believe if any of you guys have a rooted Sprint Galaxy S 2, using Titanium Backup you can backup the wallpaper apk and post it?
Again, I know about the application on Marketplace by A.O.I Studio but its just not the same
Thank you
check your pm.
I think this may work, not sure

I downloaded this attachment and tried to install it. It asked me to replace the current application and I said yes. It keeps saying "Application not Installed"
You think any reason for it/.??

Do I have to change the original stock rom you mean? from the AT&T Rom to Sprint rom?
I mean how can I just extract the apk?
and I download the file that 'tkemack' posted in the previous post and I tried to install it, but for some reason it wont let me.
It just ends up saying 'Application not installed' - Done
http://www.multiupload.com/NRE7WQ4I1W done, sent ya pm also op and anybody that wants others thats all of them from sprint touch.
yep thank you very much. That was the one. Although I thought the galaxy wallpaper was a live wallpaper but it looks like I am wrong.
Thanks again
It is a live paper. I'm not real good with thisbstuff, but I'm pretty sure the apk I posted won't install. You have to push it somewhere in the system files. Someone smarter than me will have to chime in. I simply extracted the "live wallpaper picker" from my phone which includes all of the live papers I have. They just need to be placed in the right directory. Someone like 12Many or John corleone would know

Yeah you are right . I AM looking for that wallpaper, but the Black Hole looks really cool too.
I tried the Astro File Manager way now.
I tried copying the file that you gave me from the SD Card to system/app folder but it wont let me. It said Read only file.
I havent tried replacing the file because I wasnt sure if it was safe. Do you know if it would be ok to replace the original file with the one you posted?
You should be fine, you are adding a file not taking them away. It's either gonna work or not. Again, I don't have much experience with this so.... Good luck!

Actually that didnt work either. Still says Read Only File.
Oh well... Guess I will have to live without it.!!
If you have root explorer you could try changing permissions to r/w

I have seen a mod where the icons on the bottom are completely different. It is pretty cool and seems to save the screen from burning the image.

It's not that hard , use some kind of explorer .. uhm ... in this case i suggest Root Explorer. go to system/app find SystemUI.apk and extract it. now go to the sdcard/SpeedSoftware/Extracted/SystemUI/res. All images for the buttons are in drawable-xhdpi folder, find some on the Themes and Apps thread. thn just copy and paste them there. zip the SystemUI folder, rename it SystemUI.apk thn move it to system/app, but change Mount from r/w to r/o thn paste it there. PULL OUT THE BATTERY and it's done. Hope it helps

Storm's Custom Boot Animations

Here are the current boot animations that I have made so far. If you have any requests for a bootani you would like made simply let me know and I will make it. I generally try to make my boot animations high quality however if I can't find a video or a gif that is HQ I might have to use something less then that.
Note if you have any requests please provide a link to the gif or to the video and I will get it made for you. I can do it in either landscape or portrait.
Simply follow the instructions on post 2 in order to put these on your phone. You MUST be rooted for these to work.

If you have any problems let me know and I will do my best to get it fixed for you.
As for right now the only place I can really upload these files to is DropBox if you know of a better place let me know and I will put them there.
Instructions
nandroid backup- never know what can happen, so backup first.
Use Root Explorer
When you open Root Explorer go to System then Bin.
Click on Mount R/W to allow you to perform edits.
Find the file named samsungani and rename samsungani to samsungani.bak (or delete)
Next find the file named bootanimation (note this is not the bootanimation.zip that comes later, this is a file already in the folder that is just named bootanimation) rename bootanimation to samsungani
Now go back to the System folder and go to the Media folder and make sure it is on Mount R/W
Find the file named bootsamsung.qmg and rename bootsamsung.qmg to bootsamsung.bak (or delete it)
Find the file named bootsamsungloop.qmg and rename bootsamsungloop.qmg to bootsamsungloop.bak (or delete)
Now you will put the bootanimation.zip you got from here and add bootanimation.zip to into the Media folder.
reboot
profit.
If you still have any questions let me know.

Yeah, it would be easier to just ask someone who is running CM10 for it though. Also there is a glare on the screen of the phone in that vid I wouldn't be able to get rid of that. Not to mention I would have to resize the pics to 720x1280 so the quality wouldn't be the greatest. I can still do it if you want though.

I had the same prob. What i did was when i went to permissions, i gave it read, write, execute for all groups: Owner, Group and Others. I think giving the permissions to Others was the thing that did it.
does not work at cm11
