Hey guys,
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 2.
A friend of mine has a Galaxy S 2 on Sprint which comes equipped with a "Galactic Core Live Wallpaper" . I know that there is an app on the Marketplace called Galaxy Core Live Wallpapers which has about 10-15 other live wallpaper, but the quality and the animation in this application is just not the same as the original stock wallpaper on Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S 2s
I was wondering if there is a way to port this particular wallpaper from the Sprint or T-Mobile version to use on AT&T.
I believe if any of you guys have a rooted Sprint Galaxy S 2, using Titanium Backup you can backup the wallpaper apk and post it?
Again, I know about the application on Marketplace by A.O.I Studio but its just not the same
Thank you
check your pm.
I think this may work, not sure

Kinda.
I downloaded this attachment and tried to install it. It asked me to replace the current application and I said yes. It keeps saying "Application not Installed"
You think any reason for it/.??

Do I have to change the original stock rom you mean? from the AT&T Rom to Sprint rom?
I mean how can I just extract the apk?
and I download the file that 'tkemack' posted in the previous post and I tried to install it, but for some reason it wont let me.
It just ends up saying 'Application not installed' - Done
http://www.multiupload.com/NRE7WQ4I1W done, sent ya pm also op and anybody that wants others thats all of them from sprint touch.
yep thank you very much. That was the one. Although I thought the galaxy wallpaper was a live wallpaper but it looks like I am wrong.
Thanks again
It is a live paper. I'm not real good with thisbstuff, but I'm pretty sure the apk I posted won't install. You have to push it somewhere in the system files. Someone smarter than me will have to chime in. I simply extracted the "live wallpaper picker" from my phone which includes all of the live papers I have. They just need to be placed in the right directory. Someone like 12Many or John corleone would know

How do I get to it?
Get a file explorer, astro or root explorer. Go to the top directory and you will see system folder, click then you will see app folder. Try placing it in there

Yeah you are right . I AM looking for that wallpaper, but the Black Hole looks really cool too.
I tried the Astro File Manager way now.
I tried copying the file that you gave me from the SD Card to system/app folder but it wont let me. It said Read only file.
I havent tried replacing the file because I wasnt sure if it was safe. Do you know if it would be ok to replace the original file with the one you posted?
You should be fine, you are adding a file not taking them away. It's either gonna work or not. Again, I don't have much experience with this so.... Good luck!
Sent from my Blazing ET4G
Actually that didnt work either. Still says Read Only File.
Oh well... Guess I will have to live without it.!!
If you have root explorer you could try changing permissions to r/w

Tbh someone needs to make a file manager with a good UI . Something that will integrate with ics UI design it would make it more user friendly or at least the way I imagine it in my head anyway. Like removing the long process for copy and pasting etc by using a layout similar to the new Gmail or something similar

I DID NOT MAKE ANY OF THIS. I SEARCHED GOOGLE FOR 8 HOURS TO FIND THE BEST FREE ICS APKS,LAUNCHER AND LIVE AND STANDARD WALLPAPERS TO CREAT THE BEST ICS LOOK FOR OUR PHONES. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.
OK was informed by a member the live wallpaper apk I found is a paid app in the market. The website i found it on did not mention that and i will not take a paid app from a developer and give it out for free. I have uninstalled it and will be buying it from the market sorry for the mistake. I have ckecked everything else I posted and they are not a paid app. a few standard wallpapers from the nexus prime. Ics launcher not available in the market. The launcher runs smooth and fast if you dont like having the ics soft buttons their is another launcher in the market that doesnt include them. Last but least the ics google music app.
DO NOT FLASH THE LIVE WALLPAPER ZIP!!!!!!! JUST DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. May have to extract the zip or rename it .apk

I was wondering if anyone has the Skyrocket messaging app available for our ET4G?
I tried grabbing the APK from a co-workers phone and installing it on FB27 (odex) from Calkulin's Rooted FB27 and it keeps force closing, I'm going to try the deodex version now
Is this how I can get that app on my phone or is there more to it than simply moving the app to my phone?
Your help and/or direction would be greatly appreciated!
*Update*
Unfortunately adding it to the deodexed version didn't work either, I'm grabbing the MMS.apk and the MMSprovisioning.apk from StockMod-2-UCLA3-0.2kernel rom in the Skyrocket forum on this site

I'm not going to rush you, if you're willing to do it I will patiently wait for you to complete the task and thank you for taking on this challenge
I was able to get the messaging app going on 2.3.6
I flashed the stock rooted rom, downloaded Calkulin's_E4GT_ROM_v2.9.2, unzipped it and plugged in the Skyrocket MMS into it, rezipped and it works
Unfortunately I would like for it to work on the ICS 4.0.3
Thank you again Mattix724 for taking on this task during your free time, maybe you can PM me when your done
I did the same thing but can't get it to work on mms. Send and received text just fine though. Maybe I did something wrong. May play with it a little more.
If you have any linux background it should be an easy task. I am probably getting my laptop out of pawn tomorrow so I'll see if taking the drawables from the skyrocket and using those with our stock mms. They both have the same size screen so I don't think anything needs to be re-sized.

Did you send the MMS to yourself or did you send it to someone else? I sent a message to myself and noticed it did it over 3G instead of 4G like I had connected, still haven't received the reply yet... so I guess MMS doesn't work, bummer
I did notice there are different settings associated with the app too like "Input Mode: SMS input mode to compose message>GSM alphabet > Unicode > Automatic" and "Creation Mode: MMS creation mode for compose message>Restricted > Warning > Free
Odd
Yeah I sent it to myself. It looks like it goes out. But don't recieve it. Probably has to do with it being for GSM and this being CDMA. No worries.
well I was able to decompile the Mms.apk and found out why we can't send multimedia messages, there is an XML file that is pointing to the ATT servers so that mms goes through them, I was able to change this and now my Mms gets a Force Close...
I yet have acquired the skill to change this without FC, I'm going to work on it though

It would be totally awesome if a themer could 'fix' this boot animation. It always looks like the creator of the animation got drunk and cropped it wrong. The vertical invisible line separating from the rest. I dunno maybe just me.

I really gotta ask. Why put it in /system/media? The system looks first in /data/local so if you put it there, there are multiple advantages:
1) can be a larger file size (/s/m is limited)
2) easier to pull off with adb if you get a borked file
3) permissions are usually already good-to-go
4) you never have to replace the original file and have it should you need to return to stock
Otherwise, VERY nice animation. I was thinking it was going to be the standard JB one. Thanks for posting.
thanks for sharing mate..
tho..any chance we can get our hands some HD love?

Ok. so if you read this thread before you may know that I was supposed to upload
a Shutdown and boot animation.
The shutdown animation is below with the other .zips
but if not here it is the link to the dropbox download
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sl10c7cs90vv12a/shutdownanimation.zip
as where the boot animation which was the oversized one here is the link as well
https://www.dropbox.com/s/excbutu7sblkqgj/General Cyan.zip
and this third link is for some UI sounds like the keyboard.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhdl1ui4gyelfn2/UI_Sounds.zip
i mainly did it for the keyboard and then said wt heck! and recorded, with my latino voice, just some sounds
like there is a bootsound that asks to wait while the system powers on, sort of simulating a personal assistant.
ehh i just recorded it an applied a room effect, so its nothing fancy. i play with the sounds later on.
The keyboard i should say has somewhat of a psycho theme
pistol shots-(that sound more like a laser shot) for the Standarkeypress
gun load --- for space
gigitty laugh--- for Return
and a (NOooOo) yell for the Delete key, tried it. i like it.
now for the other Ui sounds remember its pretty much my voice and my English is not perfect but i think it is understandable. lol
i hope somebody likes them, and
remember to properly name the animations and change its permissions to 644 == rw-r-r
and if you do use the sounds note that they are .mp3s but have to be named to .ogg just the extension though, and permissions change as well.
I Think this animation set is better then the others i uploaded.
So I bit the bullet and installed. It's actually pretty nice. I like the animation on the G. Giant android isn't bad (maybe not my favorite but I'll live with it). Excellent work! Definitely nice to have something different than the normal AT&T boot animation. :good:

Ok as i had said i would try to put up a bootanimation for this phone.
It really started because i dont like the stock animation aso i wanted one for myself but then i said why not share it and make it a little more general.
Note that i am not a graphical designer and my skill with photoshop are not as vast as i would want.
but here it is.
Just make sure to check the permission of the file once you place it in you sytem/media/ make sure they are set to rw-r-r
and to change the name to bootanimation.zip. hope you like it

Is there any way you could also upload a .gif of the animation so we can check it out so we don't bite the bullet without knowing what it would look like?

Ok I can't copy the file to that directory. I've tried several different root explorers and it keeps telling me permission denied or just doesn't say anything and fails to copy. WTF? And yes I am rooted.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

i would not have a proper answer for that,

Did you change permissions on the folder before you tried copying files into it? I use Solid Explorer and I set the folder permissions to drwxrw-rw- then copy my files in. After done, I set the directory back to drwxr--r--.

I screwed up my /system/media/ folder to the point of no boot animations. Could you post the stock contents of this folder so I have animations again?
