Update on HTC one x wifi antenna issue INDIA - HTC One X

Hey guys,
I've had this wifi antenna issue since long as my phone is from the first batch.
Been to HTC workshop but got a really stupid answer for my wifi antenna issue "he said we are coming up with a software upgrade and that night just fix your antenna issue" not arguing with him I just left and want to know if anyone of you guys have sent your fone to workshop a d what was the result repairing or replacing....
Hope to get a feedback from some Indians who are using HTC one x with wifi antenna issue.
Thanks

I don't find that an issue at all..although never noticed it on my HOX..coz I am not in a habit of holding my HOX in such a way so that I can press the exact spot between Volume Up and Camera n watch my WiFi signal go down by 2 bars

And there was no need to create a new thread..u could have asked this in the Indian Owners thread..don't make the forum crowded n confusing..

and you should have read what the wifi fault is all about. wifi gets BETTER when you push the spot on the back. so its a hardware fault and no user fault.

Sorry buddy if u feel it's crowded but I really see the need to create a new thread.... Thanks for your awesome reply I am sure your answer is creating a confusion I clearly asked has one sent the fone to workshop and did not ask or an option on how to hold the phone and ignore a factory fault in the device.... So good luck holding your device and not pressing and be happy with your hox
Thanks for your time and reply

Don't live in India, but have a HOX intended to be sold there. WiFi fluctuates at times, but the three times I've tried the squeeze test my signal actually dropped (good thing). Just give HTC a ring rather than going into the store

Since there is a Indian owners thread, it would have made sense posting there.
As for your issue, its reverse death grip like N3m3515 mentioned. If your wifi improves on squeezing the region between volume and camera, you have the issue.
And for HTC Service center in India, just put a sofware like wifi analyzer on your phone to prove you're facing the reverse death grip and argue with them about it being a hardware issue and not software issue. I haven't dealt with them, I myself am facing this issue but my warranty is in the UAE and trying to get it fixed here(India) is chargeable by $35(cost of sending it to an international htc service center -_-)
So I have to wait till I go back to the UAE and hope they don't catch my phone having been unlocked by HTC Dev.

Hello, I am from india and looking for buying a new phone. Can you please tell me what are the problems and disadvantages of HTC ONE X.

I had the WiFi issue and I got the same reply when I called HTC support. Subsequently, I went to the service center and explained the issue in detail. I was issued a DOA immediately. If this does not help, you can write to [email protected] and [email protected] explaining your problem and demanding that your phone be fixed or replaced. Also, make sure you are actually facing the problem.. a lot of people (like LakshayX) don't understand the issue and few others are simply paranoid. The only way you can get your phone fixed is to keep following customer support and escalating the issue till you get a satisfactory reply. Hope that helps.

[Q] One V Death Grip Prob

Hi...Anyone noted signal drop in wifi and radio signal when holding the in normal position?
Oh yes, I'm happy because I have an iPhone 4 feature :-(
Yes even i feel the signal drops when u hold it in a certain way. Not very sure where though.
I'm not losing signal (yet) but it definitely is dropping 1-2 bars.
Will a case help like it did for the iPhone deathgrip?
edit: fail, somehow i was in the V instead of X forum. but sounds like the same problem for all of them from what I'm reading/experiencing.

I think you were out of your element (somebody had to say it!)
mine too. when I put it on the table I got 4-5 bars. but when I pick up the phone to reply a message, my signal drops a.k.a. No Service... ****. it's supposed to be a great budget phone, isn't it? if this death grip is one of their feature, this feature is definately uncool.
if this problem can be fixed, they better fix it soon..
Just use the one V for a short period of time but did not encounter this problem.

Same here..
My One V absolutely does not have this problem. Neither did the unit reviewed by gsmarena.com:
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_v-review-750p7.php
We tested the phone for death-grip and we didn't find any problems - Wi-Fi signal drops if you completely cover the top plastic panel on the back, but the reception still remains quite strong. Cell signal didn't budge.

I also have this problem. My One V always drop 2 bar when I pick up the phone. While other mobile with the same network, the signal is full.
I contacted Call center once. He told me it's because of my network operator. I should try other operator but I don't want to change my number.
So, I still hope new firmware will solve this issue.

Screen Flickering, What a joke.

ok so heres the thing. i got my second htc one x yesterday and it was absolutely fine . its HT24 btw. today the device started to flicker again, which was the cause the replaced the device in first place. i contacted htc directly. first of all i contacted htc uk, and asked them whether the screen flickering issue will be resolved by a software update. the surprise here is that the operator told me the issue was fixed in 1.28 OTA. well whats being said on the forums is that the issue was not resolved in both 1.28 and 1.29 updates. on another thread here, a person said that he contacted htc and they told him that an update (after 1.29) is due to come and must solve this screen problem. i just dont understand whats the real deal here is. a group in htc says that the problem is solved and any other problems are hardware and require a replacement, others say that it will be solved in an update soon. In both cases, htc operators say that htc knows about the issue. Well is this a kind of a joke or something? i have a 720$ phone that has screen issues, and every person at htc gives me a different answer. any help would be appreciated, as i personally have no idea what do.
you've referenced three different topics on the exact same issue, was there a need to start yet another one, whilst adding no new information?

We've all read a lot, discussed the issue. Most of us have been onto HTC and complained. Sit and wait like the rest of us.
The whole idea of the thread is to discuss the issue in ONE thread. Then people know where to look, not everyone starting their own.

first you need to clarify if we are talking about LCD backlight flicker or LCD edge ripple or random glitches
if you mean the glitches its sorted by 1.29, if you mean LCD edge ripple its a trait if the One X laminated screen
if you mean backlight flickering we discussed the issue with HTC and they said they figured it out and working on update after 1.29
further info about this relates to a main feature on Tegra3 which controls backlight dynamically to reduce poet consumption, the feature is called prism, if you pull a dmseg log from your device you will see tegra interacting with backlight all the time which might the root if the issue, ie software
one of our developers shaky is looking into it and also saying its software
Asus Transformer prime had the issue and it was sorted under much effort from Nvidia and Asus
and finally nevemind HTC hotline they can't answer what they don't have a script for, keep in mind they have to deal with hundred of devices
we have two flicker threads filled with info we dont need another
Alright thanks for your help hamdir, i meant the backlight flicker and i hope the problem is software as everybody is saying

Neither do all the people politely posting in the two existing threads that have been running on this for weeks. Your comments and situation are no different than anyone else’s thus making the start of a new thread pretty lazy on your part.
The last report (contained in the other two threads) is that on May 2 HTC said they identified the issue causing the graphics problems and are working on an update. That's all anyone here knows and if that changes it'll be posted in the other two threads.
In the absense of any other info your choices are the same as everyone elses.
1) Wait for the update and trust HTC gets it right.
2) Return of sell your phone and get something else.

You really suggested people should trust HTC to get it right?!
Have you seen the ONE X section? It is one disaster after another. What HTC should do is order a global recall, develop another year and try again in 2013. I've seldomly seen a big company fail this hard. I honestly hope they go near bankrupt because of it, so they never pull off **** like this again.
I got my money back today after my 3rd one, even the shop said "don't trade again or buy another one, as they are all flawed."

[Q] How to send HTC One X to death?

Hello Guys,
don't ask why! I need a way to brick a HTC ONE X. It does not have to be permanently but at least enough that it can not be restored (besides by HTC themselves). Also it would be nice if it does not leave too obvious traces (so no physical damage).
I thought about a bootloader update (with unplugging the cable in the "wrong" second) but I am open to other suggestions.
I onloy know how to flash Samsung Galaxy Series, so please link to sources for needed software.
Thanks in advance

i saw one on youtube. they are working. surely it will make your one x into a brick (literally)
here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk4adP2Pi-Q
You can disassemble the phone and using a piece of Aluminium foil or steel wool, connect all the solder connections randomly while the phone is ON until phone suffocates.
If your intentions is wasting the phone for fun then :
1- Look for the HTC logo on the back
2- Make a small "x" exactly 3 mm below the "T"
3- Through the "x" you marked, Drill using a fine 10mm drillbit until you can feel back of the screen
4- Continue drilling until you can see the drillbit on the other side of the phone.
I didnt see any moderators say anything but........ This is not an appropriate question to open post. Not trying to rain on your parade, Im all for getting new stuff. You dont want to get caught up in defrauding AT&T or HTC, google this you'll find alot about people getting caught. If you really need to get a new phone opps it fell in the pooper. Be carefull when asking stuff like this, you really should be asking someone you know via pm or email.

It was an accident and I can tell you.. Its not a good sensation... kkk

My wifi has stopped working

Randomly today my wifi won't connect to my router. It's not my router that's the problem as I can connect other devices fine. The phone just doesn't see the router. I've tried two routers and it just doesn't show either in range. The only way I can get it to connect is if I stand right next to the router I get a connection but no signal bars and it doesn't let me browse the Web or anything.
I read the wifi signal fault thread and I tried to squeeze the handset and boom I got some more bars of signal!! I never had this problem before. My phone is unlocked so I'm screwed...

Unlocking didn't cause the problem, so according to htcs warranty you're still covered. This problem is known by htc as I'm sure you know
If you are from UK, the law is on your side anyways so you don't need to worry.
You can either repair yourself, but I'd recommend getting it done properly
If htc give you problems about repairing it free of charge under the warranty, let us know

Seriously dude, don't bother wasting your time sending it to HTC getting it fixed. You will lose your phone for a long time and have a nightmare because of the unlocked bootloader.
Either get it repaired from where you bought it, or fix it yourself. It honestly is very easy to fix and takes about 10 minutes.

I do understand, but if op is from uk then all is good, htc can try and say no, but all it takes is them to realise you're going to take it to small claims court and win, and they'll back down without a doubt
They wouldn't let it go as far as court

Vibrator not work after drop. ??

Hey guys wanna help
I dropped my at&t HTC ONE X. Now digitizer cracked but touch work fine....Its ok...But my problem is no vibration effect for any event silent mode, calls , msgs .....
due to drop does it loose connection with vibrating motor? Any suggestions ?
thanks
Take it apart and check for loose connections. But search for a helpfull thread in the AT&T HTC one XL forum. That is its specific forum for your phone. This is for the Endeavouru type international hox.
Outside is the same some hardware and software are different
Love the title of this thread lol
