For external microphones like headsets.
Yes, since kindle fire stock rom has not got any microphone drivers. While jellybean does. they need to enable it somehow.

Not all of apps will work. You could a recording app songify
Yup. Buying a TRRS adapter for normal TRS audio input and output is supposed to work as well.
I've found that it works great with iPod/iPhone headphones though. They are the best

kindle fire hd has microphone. If you record a video, you'll see that it also records the sounds.

This is because currently the kernel doesn't support it. There was hope (I think) that Hashcode's 3.x kernel would solve it, but it didn't. He still works on it, but I don't know the thread or I would send you there. MoDaCo supports it, and I was thinking that cm7 worked, but if you say it doesn't, I'll take your word on it.
@Hash
@Hashcode
Just stupid question: will be the mic supported in coming ROMs or is for a long time postponed ?
Does this work on the latest roms or are we just waiting for the kernel to have this compatible?

It's not necessarily a kernel issue, but it doesn't work on any cm10 or up currently.

As it is popular in top box and in iphone
Now it is rocking on Galaxy Note and Galaxy s3 and HTC one X
¤ Not a remote, not a thin client; the real deal. No root or jailbreak required.
¤ XBMC can be launched as an application on your set-top-box, tablet, phone, or wherever else Android may be found.
¤ The feature-set on Android is the same that you have come to expect from XBMC, no different from its cousin on the desktop.
¤ Running your favorite media-center software on small, cheap, embedded hardware is about to become a hassle-free reality.
¤ And as Android-based set-top-boxes are becoming more and more ubiquitous, it couldn’t be a better time.
¤ In fact, primary development was done on a Pivos XIOS DS set-top-box. And that is no coincidence, you will notice that Pivos is now listed as an official sponsor (more on that later).
¤ It is in under development of XBMC.... With more features
I will get the updates here when the XBMC worked on it as i Open source i have presented here
Enjoy
¤ XBMC is stable and works great there, as well as on various tablets and phones. Though with Android, as many of you probably know, that is only the beginning of the story.

For ext sd card go to Add Videos - Browse - Root Filesysystem - mnt - extSdCard and then select the folder you want.
For audio when playing movies: - touch you screen so you can see the controls etc . Press on the speaker symbol (right bottom). Change volume to 0.0dB. I guess that should do the job.
Hope this all works for you!

I am seeking help or knowledge about an issue with Cyanogenmod 10 stable. Does anyone know if it has USB Host support. I want to hook my XBOX 360 controller up to an on the go adapter to play games. I'm doing research online it can be done and most devices recognize controllers immediately. Mine does nothing when I plug it up. I downloaded an app can use joystick center test app and it detected the controller but didn't respond to any of the test. My wife is running Infamous resurrection ICS. It also doesn't seem to detect it.. So, am I missing something? I also tried turning on and off USB debugging..

This has no detrimental changes besides they believe it is good enough to be used in between nightlies, as nightlies are more prone to have big changes that break things.

Same problem here. Does anybody know why or if there's a fix? It's driving the kids - and by extension me - nuts not being able to browse properly!
Need to update to the latest Fire TV firmware.
I'm trying to ascertain if that's advisable for a rooted device or not ... seems odd that a non-installed update can make a difference. Wonder what netflix are doing differently?
You Must Update to latest Firmware
Updated to 5.2.01 - Netflix works perfect so ive downgraded again to 505.. Netflix is again with errors.
Tryed also android tv apk ,.. Same error - only Netflix Android App for Mobile Devices works but you can't navigate via AFTV Remote
