DLNA (allshare app) tried it yet?

I haven't seen this posted/mentioned yet, if so, ma bad!
I'm sure a bunch of people have tried this before, but some may have not.
If you haven't, go to the "allshare" app in your app drawer and check it out. It works beautifully! No need for HDMI cables etc, all wirelessly.
You need a allshare compatible device (most devices are now days, built in TVs, blue rays, etc), somewhat fast internet connection, that's it!
I watched a couple movies this way on my 50" HD tv, videos from phone, pictures...playback quality is outstanding with no lag or anything. I was pretty impressed to say the least.

I mainly use it on my ps3. Yeah it works like a charm. I have loved it since my Tmobile Vibrant days.

Damn, I just deleted it yesterday without making a backup.

I use it for my Divix movies and photos and music/videos. but yeah mp4's are not supported on the ps3.
Oops I ment 3gp thanks for the correction Jamesy.

Actually mp4's are supported, the actual encoding from the epic touch is 3gp. It would be nice if all share would stream/encode simultaneously to correct where Sony is slacking

I didn't have much luck with 1080 videos and especially ones from the camcorder. I think I've seen it choke on 720 too. High video bitrates make the wireless network choke. The players are buffering every few seconds so it's unwatchable. The Codec recorded with on the phone sometimes the player on the TV end doesn't like it. Like my epic 4g, the sony Blu-Ray player doesn't like that and refuses to play.

There is also a allshare player that is free in the Samsung app store that acts like a remote foe controlling your media. It compliments the allshare app. Give it a try.

Is there a way to wirelessly TV out of your screen to the tv. I have an MLS cable and it is pretty nice amd worth the cheap price you can find them for. Allshare is great but it doesnt support everything.

Oh hell yeah I love Tiffs honey. ICS themes to me are too plain. I like alot of detail and Honey has loads of it. Just look at this. WoW.

I give Tiff all my love thanks. I run no other theme since finding this gem.

Ok this is a test. I've been tryin to upload apk's and have been failing so I'm gonna give it a shot for metal. I alred PM'd him. Here goes.
Ok found my prob. For some reason I cant use rootexplorer to upload on a post. I ended up using es file exp. Root exp just wont jive for me.

The attachment worked Thanks for posting it! Gonna install it and see if i can get it to work.
edit: Got it pushed to system/app and set the permissions but it won't work or even show up in my apps list. I think i might need the .odex file too. Any way you can post that for me? If xda won't let you upload it maybe try changing the extension to .doc or something and I'll just change it back. TIA

anyone one got this downloaded and working for the HOX , theres a beta version out for the HOX according to their forums but cant find it in google play or anywhere else as its a free app any links would be great

I'm in uk,the app is not supposed to support ICS but reading on the tvcatchup forums thetes a few comments on there about people having it working on the one x.the app posted must be corrupt as when I put it on the phone it will not install and says trouble paraising package

Posted Apk appears to be corrupt, used the link above that and it installed fine. Currently watching BBC with no problems

Hi the app is not corrupt as if you download it with the dolphin browser it will turn it into a zip file, so download it with your native browser.
If you want the latest ICS supported Beta version then PM me on the forums.

No probs

Does anyone know if it works with the Media Link HD? I won't have an arial point in my room next year so freeview is going to be effort, if I can stream this app though to my TV then I will have no issues. Not really fussed if the quality aint all that, I'm used to SkyGo on Xbox being crap lol

I've Been using it with a MHl cable it works fine although as you say not the best quality picture but I could live on it if I had to, don't see why the media link wouldn't work although I'm sure I read somewhere the earlier media link has issues with the one x

It isn't any less private than the regular Facebook app. This is a really tiny launcher that just pulls everything from the app and displays it to you front and center. You can still access all the stuff on your phone easily, but I don't care that much about Facebook so I don't gain anything from using this. It's not bad, just not for me.

It does run on mine just said "not available in your country" in the market so i had to side load it. It probably just checks the build.prop once its installed and im on CM 10.1 so my prop says N7105

I think it would be nice on phones like the Galaxy Ace or a Wildfire S. Just the smaller lower end phones because i hang around with university girls all the time and thats what they have and they use them for Facebook 24-7. But im an 18 year old guy i dont use facebook much besides chatting and i don't exactly enjoy a distorted blown up cover photo that looks like it was taken with a potato as my background instead of the HD backgrounds im used to. I like the concept of the floating head chat just for multitasking but that's about it

This is pretty much how I feel about it. I actually really like the floating chat heads and luckily you can use them without Home installed. They can also be used with regular SMS so that's a plus!

Anyone else get an error when you install this. Not really an error but
I get the FACEBOOK HOME I tap it and it gives me an error saying facebook home is not available on your device yet.

I found this link to this app that let's Chromecast users, stream content directly from their phone to the TV.....
Unfortunantely I don't have mine yet :crying::crying: But was just sharing what I found.. For those that do have there Chromecast already!:good:

Yes but you might have to root your Chromecast.. It's here on XDA..the how to is here...
And there's also a new all cast app. With the time bomb removed...

I've been looking into it. Can u play local files no problem? I just tried avia and it played back choppy.... I'm going to look into it and see if it can play better.

Yes no problem playing back files. But if your Chromecast updated already then your outta luck on the rooting process...
Once they update they renew the vulnerable bootloader that came with the device...
Just search Chromecast on XDA.

The file posted in OP is for all devices.
I love the new interface (esp the floating video within the app).

Now if there was a way to detach a playing video from the app, the way Facebook chat conversations get detached, that would be amazing!

The update looks great so far but it would be nice if there was an option to get landscape full-screen even when you had rotation lock. Now I have to enable auto rotation on system wide if I want it to be enabled.

Still doesn't allow background playback, which is quite sad. Great multi-tasking feature though, like it!

Lag out the butt when you bring up the nav bar. Happens on both my N7 and N4. Both are stock.

I noticed it is definitely a downgrade in video quality.

I haven't noticed a decrease in quality myself but am always running it on a modded rom...

Just did a side by side last night with my friends tablet and there is a huge decrease in quality. Reverted back to the old version. It also crashed my note 2 twice...just froze the device.
