[Q] Flash Player not present?

Does anyone know whether we will be getting flash, I know they've pulled support, but are we in line?
If not is there a work around to get an older version to work? I know the SDK port had a working flash so it would seem to be possible right?

I found out the lack of support last night, I'm surprised how much I miss it already!

Hi, sorry if this has been discussed before, but I got my Galaxy Nexus today and noticed I can not download Flash player or play flash players in browser? It comes up as incompatible in the market place! Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah i've just picked mine up today and noticed this.
Flash player not visable in the market on the handset and when viewed on my laptop it says its incompatible with the device. I hope there is a work around for this.

Any chance you just have to enable plugins in the browser?

Did you guys miss the demo on flash death to mobile devices...

Yes, because Apple can't just turn off Flash on the web. It's still everywhere, it will be everywhere for a long time.
Maybe you were being sarcastic ..duno

But if flash isn't made for the device it won't work so it wouldn't allow for flash stuff on websites

Yup, the latest honeycomb version would install, but didn't do anything else.
Edit: Well, BBC news website no longer said 'you don't have flash player installed' and it showed the icon in the middle of where the vid should be, but wouldn't try and play it.

Its not optimized on ICS, I think I read online somewhere that its getting worked on

I've tried latest Honeycomb and Gingerbread flash players, neither worked.
Also, Google had said it's coming so we just need to wait a bit.

It was already announced that Adobe would be updating Flash to work on ICS. The estimated timeframe is sometime at the end of December, from what I remember reading, can't remember exactly where I read it.

Facebook app update (16-Dec-12) incompatible with Galaxy Nexus?

I was happy to see the new facebook update on my Nexus7 - much better than the old crappy app.
However, it seems new update it incompatible with my Galaxy Nexus!
Is it just me? Yesterday it said that the app is incompatible with my device, and then I uninstalled it hoping that a re-install would solve the issue. Now Facebook app is not even getting listed for my phone. See the screenshot.

Works for me. Try clearing Google Play data from settings.

No, it didn't solve the issue, still it is listed as incompatible. (I manually copied the apk from Nexus7 and got the app working though)
May be it is my DPI setting? I use 280 instead of 320 dpi.

I have already installed it by copying the apk from my Nexus7. Thanks.
It may be the DPI. Will revert back to 320 temporarily, and check.

not sure if this prob is solved but for ino , just bought a nexus factory reset apon sale, had 4.2 ota installed just went play market and installed fbook no probs.

Bug found on facebook.

It's your dpi. You need a dpi fixed play store or this will happen to all apps. If you want to change DPI, ParanoidAndroid is made for that and doesn't have this issue

BBM apk - Working

The long awaited Blackberry Messenger has made its debut on Android.
The previously leaked apk wasn't working. And it's not yet up on the PlayStore as promised.

NOT WORKING ANYMORE. THE REASON BELOW
BBM Finally gave light to the reason why there was a delay. It is caused by the leaked apk that recently surfaced online. It wasn't the final version of the app (and contained bugs), but still managed to get "over 1.1 million active users in the first [eight] hours."
While Blackberry is pretty happy about the response, this caused some issue with the system which caused them to delay the release of the apk.
To correct these issues, the leaked version of the app will be disabled, rendering it useless.

Doesnt seem to be working for me... Just takes me to the RIM website saying its down for maintenance. If i exit the app it then just hangs at setting up bbm...
EDIT: got it working! just by being persistant... took like 20 attempts lol.

My pin is 75F493EB. If someone wants to try out the chats... I don't know how to use this

Just to know, how did you get this APK?? I'm in the Beta Program of Facebook, and they still use the same layout for me

Found it on android police, hmmm strange, it worked for me once I had to reinstall after disabling auto update though then it gave me the new ui

Yes very strange, I Uninstalled my Facebook from Google Play and Auto Update is off for all apps.. But I'm with the same ui..

Hmmm, if this is a server side thing, I don't get why it works for me, I'm signed up to The beta yeah, but some people are saying that it doesn't work for them, despite being in the program :/

First of all I tried to update, it failed, so I uninstalled Facebook and installed the new one, it worked fine first time, but then reverted to the old ui, so I unticked auto update, then uninstalled it and reinstalled it, now it works, although the play store tells me that there is an update available, I'm just ignoring it

google assistant not working

I have updated to the latest play services, but Google assistant isn't activating or turning on. Has anybody had any luck getting it on their op3.

Its a server side thing... you either can hack around it using a flashable zip or you wait for max a few weeks

It's all about the search app. I have Google assistant ATM without flashing anything running freedomos but I'm in the beta for Google search so maybe join the beta?

That be activated via apilevels as I'm on Nougat (api24)

It is staged rollout. Country by country.

It works now. If you're on the latest Google and Play Services apps. Clear data and cache for Google app and reboot. Hold home button to enable.

Can you provide the version numbers from your phone? We can try installing those versions from apkmirror?

For me it worked on OOS but ON LOS now its still now on tap.

Hmm, tough luck. Installing these versions and clearing Google App data didn't help. A restart also didn't help. I will let it settle for sometime.
