sometimes it disconnects itself due to continuous Data transfer in between adb and phone......so
To avoid interruption between ADB and Your phone.
i personally recommend it, rest is on your side.

try these steps and try to replace boot.img
(by copying boot.img file only inside the folder),from any other working roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749212
older version of boot.img incompatible with black screen devices.
I've never had a recovery with a black screen [on any of my devices and I've tested my share of crappy recoveries]. The stock RUU recovery option sounds better OR flash a working recovery through fastboot. The whole point of a recovery is to have a tool by which you can reset/recover your device. If I have to drive in to a workstation and do an adb plug-in anytime I want to use recovery.. I'm sorry, but I'd seek a better solution. And that's without considering the security risks associated with dropping a firewall and adding a java dev kit. I would in fact, if I had experienced such, find out:
1. Why the blackscreen occurred
2. Fix it
3. Take preventative measures so that it would not occur again.
But that's just me. I wouldn't build a tool to propigate my device's bad behavior.

its fully upon users ,weather they are using it on firewall on or off.(it will work on both the conditions if the "adb" have the access to the port)
its just a recommendation from my side. That's it
Its fully safe from my end and free from any type of virus.
as i have already said this tool is not mine. Please consult the owner of this tool linked on first page of this Thread For future reference.
i don't know why this "black screen recovery" Problem is there with all the newly manufactured WFS.
Why occurred?
1. I am rooting and reflashing CWM on old wfs without any problem.(even rooted for the first time)
2. the same above is not working with any newly manufactured devices.(all working well but With a black CWM recovery)
3. My doubts are pointing, its a fault of hardware,or any kind of display adapters Upgradation from HTC Side.(May be HTC is planning to give supports like ICS etc for future)
4.Also Some rooting errors can be the catch,(Again if HTC upgraded something)
4.CWM is fully working without any error.(Blindly)
5.only the four keys are lighting up,
6.This tool is The only option in that case to flash any custom ROMS.

this guy already made two threads asking how to install this rom and was answered multiple times.
HERES THE SUREFIRE WAY TO INSTALL THIS ROM
permaroot the phone (not temproot...permroot it, this is pretty important)
install clockwork mod recovery (you can find it in market)
boot into recovery (hold your volume rocker downwards while starting the phone then click recovery)
Install from zip and you're done.
If these steps do not work then there's the alternate method...
throw phone out the window of a moving vehicle. (make sure you throw it really hard)
then in 2 days come back to the place you threw it, not only will the rom be installed but you will also have overclock to power levels of over 9000.
Hi guys. So my GF has this Samsung Galaxy S (Sprint Epic SPH-D700) ... I think I've got the right section. (EDIT: nope. ty kennyglass123. sorry about that :/)
She drops her phone, display stops functioning. However, the device still works - touchscreen is responsive, boots well, etc. The only thing she needs from it is her contacts. "Easy, Google has it, right babe?" ... "No, when it asked me if I wanted to sync with Google I said 'no'" ...
So, I'm wondering if there's a way to grab the contacts that are theoretically stored on internal memory without seeing the screen. Can't connect to PC because device requires input on it, which I can't see. Cell stores can't help because their transfer machines require the same input. Basically I'm wondering if it's possible to do 1 of 2 things before going ahead with an LCD replacement (which I'm comfortable with doing, just a question of money given that she has a different device she can use and she's off-contract now).
Is there a way to extract using something like ODIN or some command-line tool that forgoes the need for too much device-screen input?
Can anyone possibly provide screenshots of the usb-plugin process as it looks on the device? (once USB cable is plugged in and my PC makes the connected ding, if I could see the relative location of the necessary selections I could just hit it blind). My device is a SGS3 and the process is very different, I just have no clue what parts of her screen to touch. This is only helpful if I can use something (Like KIES) on the PC-end to extract something from the device.
Any other ideas would be phenomenal
Please post questions in Q&A

Got an idea. Suppose you have USB debugging already on. Connect to PC (make sure driver's installed) and use ADB to copy the contact database out for use on other Android devices (maybe it'll work, maybe it won't)
I'll get you some detailed commands and operations if you need more help.

Export to SD card
Well, simple way would be to work off of screenshots from a stock Epic, then export the contacts to the SD card. This way you could work blindly on the touchscreen itself, but orient your finger via the screenshots.
I used stock FC09 multiboot, since I'm on AOKP M6.

Step 2: View attachment 1481545

you guys rock ty so much for replying.
USB debugging is apparently not enabled . this is probably the most ideal way to go though.
Very awesome of you to provide screenshots. i've tried this a number of times and i have a feeling she doesn't actually know where here contacts icon is. and no touch feedback. any chance you would be so kind as to provide screenshots for enabling USB debugging? assuming menu key from homescreen allows for settings, you can start from there. I would then be able to use the ADB method. if i'm asking for too much please don't feel obligated or anything.
Got an idea. You're on stock ROM? Then flash CWM via Odin download mode, reboot into recovery. CWM has ADB enabled by default. Try it. I may not be able to provide further details but I think this will work if you're familiar with the steps of Odin
Oh yeah, and you may have to manually mount /system and /data to access files... If you need to know how to use CWM in the blind I could flash back to CM7 (recovery's almost the same) and tell ya how you should navigate to the correct items with the directional keys on the QWERTY keyboard.
Would like to be of help

Stock roms have keyboard short cuts and I'm pretty sure one of them is to open contacts. If someone can tell u what that shortcut is then u can use it along with the screenshots to export them to ur sd card.

Huh? My suggestion is for times when you want your system files backed up without display... And you maybe trying to use it normally as a phone? Rethink.
However if you know what your ROM looks like after boot (requires you to be VERY familiar with the phone) you should be able to blind operate well. Best of luck to ya.

While searching for a method to root the JB build for the yarvik tablet of my family (usual methods have not been successful), i stumbled upon the following Windows based method that now i want to share and should work with a lot more devices:
On your PC:
1. Install USB/ADB drivers from your manufacturer's website
2. Install & connect via http://www.moborobo.com Management Tools, loads own device specific ADB-drivers
3. Download & install this Chinese piece of software from http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
Further steps obsolete, because they're offering an english Root-Tool now.
But for the sake of completion, they will remain here:
In case you don't understand what you do:
- On Website press blue download-button with arrow pointing downwards
- During Installation uncheck every checkbox except the one that grays out the next-button upon unchecking
the download has been a bit slow for me (10kb/sec), if it fails or the take it offline: drop a comment, perhaps i can share the setup file somehow
4. On your device: turn on USB-debugging
On your PC:
5. Run Moborobo Software, then plug your device to USB-Port, wait until Moborobo has recognized it (in my case i had to click some dialogues...)
6. Run freshly installed software from Shuame.com (titled Ë¢»ú¾«Áé in my start menu)
7. When shuame-Logo appears on your device's screen, head on the windows-software towards the 4th icon in the top row; on the appearing screen click on the 4th icon in the 2nd icon-row (the android with some chinese signs + ROOT as title)
on your device:
8. download SuperUser (or superSU) from Market or install via other sources (if not already done)
9. replace asian root / su files (recognized as older versions) with newer ones by SuperUser or superSU
10. delete 2 chinese shuame-APKs from /system/apps directory or uninstall via Titanium Backup
11. => you're done.
if more than 10 People complain they can't find the right button's to click
then i'm willing to post a few screenshots...
else: have fun!

Hello,
Bit of feedback on your guide. Could benefit other Slate users
First I tried only using my adb drivers and skipped Moborobo, but I got a blank screen with what looks to be half of the right side of the notification bar is darker. So I rebooted and all was well.
I used Moborobo and it found my device and I used Shuame and it looked to be going well until I reached the point of encryption. So the software says press the right so I do and then it rebooted. There was no root and on screen it is asking me to press the blue button again as the green bar was only half so I did. This then put me on a boot loop. I booted into recovery and rebooted to system. It worked. So the screen was still spinning trying to do something and then out of no where it rebooted and same again with the darker area. So I unplugged and rebooted and it worked. I got root.
Now just for the tricky part of removing these Chinese files lol.
Good guide mate. Thank you very much.

Could someone detail how to do this correctly please? I will still be searching and trying.

Looks like my reply didn't go thru. There isn't a Canadian version of the firmware out there.... its alright I was having other issues with the tablet so it had to be replaced. (home button was getting stuck)... did a quick exchange...
Happy to hear letting the battery drained worked though... just wondering were you able to find a working root image? I wish there was just a patch.. I really need to modify the resolv.conf on this stupid tablet

Well it looks like someone has a fix I've been dying to modify the resolv.conf and a few other files so that this tablet can access my intranet at home. (Have my own domain and several Linux servers) Anyways... I'd like to remain with the same kernel if possible and apply this hack/fix. I found the file but no instructions on how to install it. Just wondering if there is a how to? Sorry new to the Android world...
The kernel modules included in the restored image didn't support my wifi hardware, hence the reason why I was missing the 5Ghz band. I'd just like it rooted for now... I can always recompile later
Thanks in advance!
p.s. shame I can't reply to the main thread..

I did find these instructions online. I'm assuming recovery mode is power and the volume up button.. Does this method work on our tablets?
<snip>
1. copy to root of sdcard
2. reboot into recovery
3. scroll to your second option--"wipe data:factory reset" and press the back key (no data will be wiped but the update will be installed and you will be rooted)
4. reboot device and install superuser or equivalent
</snip>
Just wondering was it this root.zip that was used for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1? I figured I'd ask first

Found the issue... I had an old 2GB microSD card kicking around. Formatted it and dropped the root.zip on it. That worked...
Could be a filesystem size limitation or mass storage support built into the recovery kernel..
Got around it at least

Then reboot your phone in bootloader mode and type: fastboot erase cache , press enter, type fastboot reboot bootloader or fastboot reboot-bootloader and try to access in recovery.
P.s. tomorrow i will publish beta3 with HBOOT Upgrader and much much more!

Thanks for reply! I've just tried what you suggested but in recovery I still can't pass the twrp ''hox teamwin big'' screen. If I put the old layout back everything is fine again but can't flash any newer rom.
I must tell you though, that I've tried to install it before using different ways but I had the same result There's no way to pass the twrp new layout's start scxreen. So I guess there's something wrong on my side... (I had cwmr before, it may be that?). If you have any other suggestion i'll be happy to try, If not I'll try to dig more.
Once again, thank you for your work and support.

Hmmm... Probably the zip is damaged. The TWRP is flashed successfully or there are errors? No, the cwm doesn't make any problem. I will try to view if there is a problem on the code. Thanks for your test

I don't know for sure, but I rather think your zip file is ok. The flashing was ok, no errors. It's probably my phone. Of course, a double check on the code doesn't hurt, it just might be loosing time for nothing. Of course, if you will come back with something new tomorrow I will try my luck again

Hmmm... I've read all the steps... But i don't know kali nethunter. I know only Kali for pc. If you explain me because you want it i will add them in a separate batch that will be called by the main program. The main step is to build the cm... the 2nd is more difficult... The 3rd too... Please explain me. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how to explain it to you because I am not a programmer. I tried to follow that guide but got scared because it looked a bit complex.

Okay, so... The process for me is a bit complicated because now i'm a win user, and not a linux user due to my bad pc (only 1gig of ram, single core 1.66GHz), but i can create an .sh script that can do this process automatically. Maybe if this work i will create some .sh script to build some custom rom . I need only to write the code that is in the guide (maybe with 2-3 sec of delay too and some echo) and optimizing them with some request. Anyway, stay tuned!
