Recently i installed Arconium ICS on my arc s - .431 with xArc kernel....
scrolling is laggy it really isnt fast or smooth? is it the kernel or 4.0.4 ICS? if it is the kernel should i use stock or is their a way to make it more smoother and faster?
I've never had issues with stock, however others do complain of similar issues. You can try the mod that enables software rendering which apparently increase the smoothness.

do u have a link for stock .431?
had the same problems with arconium after upgrading from gingerberad , you can't really do much about, the stock sony ics is simply far from smooth on our arc , that's why i switched to AOSP based roms
yeh iv heard about these problems, but it was to move to ICS based ROMS
for me arconium ics v4 was laggy rom & battery eater rom>
Is their a way to make it fast or smooth?

Stock is too good. But with root only.
Custom ROMs are already modyfied and that's save you to modify stock rom.
So they all good...but biggest differents is "do you want make all work yourself, or you take someone already done this hard work"

IMHO both is good
stock rom have better battery life, xloud, and SE UI is cool !
custom rom(cm7) is good(better camera, themes support) but battery life not good as se stock rom.
i still prefer stock rom

Stock --> Stable, all functions working properly.
Custom--> Though stable, not all functions and hardware of your phone will work until implemented.

well for me stock is good with better camera than cm7 rather than what tyrand3 stated...have xloud and bravia engine..but will lag if more and more of usage and app download...im using cm7 right now, and all the lag is gone with the overclocked and system optimization. but no radio....
the theming is great and i customize it to be as perfect as i can..my friend have arc to, and they using stock rather than me but my arc is stand out than most of them....still have batery drain issue though but stock isnt much better either...
its all up to you..you can try to root and use the different rom that has been built, if you dont like it you can change back to stock rom...the guide is all in here if your interested....

I've gone for the best of both at the moment...
Stock ROM: stable, no faults, looks quite pretty!
DoomKernel: rooted, overclocking, extra features
Until CM7 develops some more and has all the features of the stock ROM as a MINIMUM, I won't be changing from what I've got now .
CM 7 is far good than stock rom in speed, there is no lag like stock rom
but no radio
Previously Gameloft games was not running smoothly, now problem solved
More internal memory and all apps are now downloaded at sd so no more out of memory notification..themes are great, right now i'm using ICS theme, it's cool..
Missing one feature Facebook calendar sync....

I also really like se stock rom (for a change)
And as already said stock rom is good only with root.
My opinion stock with root and new kernel is all that is needed

This I agree. And I use "ADWLauncer EX" to enhance the user interface, I prefer it than the stock launcher.

I am using miui rom with doomkernel and it's really beautiful, but I am flash junky, and it's just matter of time when this is going to be changed
SE Tweaked v0.7 is super smooth with all stock features. Teamed with Doomkernel it is blindingly fast or with Blendkernel for smoothness and good battery. I have tried CM7 and SE Tweaked is better if only because you still get the Bravia engine.

No probs. I was one of the first to try SE Tweaked V0.1 and saw the improvement there over stock. I had a go with the first three weeklies from the FXP team and thought that they are doing a great job but the one thing I couldn't get over was how dull the display looked. That is why I am back with your ROM and V0.7 is really really good. I have OC'd to 1.6gHz and I must say the Arc is completely lag free and very fast with a super bright display.
i need ICS rom all games works on it like official GBread and it has the performance and updates in ICS UI closing apps and web browser
i updated to official ICS but it was too bad
asphalt 6 works but graphics is bad
stupid zomby the game run but it can't recognize that you touch the screen
any suggest please
thanks alot
Downgrade to Gingerbread. It's the only solution to all these game problems.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA App
i downgrade it already but this mean i will never update it or i should choose between the update and games and all new roms are ICS based
All ICS based ROMs have this problem. Stick to GB ones for gaming.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA App
Yeah agree stick to GB roms since it's much more stable and snappy than ICS roms.
Try this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1539752
IMHO
it's good for gaming.
The games mentioned there works on Arconium ICS too.. The touchscreen bug is applicable to all ICS ROMS! So the only solution is downgrading to GB.
Yes, that's the final solution i think.
Yes, back to GB, is the best solution.
Hi everyone,
My friend have a Xperia Arc running ICS...
He want to install a custom rom on his phone as the stock rom is laggy, slow due to low ram..
He asked me to do it for him as he don't know much about rooting, custom roms, etc
I don't know much about the Xperia Arc custom roms n kernels as I don't own it...
So plz suggest some good roms n kernels...
Priorities..
- Smooth, fast n lite..
- Reasonable battery life
- Good amount of free RAM
Use ice cream pureness rom with advanced stock kernel or arc night kernel ..
Sent from my Xperia Arc S using Tapatalk 2
I'm using Cyanogenmod 9 its quite impressive but doesn't have hdmi support.
Arconium 4.0 & XArc kernel. Best performance and battery life
Arconium is very good ROM, i always have 100+ MB free ram and its not laggy. Im using Arc Knight kernel, but its not very good for battery life i will change it soon...
Jelly Sandwich + XArc kernel = as fast as Arconium.

Great recommendation !
ArcKnight 3.5 kernel goes along with IC.Xperiance well. Its fast and great for beginners ! links below
ArcKnight kernel

IC.Xperiance

..
Best ROM
If you don't care about graphical user interface ,defintely JJ hybrid rom is great (fast - compatible with games - has ROM control as well) ,few bugs though like wifi hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1537717
If you care about having nice user interface with reasonable game performance with lots of free ram available you can try Jelly sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1836993 or the Remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1884958
For the Kernel i always advice to use stock kernel in order to avoid battery drain issues.
Regards,
As i wanna switch back GB, fed up with all these laggy ICS rom... suggest me best non laggy GB rom with NXT UI...!?
For me It's arconium 8.2. Stable and smooth
BTW: jjhybrid is very fast and absolute stable. But that's ics...

i like xperia s room 9.3 by zohaib
anyone knows how to use home.apk and xperia s widgets from that rom into stock one?
Which is better, CM9 or CM10?
With all the hard work of the FXP team, it's extremely difficult to choose between CyanogenMod 9 and CyanogenMod 10
I was wondering, if through the power of the XDA forums, people would be so kind as to help me out a bit, maybe offer an opinion, or tell me the benefits of each.
Obviously I've read through both threads and found problems and errors, but due to the constant updates, I never know if these errors still exist or not
Hopefully someone can help me decide between CM9 and CM10 or advise me to stick to my Sony stock based rom at the moment
Thanks!
- Jack
There are total three versions released by FXP.
1. CM7 - Ginger bread
2, CM9 - Ice Cream Sandwich
3. CM10 - Jellybean
Right now CM9 is in beta and CM10 is in alpha. Where CM7 is in stable mode means everything is working and most of the problems got solved.
Regarding CM9, its laggy compare to CM10 - my personal experience. But CM9 it is in beta, where it fits for daily use.
Regarding CM10, this ROM is in alpha, with fixes (posted in CM10 thread) it is also suit for daily use.
What I want to say is stay with GB, flash CM10 once the rom moved to beta version or flash CM7 for fast and smooth ROM. :highfive:

One thing I like about ICS is the action bar though
Are there any app incompatibilities like apps that only work with ICS+ or do they all work with GB?

Why would you say that is?
CM9 cuz its more stable than CM10.
I use CM 9.1 because it supports flash... CM10 is a lot more fluid than CM9, but lack of flash support is a huge deal for me.
I chose to try out CM10 and I don't think I'm going back
If you install cm10, there is a simple way to get flash working just as it does on Ics, tested it myself with flash and dolphin browser if you're interested I can link you to the apk

sorry but...Neither One Nor the Other .in My opinion!
What I like most about JB/CM10 is the options in the notification bar, like quick reply, call (for texts), and call back or message (for calls) not to mention the incredible battery life i get when my phone is in standby (i think it averages 0.5%/h, which is much lower than all the other roms I tried, for GB and ICS). But I'm using an xperia pro (since we share a forum) so it might not be the same... but one thing i don't like about CM10 is the camera (have they fixed that in fxp138?) and the random crashes every now and then. But it's not that bad.
If you want tasted ICS and GB look, just try flash Jelly Sandwich by Maxxio 1998. Just stable... Use until CM10 get the beta version...

Jelly Sandwich and Xperia ICS & JB Remix is builded on stock ICS. Currently Im using Xperia ICS & JB Remix and it's great! A lot of free ram, zero lags and no bloatware apps like : Timescape and FB.
