I have just got my hands on an old HTC Desire.. And now I will play with ICS rom's
But....
Is there one ICS rom that is more stable than other=?
Is there a MULTILANGAUGE ICS rom ?
What ROM can you advise me to use ??
Hey !
I am currently using BCM R4.0, really impressive and smooth !!
From my former tests, the ROM from Sandvold was good also, both him and DK-Zero-Cool are doing great work.
I can confirm what Enendil says - the BCM ROM has almost everything you may need.
All language packs and keyboard layouts from CyanogenMod 9 are available.
Also you can use COS ICS, its stable fast and have the language packs you want, also I never get one bsod with this rom.
Thanks.. I'll try one of them...
But if i like SENSE to be in a rom... Then what rom to use ??

There's only 1. And that's shaky153's Sense 4.0 Rom. But its in Alpha and loads of stuff don't work yet. Shaky himself said he will work on Kernel 3.0 (Project Y) before continuing development of Sense 4. So if you want Sense and a usable device, best stay on AOSP and switch when the features you need are working on the Rom.

Okay.. Thanks...
I recommend using the BCM CM9 ICS 4.0 rom
For me its perfect. Its the most stable one and the smoothest one too. USB tether is fixed on this rom and the camera works so does the recorder too but the video playback is crap and to fix this u just use MX Player that has decoding options. Everything else works perfect. All the games are much faster here and almost all the games work just like they work on gb. They are just much faster. For example Hot Pursuit works perfect on this rom and just try the game on a gb rom and see that its slow and cuz of that boring.

ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.0U0 GSM/CDMA (Bravo CM9 HWA) by DK_ZeroCool is the best for me. I'm from Ukraine and I haven't any problems with my language in this ROM
it's true, if you want sense on your phone, you better stick with android 2.x.
but you should give ICS a try, because i was just like you and wanted to keep my stock sense UI, but i'm super glad to have changed to 4.0.4.
i use sandvolds ICS, and it's very stable. only thing that's missing is video recording. but i'm okay with that.
well, just try for yourself and you will find out what's best for you
Recently i installed Arconium ICS on my arc s - .431 with xArc kernel....
scrolling is laggy it really isnt fast or smooth? is it the kernel or 4.0.4 ICS? if it is the kernel should i use stock or is their a way to make it more smoother and faster?
I've never had issues with stock, however others do complain of similar issues. You can try the mod that enables software rendering which apparently increase the smoothness.
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
do u have a link for stock .431?
had the same problems with arconium after upgrading from gingerberad , you can't really do much about, the stock sony ics is simply far from smooth on our arc , that's why i switched to AOSP based roms
yeh iv heard about these problems, but it was to move to ICS based ROMS
for me arconium ics v4 was laggy rom & battery eater rom>
Is their a way to make it fast or smooth?

I can't seem to find a Rom that im just 100% happy with. I've tried various GB and ICS roms but still am not happy. I like to play the Asphalt racing series and every rom I've tried on still lags. My Xperia Play 4G I've had unbranded bootloader unlocked and have tried cyanogenmod 7 and 9, I've tried the official ICS, nxt, true ancestor, and various other roms. I don't understand swap file or swap partition usage. Im also a user of supercharger v6 script which im not sure if it actually works. Please advise me.

Gin2JB or Xperia NXT (i think that's the name). Try overclocking as well. If you don't like V6, you could unsupercharge and try RAM manager from google play store.

Im diggin the stock 2.3.3 rom. What can you hate about it? Everything works. Sony made sure to get most of our PLAYS functionality were forced to stick with stock to have everything working. =/
The best rom is jin2jellybean with doomkernel governator smartassV2 I/O sio 364mhz - 1305mhz
Inviato dal mio Xperia Play
NXT2JB
Doomkernel 1.4
I believe chery2k is right. Thank you all for your answers.

I've been using the official ICS Rom forever now but I've been missing game play when I get bored. So I'm heading back stock out of the box firmware with some tweaks and bloat removal of course.

Well i'm back in stock ville. Lol! But hell now my games are working flawlessly. Removed all Sony crap I didn't use, added supercharger script. Did some other miscellaneous tweaking and now my at&t Xperia Play 4G is back rocking.

what ICS Official do you use ? is this what you mean ?
i plan to flash this ROM to my Xperia Play , and i plan to unlock the bootloader of my device
what you mean missing the game play ? is the game play getting more laggy on that ROM ?
Yes thats the ics Rom im talking about. I call it official because Sony has been helping that developer finish it. But asphalt 6 and 7 lag on it but very playabe. GTA 3 is unplayable.(same with all ics roms) nova 3 lags. Gingerbread is just what our xperia plays are meant to run. PsXperia games converted for GB are also unsupported. Meaning only ps1 games can play on ics are the small list of officials from the store. so if you want a gaming phone stay with a GB stock or custom rom. Im using 2.3.3 stock with lupus kernel o.c. to 1500ghz and supercharged

hmmm so some games is still uncompatible with the ROM :crying: even the converted ps pocket games with PSXperia :crying:
but isn't ICS has improved memory management for running apps ? then why the game is more laggy & incompatible
based on your testimonial i guess i cancel my plan to unlock bootloader and flash this ICS ROM + custom kernel , for now
until markphyton can make the very stable release ( let's just hope so ) hehehe
i currently using Xperia NXT 1.3 KrisDee with stock kernel ( locked bootloader ), i found this stable custom ROM for GB and great gaming performance
but i have found a few small problem like , missing DLNA feature , cannot like track in music player ( like on facebook ) , cannot sync with senseMe & cannot charge the battery in OFF posistion
Ive had a bad experience gaming on ics. I dont necessarily say ics is unstable. It has came leaps and bounds from where it was on xperia Play its just I think these devices lack the extra hardware requirements. I.e. Cpu,gpu, ram. Gingerbread unfortunately being outdated is still the most stable for gaming. You can still achieve dlna by using es file explorer and setting up ftp with your router, pc. I access all my home files everywhere on my phone.

Unlocking your bootloader is still not a bad $20 investment. The test point method is simple, effective, and fast. You also might be able to find flashable addons for those other options you mentioned. Just saying. Im still happy im unbranded and can flash roms and kernels at my desire.

Same configuration as yours, but i 'm still planning to unlock bootloader. Not for install ICS roms (i want keep this NXT Rom 1.3, is the best rom IMHO) , but because i want overclock a litlle bit, let 's say 1.4-1.6. because i see in latest games litttle lags are annoying, like Need for Speed most wanted, MC3, ...

You wont be disappointed after unlocking your bootloader. I recommend the lupus GBv5 kernel and dont forget to flash the lupus wifi modules afterwards.

If your using pads: Xperia NXT... No doubt about it... Smooth, fast, compatible, Android 2.3.7 xD...
I dont play games that uses the pads, just the DPad, so i'm using SlimBean 3 (By CJ360), and waiting for the fix for Wifi/DeepSleep... Otherwise, is a excellent ROM. smooth and fast as hell, maybe more than GB...

so Xperia Play HW is not good enough for ICS , hmmm so maybe the other 2011 Xperia product is laggy even on official ICS
yeah i want to unlocking the bootloader , is it worth for flashing other custom kernel ? is the differences is significant ?
and one problem is , i dont want to lose the DRM on my devices , so i prefer the testpoint method , but i find it hard to remove the sticker on the back of the phone it's very sticky , lol

many user that have downloaded it & play that game on Xperia Play have the same lag experience
is it possible b'coz the low class speed SD Card ?
btw , did you have the same problem like me on this ROM ? is it the bug or there's something wrong with the custom ROM that i have installed ? like a false step maybe ? lol

Its totally worth being able to flash custom kernel. Id say the changes are significant. And removing the sticker is the hardest part of the test point method. You wont lose drm either.

Hey guys. Well. I ending the story with ISC and JellyBean because all roms doesnt support ALL games with touchpad working,so for now i want to have gingerbread with styled UI (like holo?,or something clean),ofc GB performance and some auto tweaks for better quality, bass etc
Is there something new worth testing?
I dont understand, why people leave GB and whole new roms based at ISC or JB :/ I know there is more capabilities but this is killing the great think what is touchpad's for some games

Actually i did it,but this is kind of old - i think the newest roms will be better and more stable. I can be wrong, but i dont like to have old software on my phone
For now i am using Xplaystation GB v2 and.. Looks good, smooth UI,good performance,no bugs for now. But one thing makes me mad - the lock screen. Is there any addon to change lockscreen for looks like JB/ICS?

test them and find one which suits you
My opinion stock, rooted, and debloated with tweaks

Same here, no mater what I will always go back to stock GB with tweaks, its the fastest by far all Roms, most battery efficient and honestly it feels more like YOURS as u know what u did to it, and not someone else's tweak/mods to it,
