Hi everyone,
My friend have a Xperia Arc running ICS...
He want to install a custom rom on his phone as the stock rom is laggy, slow due to low ram..
He asked me to do it for him as he don't know much about rooting, custom roms, etc
I don't know much about the Xperia Arc custom roms n kernels as I don't own it...
So plz suggest some good roms n kernels...
Priorities..
- Smooth, fast n lite..
- Reasonable battery life
- Good amount of free RAM
Use ice cream pureness rom with advanced stock kernel or arc night kernel ..

I'm using Cyanogenmod 9 its quite impressive but doesn't have hdmi support.
Arconium 4.0 & XArc kernel. Best performance and battery life
Arconium is very good ROM, i always have 100+ MB free ram and its not laggy. Im using Arc Knight kernel, but its not very good for battery life i will change it soon...
Jelly Sandwich + XArc kernel = as fast as Arconium.

IC.Xperiance

..
Best ROM
If you don't care about graphical user interface ,defintely JJ hybrid rom is great (fast - compatible with games - has ROM control as well) ,few bugs though like wifi hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1537717
If you care about having nice user interface with reasonable game performance with lots of free ram available you can try Jelly sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1836993 or the Remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1884958
For the Kernel i always advice to use stock kernel in order to avoid battery drain issues.

I don't know about gaming but Arconium 8.2 has good battery life
All cm - very battery drain on screen of 50-60mA , stock rom on screen of 1-6max mA

+1 for arcronium, a great rom. I found it be fine on battery usage.
However I tend to use processor profiles to underclock when I'm at work or asleep. I also liked the similarities in appearance to the stock rom as I had only just started playing with custom roms at the time. As far as gaming goes I tend to stick to PlayStation emulators and had no problems with arconium

Arconium rom is for miui n ics
If there is a gb also plz provide me link

Is there no custom rom gb baseband ?
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Search for arconium 8.2
Sent from my LT15i.
When I used arconium 8.2 I ran doomkernel v22 and baseband 64. But you have other options for both kernel and baseband. All comes down personal preference.

Stock gb .58 rom gives a hell of a battery life with baseband 72
Recently i installed Arconium ICS on my arc s - .431 with xArc kernel....
scrolling is laggy it really isnt fast or smooth? is it the kernel or 4.0.4 ICS? if it is the kernel should i use stock or is their a way to make it more smoother and faster?
I've never had issues with stock, however others do complain of similar issues. You can try the mod that enables software rendering which apparently increase the smoothness.

do u have a link for stock .431?
had the same problems with arconium after upgrading from gingerberad , you can't really do much about, the stock sony ics is simply far from smooth on our arc , that's why i switched to AOSP based roms
yeh iv heard about these problems, but it was to move to ICS based ROMS
for me arconium ics v4 was laggy rom & battery eater rom>
Is their a way to make it fast or smooth?

i thick the best rom now is ICS & JB remix .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884958
Arconium Gingerbread, because it is based on Gingerbread, that's all, no gimmick "SUPER FAST SUPER STABLE FASTER THAN LIGHT".
Go gingerbread until an official JB update from sony or fixed ICS BY SONY.
(+DoomKernel V22)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780316
May only be an alpha but it's so fast, it's jelly bean and all the bugs are instantly fixed by besttt. The legend. New updates every Monday from fxp. Besides, cm is pretty much pure android. Its beautiful.
Hit the like button if I helped you

You can use some ROMs with jelly bean tweaks, status bar, libs...etc.
Below are some of them:
If you don't care about graphical user interface ,defintely JJ hybrid rom is great (fast - compatible with games - has ROM control as well) ,few bugs though like wifi hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1537717

Also Xperia Purness worth a try as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1788701

For jb try paranoid and cm10
try all and you will get the answer
but i vote for CM10 or Jelly remix
forget about ICS and JB. Try GB X-gamer + doomkernel v22

Which version is what?
I would switch to gb because of
(Positive)
1. Great Camera
2. Speed is awesome
3. Much free Ram about 220 mb ram free on Atomic gb v7.0
4. Games run withou lags no lag nothing just smooth and fast
5. Really Stable
(Negative)
6. Visual appearence is not so good as Jb , jb is much cooler with animations
In gb font is a way too big for me :/
In gb you cant enjoy goodies from Xperia Z xd
But overall GB is a way better than JB

I use to agree with you until I tried Super Jelly Bean 4.0
So smooth and stable, no need to OC and Overnight only uses 1-2% battery
yes, CM10 based JB roms are very fast, I am usig super J, too. It has more than 200MB free ram and very smooth. I am using onscreen nav. buttons and they don't exist in GB. Unfortunately, CM10 based roms don't support HDMI, very bad drawback...

Sounds good.
Currently I am using ICS rom.
Will follow your suggestion to flash SJB 4.0.
There's no kindle fire super jb ROM.
im running Slimbean JB 4.1 with fusion kernel 5.4 and its very smooth and quick, very stable and de battery life its good.
former that i tryed Aroma ICS and i think that JB its better :good:
the title says it all , i'm moving from ultimate HD 3.1 to jellybean, do you think it worth it ? if so, i want to know which one of those 2 jellybeans better in matters of performance and least lagging rom
its not worth it
UHD is the highest performer
lol that escalated quickly , thanks
Has it not been said already that this kind of threads are forbidden?
And actually zelly cream is ics only... Just states as jb...

Its all about you
One thing, when you go to JB, use recommended kernel from ROM thread
About performance you can upgrading with V6supercharge

Xperia Z Jelly Bean is gud ..!!
Haven't used the UHD yet but this is a real gud rom . Even the battery is life is very gud .with the Lupus kernel. But make sure you have a swap of atleast 500MB+ because with out it you might get reboots while using FB or playing games for long periods. Once you the swap in place zero reboots ..!!

Just try it out yourself, no one here can help you choose the ROM since the performance differs with each user because of the different apps they install and the different settings they use.

Chgz01, i believe what you meant was to increase the internal storage from the initial 420MB to 500MB or more by using the swap script by cronmob/xstreamsiliencer. However I do face reboots quite often if the RAM falls below 50MB while running FB or browser.
