latest swype download? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I updated the ota update. The swype download i used before appears to not be recognized by my phone anymore. Anyone with the latest download hook me up with a link plz? I'm not rooted completely stock. I didn't want to update but,did anyways.

Just go to the Swype website and register. They'll email you a link to download the latest beta for Swype. I just installed it a few minutes ago actually. I'm liking it so far. The buttons are a little bigger and easier to use.

[SOLVED] Fresh Evo 3.1.0.2 Sprint TV problem

SteelH solved the proplem. Thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7878966&postcount=5
I installed Freshevo and Netarchy. Everything works great, however I miss the Sprint TV application.
So I tried to install the version from the SD card (fresh-removed-apks-3)
Installation worked, but when I start the app, I get a notification that a newer version would be available. There are two buttons available "exit" and "update", but only the exit button works. Which means I can not update. Unfortunately I can not skip the dialog either, so no Sprint TV for me :-(
Any idea how to fix this, or where to get the latest version?
PS
I don't know why it was removed, I don't really consider it bloatware Please re-add.
+1 on evio rom as well. I nandroided back to 2.1 stock rooted rom and the update went through. Anyone know where the updates are stored so i can pull it from there and post it.

I think if you just upload the whole apk that works well

To quote Flipz as to why Sprint updates for Sprint programs don't work:
" Due to fresh rom being signed you will get a signature error while trying to install it. Me resigning the whole rom allows me to do customizations and modifications that other roms can’t do, yet the side effects of people not being able to install all of these updates is getting to be a bit much. I might go back to an un-resigned rom until after things slow down with the evo." From his web site.
There is a flashable sprint tv update zipfile in my ROMs OP. It should work just fine with the EviO ROM.
This could be the reason, however we don't get a signature error. it looks like the update button is not working?

Thanks!

Good point. I haven't (if you tell me how I will).
However there is one reason that makes it reasonable to me there was no signature error. The update notification shows two buttons. The users can choose to update or to exit. It doesn't update immediately. However the update button doesn't ("not active"), so it doesn't look like the update was downloaded at all. Does this make sense?

Market apps not installing

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and/or has a fix. When I try and download an app from the market it just hands at waiting to install. The only way I've found to get around this is to hit download, and if it hangs reboot the device. When it comes back up it will start the download. Amy ideas?
Sent from my A100 using Tapatalk
The new Market app available with the 3.2.1 upgrade seems to download much quicker and more reliably.
With the old Market version, I found I had to leave the download page, browse around the app store awhile, then come back to the download page and hit ''Download'' again - then the download would start.
Same issue for me. I'm waiting on the 3.2.1 OTA update.

OK thanks. At least its not an isolated incident. Is the 3.2.1 update coming soon? I saw a couple of threads about ota's, but wasnt sure if that is the 3.2.1 update or just an Acer build update.

@bjones:
Yes, the 3.2.1 ota update is available just about everywhere now. You should get a popup notification (unless you already did an ''unofficial'' update).
So far no notification. I've been checking for updated every day.

I don't think gen2 has an update yet. You have to downgrade before upgrading.

Links and keyboard light fix for ICS ATT upgrade

Here are the links to get ATT stock upgrade and broken light keyboard fix.
Warning: Your phone will be rooted after you apply everything. I take no responsibility!
First download ATT stock upgrade and install. (volume+ and power)
Link to ATT ICS stock: https://rapidshare.com/files/780317852/I927UCLH2_I927ATTLH2_ATT.zip
Link to Odin: http://phile.mobi/fw/Odin3.zip
Second: Using odin flash CWM6
Link: http://phile.mobi/fw/CWM 6.zip
Third: Reboot into CWM6 (Volume- and power) install from sdcard (superuser)
Link to superuser: http://phile.mobi/fw/Superuser-3.2-RC2-arm-signed.zip
Forth: Repeat third step above but install keyboard fix.
Link to keyboard fix: http://phile.mobi/fw/CWM_keyboard_backlight_fix.zip
If I missed something feel free to add info. If this is wrong forum feel free to move.
These are the steps that worked for me.
Non of these fixes are mine, please thank the users that created them.
Thanks a lot or posting this.
One thing I found out is that the two zip files cannot be found using the CWM6 program even though they are on the SD card for sure
The other thing that I found was the link to the Stock ATT upgrade using rapidshare starts extremely slow and then usually quits stating that the file no longer exists or something similar.
If one cannot use an SD card for whatever reason, is there another way to become a superuser and the keyboard fix. I assume that I should just download another rooted OS from somewhere.
Thanks again.
Yeah I noticed that too. Just put the zips on internal sd. As far as rapidshare is concerned I can either upload it to my server or upload to mediafire.

Which one of those updates "ROOT's" the ATT ICS image?
Did you ever post the rom zip to somewhere faster than rapidshare? 3 hours for a 416mb file is on the longer side of waiting, but I will because I don't wanna go looking for it elsewhere. lol

Hey justqt thanks for this. Just got my wife a Glide and wanted to upgrade w/o rooting as she needs to run some cc apps that wont run on rooted phones.
Is it possible to install the keyboard fix w/o installing su?
Have CWMR flashed on the phone and flash the fix. No root should be needed.

First is it possible to update through recovery using a previous update if your already past that one?
I have the keyboard glitch due to a bad ota update, i need the version whos keyboard auto corrects still. If someone could please upload that, i would love to flash it and then reflash JB so i have a working keyboard again. After the LI3 update that i got ota, my keyboard broke =/ no auto correct or anything after trying everything. Someone please give me a link to the OTA LI3 update. or tell me if its even possible to update to a previous one..

Also what exactly will happen if i do update the same update i already have? Just reinstall it?
Yes, it will just reinstall the ROM but it will also reinstall all System Apps which in turn will reinstall the keyboard making this process useless.
But you see, its somwthing within the system causing the auto correct to malfunction. Only a batch of people received the bad li3 update, which means if we find someone who uploaded the good one, then we could flash that to the correct deeper system settings that factory reset and jb aparently didnt touch. Or if anything find a lg8 upload and then flash that and then to li3 and if thats works then just jb after. But I dont think anyone has any links for the lg8 ota or li3 =(

hopefully the official updates from google i posted help..
Yes but u would have to install root which would mean that all u would need to do is take the keyboard apk from a good OTA and overwrite keyboard in sysyem/app on current rom. Wouldn't need to reinstall ROM and would be useless anyways because like I said, it would overwrite all system apps anyways.

So unfortunately guys, i try installing the old updates but each says aborting due to issue in some zip file.. any input? And like I was trying to say, its not samsung keyboard. Its something effecting all auto corrections. If it was just Samsung keyboard then swypes auto correct would work while tapping

Am I crazy for trying this?
Last night I tried to install a note 2 keyboard on my friends Sprint S3. (Same one I put on my AT&T S3 worked fine on my phone) Well it did not work and now im stuck at Android apps updating. Well I made a back up of the rom and went ahead and installed AXIS M. My question is if I reinstall the stock rom make a back up and replace the system.ext4.win from the good back up of the stock rom to the corrupt backup of the stock rom what are the chances I can reinstall the corrupt backup with the new sys file copied in place do you think it will work? Good grief, hopefully this makes sense...Thanks in Advance...

I just installed using the apk.. and set to default in settings.
I tried it with stock 4.1.2 and it threw an error up, 'file with same name already exists'...
Still playing with that one.
edit: works with stock 4.1.2 (flash the zip)..It took a couple of reboots
To show up. Could have been my fault though, I uninstalled all the keyboards
With titanium backup, then flashed the zip.

So far I'm digging it. I've always been a little on the fence with swipe style keyboards on tablets because I have a tendency to tilt the tablet in a weird way. I'm going to force myself to use this for a while to see how things go. Thanks for the link!
Edit- I will say this... as somebody who likes to switch between swipe and standard typing, having both on the same keyboard is pretty much awesome.
Edit again- not to be a Debbie downer but I hope the final version has better prediction... Swift key still takes the cake from what I'm seeing. Perhaps in time with using it, it'll learn...after all, this keyboard learns as you type, no?
Example if I type "hibhello" sometimes it thinks that's what I meant. Other times "hi hello" is listed off to the side in the predictions list and not primary like it should be.

Dumb question - Google claims the current 4.2 keyboard is not finalized yet. I'm on Android 4.1.2, rooted, and installed the .zip through recovery mode.
When my official OTA 4.2 update comes down, will it thereby automagically replace my pre-released 4.2 keyboard with the finalized 4.2 keyboard? I'd assume yes, but I'd rather ask than not know. :good:

A couple things.
First, if you intend to just flash the OTA update (either through the updater app or recovery) it will fail. This is because the update is a bunch of patches, and the first step it does is verify the checksum of many files - including all the ones it intends to patch. If it is looking for the 4.1.x keyboard apk and it's been replaced with the 4.1.2 keyboard, it will fail the checksum verification and abort. So, depending on how stock your system is, you may have to revert it back first OR just download and flash the full 4.1.2 image (easier).
The patch method will not work, but the full image install will - and yes it will 'upgrade' you to the full and released version.

I'm completely stock and rooted. I've changed nothing else aside from installing the AndroidKeyboard4-2.zip in the recovery mode. That's all I did. I just wanted to make sure that if I get the OTA update that whatever keyboard I'm using is the new "final" keyboard and not the "as of October 30th" keyboard.
Thanks for the info! :good:

NP. I'm fairly stock too, outside of being rooted, custom kernel and custom recovery. I'll probably install the beta keyboard tonight.
So if I attempt the OTA patch, it will fail as well, unless I restore *everything* to stock (outside of root). It's easier to just download the full image from Google, apply it via fastboot, and re-install recovery/root/kernel afterwards.
