Device replacement in India - HTC One V

Hey guys, since some of you live in India, I was just wondering what the device replacement process is, here in New Delhi.
It's been about a month since I got the phone, really getting pissed with light leakage from everywhere.
Will I be able to replace it?

ua too late
its jus 14days here in. india
now u cant replace
i got mine replaced thrice all with root
they don't even check just see whats the problem and give a DOA certificate
u havee to take that along with the phone from where you bought the cell and he will have it replaced

easy enough to brick.... let me know how you want it do die or you can volume up + power

For now, I just want it to die of old age
Edit:Thread can be closed.

Hey,
This means that if something goes wrong then I've to just make sure that the phone is HARD BRICKED!
Then will HTC replace an Unlocked BL phone with voided warranty?

[Q] Rooted G2 Sent to HTC

I broke my first G2 after 6 months of use. Its rooted and everything and while it looks almost new with no physical defects the problem is that the screen won't display any color - just all pitch black backlight. So I called t-mobile and they are sending me a brand new g2 while I send my broken one to HTC for repair. Anyone been in the same situation as me? It's not like they would reprimand my new phone if they see that I rooted the broken G2

i broke the screen on my Desire z a while back and had to send it to HTC while it was rooted cause i couldnt do a factory reset on it without the screen being on... they fixed it and sent it right back to me with no issues...
my understanding is that the very first thing they do is do a factory reset on the phone just in case the issue is software related...
so as long as u didnt go S-OFF i think you will be fine... make sure to let us know wt happens once u find out...
3 month bump: T-mobile didn't find out anything so I'm good, got a brand new rooted phone. S-off and everything; the screen just didn't work. I wonder what the person who fixed it was thinking....

Way to brick Desire?

Yes, I know the title might seem weird, however I've had my Desire to repair 2 times now, and if it breaks one more time, I can get my money back, and eventually buy a Samsung Galaxy S2, so I somehow need to brick the phone, without it being traceable by the shop... Is that possible?

LOL nah Well, I know I might be stupid bricking my Desire, however I've had so many problems with it now, and I just wants to try something new, I've had my Desire since release in Denmark, I've had the AMOLED version, and if it comes back with a S-LCD from the rep, I'm gonna be so pissed
Just sell it and get the money and put some money of your own and you can buy a sgs2..
I dont think the shop would just get you trade the desire for a SGS2... their not stupid and you probably have to pay sum to trade your desire for sgs2

HTC Desire Android 2.3 Upgrade
Hi, I dont know where to ask this! I put this upgrade to my htc desire form htc developer site, and now my sd card does not work at all! I tried few other micro sd cards and nothing! The software can not read the micro sd cards!
What should I do?
Isn't this technically fraud? Id be careful asking these kinds of questions on a forum like this

Not only technically. I hope HTC notices it and he doesn't get sh1t and is left with a dead desire and no money.
If you want a new phone, buy one and sell your old on ebay or to a friend or something.

Warranty UK

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.
from my experience with the one x and vodaphone staff they wouldnt have a clue one of them told me to to a system reboot and then i would need to connect it to a pc as she had wiped the rom i said oh thanx for the help and hung up not very savy when it comes to the one x defo not

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

Its with my bank now and ive not used them yet. It used to be with Vodafone and they used to just replace with a new handset if it was beyond repair.
I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
In the 1st 6 months the seller must prove you caused the fault before denying a remedy. After 6 months its vice-versa
Unless they can demonstrate unlocking caused any issues, you're covered by the Sales of Goods Act

Sent in my phone for repair on arhd 9.2.0

And I got it back.. had sent it on due to WiFi issue. I honestly can't tell much since I have moved to a new apartment. The WiFi issue (I think) is gone. I checked this by going to a room where the signal is bad and then pushing my fingers at the WiFi spot. Nothing changed, no connection improvement what so ever. If anything after pushing the area my connection has gotten slightly worse if that certain spot is pushed..opinion on this is welcome.
Just thought is mention that I had sent my phone in for repair with an unlocked bootloader and on arhd 9.2.0 and got it back without having to pay.
That's my story..

I have just arranged a repair of my handset due to WiFi hardware fault. Will be collected by UPS tomorrow. Stock ROM and Re Lock bootloader time!!
That was quite lucky shame some have completely got it back to stock and have had to pay. Its a shame its not very consistent.

Where you sent it? Directly at HTC service, or to your carrier?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I sent it at my carrier which is a a1 Austrian contract. As far as I have been informed it was sent to htc in Czech. @above, it took a bit less than two weeks in my case. Round 12 days. So two weeks
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
This is an information, all that we need. Because in that case you're right. Wi-Fi is a hardware problem and they should recognize the warranty. But unfortunately, not always and not everywhere be received correctly.
Exactly my point. I have a friend who threatened and actually wasn't lightly meaning that he would go as far as to suing them if they do not comply. They ended up replacing his nearly one year old phone with a New one. I think in this case it depends more on in which country you are in than anything else.
A.k.a the country is a major influence

actually feel the guys in my country India Bangalore not all that technically qualified they try the usual procedure just reflash the ROM and if we have not relocked, added the right boot.img and stock recovery they end up bricking it and then they just send it to HTC ho at India and get it replaced :good::laugh:
im 100% sure that the first thing they do here is just re flasher the original ROM
and i really dont think these ASPs in my county dont(at least the ones at bangalore ) know about locking the boot loader

Haha true! Im from Bangalore as well and experienced a similar thing with my friend's HOX!
He sent it back in for the slightly yellowish spot on the display after rooting and unlocking the bootloader. They called him back and said they will give him a new piece He received a brand new one.
Thanks to to their stupidity, I think we Indians can still claim warranty

stupid question but did you try another charger?
otherwise its a battery gone dead or a motherboard issue, and if its a motherboard issue you will get a free replacement if your guarrantee is still running if it is a battery issue and your phone is older then 6 months you won't get squat
