Well, this probably should have been posted in the correct section (but as you know they don't support other languages).
There is a workaround for you though... as I need to have Chinese and Japanese reading too.
You can either download direct from Slim website or the OTA app in Slim rom: AdditionalFonts.zip
(from website: http://www.slimroms.com/addonsmods.htm)
**and flash it via CWM

Arabic Epic Touch 4G

Its all official Now we have moved to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17866173#post17866173
correction
The Arabic fonts are built into the system , the issue is to get them connected, arabitization and then RTL support.
Yes! I finally got Arabic working on my Epic 4G Touch!
Here's how:
First, root your phone (you can keep your stock ROM if you want by following these instructions):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1273730
Then after that, use the Universal Arabic Patch (works with any ROM, whether it's ODEXED or DEODEXED!)
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.brightidea.android.arabic_browser_patch
That's right, it even comes in a convenient market app package!
Once you run the patch, reboot, and you'll be able to have connected Arabic script on your phone (note: in Gmail the titles of emails will still be unconnected when you look over them, but once you open the email it will all be connected.)
Also, you can uninstall the application once you're done.
Habibi!! Ur a life saver. j/k, I haven't rooted yet. I'm still scurred.
It worked
Thanks that did work ! Now to get facebook.and twitter apps to connect is the next challenge .
U guys can try madmack 's method of making any deodexed ROM arabic capable.
N of course u will need root to achieve this. Also, some people are saying that root and / or the kernels are finicky after root.
I know I have an Evo 4G but arabic on an android phone is so important to me too

This is the root method i used, it works like a charm and it is as stable as stock if not more stable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268037 So far the Arabic browser is working great
Seriously !
بعد التأكد من المتطلبات، افعل التالي (بسم الله) Are you kidding me , its like buying a watermelon hahaha
I am deoxed now
now i have to figure out how to remove the files from the device to put them in the input folder so i can make them arabic then send them back. I think i can do this on an existing rom much easier but there are no good roms out there right now that are stable enough .
I cracked it
I made a rom that supports arabic read in system and in apps like facebook and twitter, i ripped the source from another dude and i am waiting on his ok to release.
I am done
I have successfully created the first Arabic supported ROM based on AEMOD beta , i am ready to release it as soon as i get the OK from the aemod guy , hit me up [email protected]
Its ready

You need to delete Swype.apk from /system/app folder and move /system/build.prop.swype file to /system/build.prop
You can do it with ADB or Root Explorer.

I have made some little changes, now works fine with CM9, you only have to download v0.2 and flash it again.
Thanks! Just installed this on XXLP2 and where version 0.1 didn't work, version 0.2 works perfectly
works with miui 2.1.13 - but i cant set it as the default keyboard. it always switches to the standard keyboard after restart. do you have any idea to fix it? i think it was the v1 but im not sure.
thank you.
Why should anyone install a very old version off Swype when you can get the newest for free and on every ROM from swype.com????

This version is better for some languages other than English.
For example, the new version of Swype includes all letters from the Turkish alphabet (an additional 6 letters cramped on a small screen!), whereas this version simply uses the English QWERTY layout and predicts what I'm typing in Turkish. Therefore, this version is a lot more error-free and efficient when I'm typing in Turkish.

Hi
First of all, really nice job! Just like you and other guys around I do fancy the older version of swype.
I was wondering, though, if this stock swype was able to be ported only because of the original files extracted from VR3. Could it be possible to get, for instance, the swype version found in ICS XWLP2 to work with CM9 as well? Could you point out something like the procedure you followed for doing so? (or do it for us )
Thanks in advance
Good joob, its works on my d4rom cm9. Can you add please romanian language?
does this have pt-pt language?

True words.
There's no point in making a thread which contains no download links.
OP PM'ed.
And please use the report button. I'm checking the threads and I find profane language etc...it would be nice if you guys could use the report button more often, as I am moderating for 4 forums.. Not that easy to go trough all of the threads/posts.

[MOD] Arabic Stock Fonts

For those using Arabic on their non-stock phones, you might have noticed that in the stock Arabic ROMs (1.28.415.9 & 1.29.415.11), Arabic had two different fonts, ICS "Naskh" & Gingerbread "Kufi". The font was also displayed in both "Regular" &"Bold" styles. But in custom roms, this was not the case, the only Arabic font displayed was ICS "Naskh" and only in "Regular" style, (no Bold).
The solution I found was due to two things, 1st (which is obvious), the "Kufi" fonts were missing. But just copying them did not do anything. Apparently the file "system/etc/fallback_fonts.xml" was different, so copying the missing fonts & fallback_fonts.xml from the Arabic ROMs to a custom ROM & rebooting, made the fonts appear similarly to HTC's Arabic ROMs, both "Naskh" & "Kufi" and in "Regular" & "Bold". The attached CWM flashable Zip to add the missing Fonts & fallback_fonts.xml.
I believe this should work on any HTC ICS device, not only the One X.
thanks
is this meant to be for sense or aosp roms?
btw, i'm running ARHD 7.1.0 which is based on 2.05... will this work on it?
It is supposed to be for Sense. I tried it on Venom.
ok then.. i'll give it a shot.. coz i hate the arabic font in custom roms

You might try the standard version of Dandroid. It appears to contain DroidSansHebrew-Bold.ttf and DroidSansHebrew-Regular.ttf. If you need more, the OP contains instructions for using ROM Toolbox to add specific language support.
See my signature for the link.

I haven't tried this myself, but the Dandroid OP includes the following:
Languages
If you need to use a specific language with Dandroid and it's unsupported you can make it work by following these easy steps
1) Go to a rom that has your desired language supported.
2) Open the app "Rom Toolbox", download from the market
3) Go to Interface, then Font Installer
4) Press the menu key, then backup all of your fonts.
5) Setup this rom, then load Rom Toolbox.
6) Restore your previous rom's fonts.
7) You should now be able to read/write in you're language

I understand this to mean that, if you have access to a ROM with Hebrew support, you can extract the Hebrew fonts and "restore" them into Dandroid. But as I noted in my previous post, the standard download of Dandroid appears to contain two Hebrew fonts.
Good luck.

What are you trying to do? Even with LE4.12, I can see Hebrew characters on websites (using Chrome). If it's a keyboard issue, the only thing I can suggest is going into settings to see if you can select Hebrew. I also found a free Hebrew keyboard here. But it doesn't include fonts.
If you need more help than that, I'm afraid I've reached the limit of my knowledge.
If you still have a problem,
try S3Rx. It may already have Hebrew. If not, the developer seems willing to add languages on request.
S3Rx forms the base of the ROM I use. The Dandroid theme now is available as an option within the S3Rx Aroma installer.
Hey. I use Wicked ROM 10 (see our Android Development section) and I read and write in Hebrew and Arabic. Fonts are already included in the ROM for reading. For writing, simply download from the play store one of the many "soft" keyboards with multi languages OR use this cool app to add Hebrew support to the native Samsung keyboard:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wanam
Let me know if you have any issues.
