kindle fire internal sd replacement - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello all;
just want to know can i replace kindle's internal sd chip
with new one..
my kindle fire's internal sd card is corrupted by cwm hashcode version.
just want to know can it be replaced by new one if i get new chip from online stores..

Short answer, No. The tools to replace the chip cast more than a new Fire. IMHO

Anyone know where to get a mobo?

Bought another Kindle off eBay, but the USB is busted, figured I could fix it......and I was wrong. The mobo still works, but I'd rather just replace it with a known working USB.....anyone know where to get them?

I Googled them and only found 2 sources. One place wanted $100 for one, and they have been out of stock at the 2nd source for the last 2 months. I couldn't absolutely correctly identify a replacement for the USB connector either. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Nope...I think we found the same sites. I guess I'll have to buy another broken one to fix it

[Q] Information about Galaxy Nexus Memory Controller?

My Galaxy Nexus got run over by a car, and the screen was damaged pretty bad. I understand that it can't be repaired and that I'll be lucky to get anything off of it, but I'm hoping since the boards inside weren't damaged much that a data recovery company might be able to pull off my data. The reason for my question is that when I spoke to them they asked me and I didn't know the answer so I'd like to get a clear understanding from someone who knows.
Does the Galaxy Nexus have a flash memory controller or does it have an uncontrolled MTD chip? Judging from the fact that it's got a couple ext4 partitions (according to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469490 ) I would guess it's a controlled chip but I just want to make sure.
Also does the fact that it's under "/dev/block/mmcblk0" mean that it uses an MultiMedia Card controller?
Finally if it is a controlled device that means that if the controller is damaged the data is irretrievable right? Is the controller part of the Samsung multi-memory chip or is it separate on the board?
When I get back to them I want to give them as much information as I can so answers to any or all of these questions would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. If anyone knows of a good data recovery service in Canada that they could recommend I'd greatly appreciate it. I understand it won't be cheap but all of the ones I've seen are ridiculous (like $300 dollars to undelete files on a windows OS which you can do with free software in 10 minutes)

Motherboard change... howto?

I have a SDS n7100 and need to change the mobo.
Anybody done this?
Anything spesial to think about when doing this (apart from ESD)?
Wath programing is on a brand new sammy mobo?
IMEI/SN?
Nobody?
Is a new motherboard from Samsung ready for odin?
On youtube there are loads of videos with regards to dissambling the phone etc. Its not that hard to get the main pca assy. Out and replace it. If you have a full nand backup you can tey restore it.

Thanks, currently they're out of stock, I'm not in any rush, ordered a Nexus 4 to replace it. Looks like this is what I'm going to have to do. Never importing a phone again. I've learned my lesson. Effectively there's no warranty.
They have been out of stock since they sold the last mobo to me....
Better send them a email and ask...
looking for a replacement mobo
Where did you order it from? Did it work ? I had also a bad emmc chip. Ordered the emcc chip from China. But the emmc chip replacement failed due to glue + damaged routes. How much the motherboard cost you ?
coming from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661269 many people are facing emmc failures , mine failed 2 months after the warranty expired
Thank you

Hi
I ordered my mobo from rounded.com, I payed 250€. It turned out to be a used part but works grate to this day (the new mobo also have affected emmc, but no symptoms) In daily use, as my secondary phone.
Best Regards
250 is too much for a motherboard
That is expensive ! I can buy new Note 10.1 for that price. It's more than 2y old tablet...
agreed
Yes! This was 1,5 year ago, the phone was newer
But the price today is lower... 113€.... If you see at the www
If you by a used phone, with cracked display... that may be even a cheaper solution

[Q] Should I replace eMMC for GNex?

So I have a GNex which is semi alive... the last time I flash a custom ROM over it, it went into this weird mode where I couldn't update or revert the ROM/Kernel. I've found a website called www.parts4repair.com which has the eMMC and it's relatively cheap... less than USD$30. But I'll need to send the device in to a shop to replace it which may cost a bit more about another USD$30. Is it worth the fix?

For 60$, maybe you would be better off with replacing the entire motherboard if you can find one. It wouldn't be a new eMMC, but at least you would know you have genuine parts.
I can't Seem to find a replacement motherboard. But I get what you mean. That said, I can't get spare parts locally here in Malaysia for the GNex i9250. Where'd you suggest aside from ebay?
