[Q] Has anyone got HOX from LATEST BATCHES? - HTC One X

Hey HOX lovers/maniacs,
Just wanna know if anyone had got the hox from the latest batches, viz HT26/SH26.......
Been waiting since I heard about the issues...now I guess most of the S/W issues have been cleared with the updations...So resteless to get my hands on it.
I'm planning to get the HOX fom either Bangalore/Chennai, so kindly let me know if anyone had purchased the new ones from there.
A hardcore HOX lover!!!

As far as i know the HT25 batches came only two days back to chennai. Know that because i replaced my phone yesterday.
So it'll be sometime before you get the june batch because we are still in june!

I had enquired with some of the UniverCell showrooms in Chennai, last week regarding the batch they are having. One of them told me they are having SH25
So, I guess the June batch models are available atlest since last week.
Anyways, I'll be buying it in August....just too curious to know abt its arrival in the city.
Btw, hows your new HOX doing?? still any isssues...?

SH 25 is may batch. June batches will be 26.
The 25 batches have perfect build quality, No screen issues whatsoever.
Much better build when compared to 24 phones which i had.

mine returned from warranty with MB21

Where I can see that?

Have had 5 24 and one 25 and i must say the 25 lasted fewer days than the 24 builds. Wifi and GPS problem was the cause. Now i'm on 24 because the store hadn't any 25 builds. And it is still working fine after 4 days

The patches thing is a joke , i bought the phone since it was out and i have never had any problem with it

Hi I bought my HOX on May 18.
I got HT24 batch, and ofcourse it has Screen ripple/flex problem and Wi-Fi problem (both these are not so prominent, but there is a problem).
I waited till now to get the official notice from HTC about these issues. They are now more or less aware of these problems and started fixing them.
So, am planning to send my device for service this week. Do you have any idea, that the latest batches dont have these issues ??

The thing it does not affect everyone. Small % of the phones experience the wifi issue.
Some people have reported that the problem shows its head after 3-4 weeks while for some its been there out of the box..
HTC fixed this issue this month (ie) The 26 batches will be the first one's with the manufacturing fix.
Rest assured that the issue is present in a small % of users, People who wanna buy the phone should just buy it because the chances are that you might not even have the fault... If you do also you can get the phone replaced immediately..

Nice to hear that...
please let me know if any issues are there...

why will the new batches will also have a yellow tint? why cant HTC fix all the issues even in the latest batches. What are they, idiots? they love to get complaints i think. i am sick and tired of the issues. why we have to wait for issues to get solved (esp hardware) for such a phone that we are buying with so much money from our hard work.only if some other phone (s3) was this good looking i wouldnt have bothered to wait this long.

HOX - Bugs and Glitches in Hong Kong

Dear All,
I woke up this morning and found this news clip of the HOX in Hong Kong (it's in Cantonese). The translation as follows:
It is hailed as King of Smartphones for now but with bugs and glitches. It's gone mainstream and HTC is not looking good. So, the report states the bugs as one can see from the clip. It also states HTC will provide free replacement no matter what but at the end the report states HTC has not contacted the vendors for full replacement to the end user.

chum,
You have to ask HTC HK. Do you have the bugs as stated in the video?
I have a yellow spot and the camera glitch ups (not often, just had it happen once during this one week experience)
Do you just go to the HTC HK website and ask them whether they will honor my exchange?
E-mail HTC

Okay, I sent my phone off two days ago.
I am yet to receive anything from them but they did say that they will try to reformat the entire system and relock the bootloader if you had those changed.
Anyways, it's in HTC's hands right now, so I'll update you guys as soon as I get my phone back.
Good luck...

I got a response from HTC HK.
They called me and told me they could replace the screen for me for free.
But if they wanted a refurbished replacement, they will charge me $1800-1900HKD because I unlocked my bootloader. But no biggie....
As the camera issue is probably a software issue, and only happened to me once, I think it shouldn't be an issue, when I get my screen replaced, I'll update it to the latest HTC based ROM. This problem replicates itself with a probability of 1/50.
Good stuff...

Chum,
That is great they will replace the screen. Hope there won't be anymore yellow spots and flickering.
Seems like it is the problem of the screen and not the camera...
Even high quality games have this problem too.

Alright guys, I got a call from HTC Service Center just now.
They fixed my unlocked bootloader HTC One X's screen with a yellow spot for free.
They said they can't update the firmware for me because I unlocked the bootloader, but if I didn't, there should be a new firmware update which addresses the screen flicker/camera flicker issue.
All is good, yellow spot screen replaced and screen flicker solved.
If you have these problems, do what I did and you'll get it fixed

Anyone recently get a replacement device from Samsung/Google ?

Just got a advanced replacement setup from Samsung. New phone should arrive by Wednesday.
I want to know, has anyone recently gotten one, and is the quality better ? Mine has the whole purple hue/tint situation, and its getting worse by the day. Have had the phone 2 weeks exact today.
Thanks !

Got my second vodafone hardware swap after crashing my phone to the ground 2 weeks ago, no problems like purple hue/tint or what so ever, but hadn´t with one of my first two models either. should be perfektly fine, even though they deliver on stock 4.0.1 which means you have to pull a few updates for android before you can fully enjoy this masterpice of a phone

Dear all ....
i have always been a HTC phone fan since day one i own my first HTC Legend then down to incredible S and to this One X... among all, the worst i had experience was the One X. I have it exchange for 3 time already in 6 month times and seeing the 4th unit coming the way. No doubt HTC Malaysia has done a good job by keep on replacing a brand new out off the box unit for me but it does not really solve my problem and my bad experience on the One X at all .
1st unit - Wifi issue, have to press the right top part of the screen in order to get full Wifi Signal eventho i'm sitting next to a router
2nd unit - Random system restart , very often drop call with a message saying preparing sim card , battery can only last you like 5 hours but on any other day it preforming very good , phone auto turn off indicating battery low eventho it clearly said remaining 20% to 40% battery life
3th unit ( current unit ) Drop call with preparing sim card message randomly will come out on the screen , Wifi issue , same problem with above have to press the right top of the screen in order to get good Wifi signal , out of the box the screen have a small patch around the size of 1 to 2 mm of something similar to dead pixel but it does not look like one
i love the One X a lot .. but with all this problem keep on coming i was thinking is it time i should have give up on this particular model and move on with some other phone ? is there anyone which is used to be or still a One X user care to share me what you think about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus ? was it a good phone to try out ?
Else I'm afraid that if i got my 4th sets replacement i might have encounter some other problematic symptom again. Is it wise for me to write to HTC to complain ? would it help at all ?
Thanks for your advice
Gnex is a step down imo. Inferior screen, worse camera, etc etc only good thing about it is that it will receive updates quicker than anyone else due to it being a Nexus phone!
Keep trying until you get a fully working unit. There is nothing at the moment that tops the HOX apart from the SGS3 which is just as good.
i went through 6 of them. on my 7th, its finally working now. thank the lord
im glad i waited until i got a working one. i love this phone, was totally worth holding out.
now everything works properly it is simply brilliant! wifi is fantastic, i was walking down the road, and about 100m from my house, the wifi connected! with a weak signal admittedly, but it was still connected!
my old dhd would disconnect as soon as i walk out the door...
trust me, keep replacing until you get a good one. even the iphone 5 released 5 months after hox is inferior spec-wise
Wow and i taught that i was the only person that keep on swapping until you came alone ! ! will take your advice for it

Ya, I know how you feel, I've got the same wifi isue, Problem is, I bought my phone
in another country so, I can't swap it like you guys
HTC really disspointed me with this problem. I've contected they're support and they
say I can ship it to them for fix for 30euros. (and wait 6-7 weeks!!)
after the HOX I think I'm done with HTC.
Actually i had the same issue with you ... i got mine from another country as well but lucky i can get someone to send it back for me every 1 or 2 month times

Whatever you do, don't go for the galaxy nexus. I'm a bit surprised another issue seems to have appeared that's to do with my screen.
A friend of mine has a galaxy nexus, yes it's actually not that bad to be honest. But battery life is very bad.
I'd honestly wait or pick one of those (if you really want a phone now)
One X (so basically keep on trying and hope for the best) / Galaxy S 3/ Nokia lumia 920 (if you're willing to try a new os, probably nokia is best to choose from on windows) / wait for something better to come out (?)

Actually I was thinking of selling my one x and getting the nexus.
The battery is bad enough the hox, how much worse can it be on
the nexus? (and I read mostly on Black Screens)
oh, You forgot about Motorola, and it's mighty Razr HD Maxx!
BTW, I've just asked a local phone shop to fix my hox,
they want 80-90$ for this! This sucks.

[Q] Primary Camera flash greenish tint problem

Hey,
I just purchased a HTC Desire 820 dual sim about 3 days back, and on clicking pictures with flash on from the primary 13MP camera, an evident greenish tint is noticed.
Is anyone else having the same problem, or should I opt for replacement? Is it a hardware or software problem?
Attaching samples.
Please help ASAP. Thanks!
same problem here with me
I have exactly the same problem, however i requested the new replacement model from the retail online site. It's a software glitch, because playing with the setting like using florescent option it solves, so it is complete software issue, but in a replacement warranty scenario i am asking for the replacement, lets c what happens next..

I have opted for a replacement myself, but I doubt that will solve the problem. It is not a small issue, I don't know if I should persist with the device. Will HTC rectify it? Was it there before the software update too?

Same greenish tint issue
Guys,
This might sound funny to you that i first purchased this device on 25th Jan 2015 and there were no greenish tint issues in that phone but it was automatically rebooting itself when i tried to click pics with the FLASH ON. This didn't happen when I purchased the device, happened at a later stage (after a day). So I went up to HTC and asked for the repair of the device (I knew i'll get the DOA bcoz it was a faulty piece) and I got the DOA after they tested it.
Got the replacement and I'm seeing this issue on my phone. Searched around the forum to find out that I'm not the only one facing this issue.
I first thought that it would be a hardware issue but its not guys, its a software issue. Change the settings to "Flourescent" and the greenish tint disappears, though you'll see a light blue effect on it.
Lets just hope HTC releases an update for this.

Okay, As I suspected that it would be a SOFTWARE ISSUE and NOT a hardware issue was TRUE.
Today I went to the HTC Repair Center and opted for the issue to get fixed. One of its representatives pointed it to be software issue.
They took my phone and FIXED it and now the camera works perfectly fine with FLASH ON.
Hope this helps other guys out there.

It is a known issue they'll rma it for this reason. On a side note I had that issue for about 12-24 hours and went away on it's own, no restart or factory reset was required for me. Really wish I knew what or why the cause but maybe it will go away, like mine did. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks I hope so too. Really liking the phone but for this money...
agreed I almost gave up, my first 2 were too blue and the 3rd fine except started that flash, but ultimately went away. Loving this phone!

Mine started today but it has been getting better as the day goes on. I'm curious if its an issue with charging. Prior to a few days ago I had been only using the chargers with that I've received specifically for the phone, but this week--since I'm traveling for the holidays--I've only been using my pixelbook charger, so maybe something isn't properly shielded and the flash is caused by a built up charge? Reason I think that is that it has been less and less noticeable as the day goes on..

My flashing went away the next day. I did do a factory reset just because I only had it a few days and no issues since. Although Google RMA’d my phone I sent the replacement back without accepting shipment as mine has been running like a champ since.

Got my replacement a week ago, 0 flashes so far (finger crossed). I tend now to think it's a hardware issue. Also blue tint is slightly better on new device...
I just got my Pixel 2 XL delivered to me yesterday. Set it all up, didn't get the flashing screen issue at first but now it's doing it. Tried to chat with Pixel support from my phone, they don't have a resolution for it yet.... Hopefully it's a software issue?
Mine started doing this about 3-4 days ago. I noticed that it starts to do it when night mode is on. If I go the RMA route, this will be my 3rd replacement and tbh I'm not looking forward to doing this.
Mine did it once with always on display on, I don't usually use that so I turned it off and it hasn't happened since.
I just received a replacement device yesterday due to a faulty speaker. No issues with the last device, but this device is now exhibiting the screen flash when locking.

Exact thing with me. I received a brand new device that I got because my previous one had a bad speaker (speaker phone distorted sound). This new one has the screen flashing problem. My original did not. Poor QC ... especially for $850.
Mine has been doing it for a couple of days, and it kept getting worse. On chat with Google Support now. Sounds like it's going to be RMA'd.
