Has anybody been able to get a replacement phone with the advance exchange program? My epic is showing cracks all over the place. I took it to the sprint store and told me I was going to get a replacement but they could not offer me a different model. I figure since this was my 3 rd in 6 months. That I was going to get a different model.

There policy is replace with same model if possible, if not the next model up closest to it. As long as there are refurbs available that is what they will give you unless you can convince a manager or executive services that the phone is a lemon for you.

What do you mean? Its not a car lot or something where you can see all of the available ones. If you bring in a phone for exchange, they reach under the counter (or in the back) and take out a random box from the stack of Galaxy Nexus' to replace it with. Their assumption is that the phone they give you as a replacement is in good working order, so you can't just look it over and be like "no I want another one". They won't bring out 10 boxes and let you open them all and choose the one you want.
They give you that one and you deal with it. If it is exposed later on that something is defective and warrants another return, you can return this new one at that point, and you'll go through the process again.
Try and find one with the highest serial number or something on the box?

The place where I bought mine online (Europe) told me they checked and they all had defects on the screen and I could either live with it or send it back for a refund... nice...

the serial number idea was something I was looking for. Comments that just slam my question not needed

One other thing you could try is asking the Customer Rep at Verizon or wherever your going to purchase it from, to let you know when the next batch comes in and grab one of them... That way you know your going to get a new-new one? just a thought.
Im having some hardware issues.
If i get a replacement from samsung, roughly how long would it be before i recieved the phone back?
For anyone who has any sort of experience with this, your feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thru the warranty they send you the phone overnighrt. Usually you'll get it by the next day or the day after. Then after you receive it you send your defective phone via the same box the new one arrived.

You're thinking thru T-Mobile buddy, thru Sammy you need to send your device in 1st and its usually a 1 week turnaround.

Why would you send the phone to Samsung, when you can have it replaced much quicker through T-mobile? It doesn't matter where you bought it as long as you're a T-mobile customer.

You can only get a replacement through T-mobile if you have their insurance plan, otherwise you have to go through the manufacturer. You're **** out of luck if you don't have a receipt though. They don't care about the manufacture date on the phone, only the receipt.

Um no. If you bought from t mobile and chose to not take their insurance you still have a one year warranty rhat can be claimed. Through Tmobile by either calling csr reps, online chat or going to the store. Whomever told you otherwisenis misinformed.

I did send my Samsung nexus S for warranty work to Samsung and it took about 3 weeks till i got it back. Since then i have learned to always have a decent backup phone.
And this from Samsung not TMobile.

Mines took about 7-8 days. They did free 2nd day shipping both ways for me though. Got mines back better than the way I received it too lol. They replaced my cracked bezel, even though I didn't say that was the problem with my phone.

I'm looking at trading for a nexus, then trading that for a S3. Does TEP carry over or is it only for this phone?
I got lucky and a cool a employee hooked my fiancée up with TEP on a used phone she purchased. She had lost her old one, so that's why he added insurance for her.
I noticed it was phone number specific, not attached to the ESN or anything, so I'm hoping it will transfer.

I believe it carries over. I had the old epic 4g and when I cracked the screen asurion send my the epic touch. I still have insurance. And when I upgraded to the epic from Samsung moment it carried over.

For awhile they were offering it to people with older phones and that ended but I think the reps are pretty cool about putting it on used phones because they make money on it.
The rep I spoke with confirmed the TEP is on the line itself and not the specific phone you have.
TEP is tied to the account/line if you have a family plan
We are legion, for we are many.

This and whenever you swap phones, even used, you have 30 days to apply for TEP.

Long story short I have had three replacements and they have all been crap. They offered to send me a different phone, but I turned them down and said I would just send my phone to Samsung for repair, but I don't really want to do that anymore. So o have been thinking about calling them and getting it replaced with the Galaxy S3.
The only thing I am afraid of though is that they are going to tell me I can't get the S3 because it is more expensive than the nexus... I know I can fight the fact the specs on the RAZR are inferior to the Nexus, but how do I fight the specs on the Reazound if they try to offer that to me?

UPDATE: After talking to multiple customer service reps, they told me the only thing that they could do for me was update me to the DROID RAZR...I told them that that is not a "comparable device" and all of the multiple service reps still wouldnt budge. They even went as far as to tell me that their system WILL NOT allow them to upgrade me to the Galaxy S3. Anyway, so I was fed up with the customer service B.S. and so I emailed their executive office. After about two days, I received an email from them asking for the account info and some contact info. They told me that under normal circumstances they wouldnt do this, but she told me the issue I was complaining about with my Galaxy Nexus was a know issue, but at the moment, they dont have a fix for it. She also told me that the customer service people were lying. That the system will let them do it, but it is just a little more difficult. The only thing that I am kind of knit picky about is that theyre sending me the blue one, because they dont have any white ones left, but its whatevs...at least I am getting a free phone and I won.
A couple people here and at Rootz have stated that after speaking with supervisors and pushing the specs that they have been offered CLNR S3's but I have had no such luck...The Razor Maxx was the end of the line
That's ridiculous... the RAZR Maxx has an older chipset and a smaller lower resolution screen

Gf will be going on her third gnex vzw replacement due to dropping signal losing data while mine is strong 4g. The third should be here tomorrow. If it doesn't work I'm pushing for an S3 and she wants my nexus and I'll take the s3 now that the bl's are unlocked.
They noted my account to state this is the last gnex they will send and after that they will try to negotiate a different phone. Helped that the current problem phone dropped data while I was on the phone with tech and they saw it happen. Also helps they screwed up on their end and sent a regular RAZR as a replacement the first time.
Think I may have a shot at getting one.

Tell them you need at least your current screen resolution/size and you use NFC daily. Only 1 phone on Verizon fits that criteria.

I tried and tried...even argued specs and the fact that the other phones dont have NFC...they wouldnt budge.
So, my power button has decided to act up and when I touch it, it brings up the extended menu, and no matter what I do from there it restarts the phone. So I took it to my local sprint store, and the guy told me to take the peice that actually pushes the button off and clean it myself. Offered no help, or how to do it or anything. Well needless to say I tried, and now it's completely stuck. Do you think I could get it fixed or a replacement for free because of that or no?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
If there is no water damage. I'm sure you can get it replaced.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 4
Take it to a sprint repair center. They'll replace it for free if you have insurance since this is a common problem. I had this issue with my 1st phone and had it replaced within 3 days because of it.

I don't have insurance though, and it would have been fine had the guy not told me to do that. Plus idk where there's a repair center near me.

I YouTubed it myself, as the sprint repair center said they won't fix it unless I give them $150. I told them no way I would give them that kind of money for a phone that was free at their store. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Just waiting until December, then t mobile here I come.

OUCH! Good luck with that one. At least call them constantly telling them service sucks or something. I did that for like 3 weeks straight. Finally just told them they aren't holding up to their end of the bargain. They removed all kinds of towers in my area to make room for the "upgrade" but don't plan on starting until 2015. Asked them to cancel and waive my etf. Gave me $30 off per month until contact is up. Forced roaming on vzw and things are OK that way. Basically waiting to either get kicked, or contract end, whichever is first.
