It is based on ACS/CWM recovery with mods and edits done by me with a huge help from original creator of ACS recovery Chris41g and sfhub.
They helped me every step of the way and they helped me to make this recovery "safe".

Just flashed it says fe16...Is this right?
The Odin one is FF02 the cwm is fe16

Try to download zip again.
It was up for a bit with wrong kernel in it.
Should be right now. I hope.

Agat, quick question that you may be able to answer. Why can't we mount sd card (both int /ext) as usb mass storage from within recovery.? The last time I remember this working was in a certain gb recovery don't recall exactly which one but if it helps I can figure it out

That would be helpful. If I know what recovery it was I can try to figure out what needs to be changed in recovery codes to make it happen.

[ACS][Odin]Stock EG30 Odexed with Root 3.0/Busybox 1.18.4

Big thanks to RoadRAGEN for helping me figure out an ext4 issue! Odin this to get Odexed stock EG30 with latest root and su binary and Busybox 1.18.4.
This does not wipe data.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
I have only tested this with the stock kernel and Bubby's CWM kernel.
Download
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have installed the proper XP or Win7 drivers before starting. Also, remove the SD card from the phone (this may not be necessary, but having the SD card installed has caused Odin to fail for a number of people, so might as well just do it).
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a folder
2. Open odin
3. Put your phone in download mode (Shut it off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold v-down + power)
4. connect phone (you should see odin put a Com4 or something like that in the first box. The actual number is NOT important what is important is something popped up there when you connected your device, meaning ODIN can see it)
5. The only box that should be checked is Auto Reboot.
6. You do not need to choose a pit file.
7. In the PDA Section choose the tar file. (Odexed-Rooted-Busybox-EG30.tar)
8. Hit start. It will do its thing.
9. If it fails than try a new cable.
10. If the phone hangs for any reason take the battery and sdcard out and let it sit for an hour. Put it back together and try again.

Yes. That is what I have done in testing.
So with this we will have as stock of a ROM as we can currently have, yet still have root and busybox? By stock, I mean the default, out of the factory stock ROM which many claim does not have the LOS issues? Just confused somewhat...
Dude, major win here. Good work!

How bad is it if you put the the tar file in the bootloader spot by mistake? It still worked and seems to be fine. Im rooted with stock kernel.
Thanks

Nothing is bad as long as you can get into download mode no matter what you did. If it won't work you just odin it back.

That is correct. It is a stock file system with root and busybox. This is not a kernel so it will not replace that or any issues with that.

[FEEDBACK]Darchstar CM9 ROM *Help,Tips, and Tricks*

I suggested this thread to Darchstar and I got the go ahead to create it.
I hope, the purpose of it is self-explanatory. It's for all feedback, except bug reports. Logcats are preferred with your bug reports and post them on Darch's ROM thread.
Keep insults and down talks in PMs.

I wasnt fully sure which recoveries were the ICS or the gingerbread, and that when you did flash CM9, the EL26 recovery would get overwritten. Thats how I got mine bricked when I tried to wipe and restore. Just add something along the lines of...
If trying to restore to your old backup...
1. Reboot to DOWNLOAD mode (power+vol-down)
2. Using ODIN (link) flash to StockCWM EL26.
3. Wipe and do a factory reset.
4. Then try to restore... yada yada or whatever the exact right procedure is.

As Darch's OP says, Wipe Data (Factory Reset). You should see that option in cwm stock recovery
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
I think some people are over looking the fact that the OP asked darchstar if this thread was a good idea and darchstar gave him a green light. By that alone, I have no problem with this. There have been discussion threads in development forums in the past and if this clears up some of the garbage on the main page, then job well done. But please stop bashing the guy, he's clearly just trying to be helpful.

[ROM][CM9][AOKP] Temporary Stock E4GT from emmc

Epic Touch Blog: Temporary Stock E4GT from emmc
Utility for CM9 Epic Touch
This is a temporary ROM that boots Samsung's Gingerbread EL29 firmware entirely from emmc without making any changes to the ROM currently installed on your phone. When you reboot, you return to recovery where you can re-flash the ROM to return to CM9. This temporary ROM is useful for several purposes.
Update Profile.
Update PRL.
Sprint Activation.
Dial codes and diagnostic mode.
This should be helpful to users of any AOSP-based ROM including CM9, AOKP, etc.
Thanks to noobnl and mkasick for making this possible!

This definitely will come in handy, can I suggest seeing if you can get a video made of how it works. I can honestly say It seems to help out quite a bit in this forum for a lot of people and does cut down on the crazy questions.

Its for AOSP roms. You currently can't update PRL/Profile, activate your device, or use dialer codes on them so this temporarily allows you to boot stock el29 off the SD card without changing your current rom. You can do what i said from there. Saves you time from doing backups, restoring, etc.

I'm hoping that someone can help me out as I am unable to boot into the temporary ROM. Here are the steps I followed:
1. I have everything extracted to emmc as directed.
2. I flashed directboot CWM utilizing mobile odin which correctly booted me into CWM version 5.0.2.7
3. I flashed boot_EL29.zip at location /emmc/multiboot/EL29 and received the following messages that appear to be correct.
Finding Update Package...Opening Update Package...Installing Update...Boot /emmc/multiboot/EL29/zImageCreate mount symlink.Remount partitions read-only.(Re)mount /emmc read-only.Unpack kexec.Load zImage and initramfs.Sync.Reboot into zImage.Install from sdcard complete.4. At this point I expected the phone to reboot into the temporary rom; however, it just shows the standard recovery menu. No reboot occured.
5. Because no automatic reboot occured, I selected "reboot system now" from CWM. Unfortunately this just brings me back into directboot CWM.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
I am having the same problem I thought it could have been the downloading or unpacking so I downloaded it again and unpacked it and still have the same problem.

When done updating prl/profile, etc. Just reboot your phone and it will take you back to cwm recovery. From there you can either just reflash the rom or just a compatible kernel so it boots.

Gold star!!! Thank you so much for getting this out so quickly.
I'm going to ask a noob question, since I stay in the shallow water normally with sfhubs one clicks. Could you provide a little more detail in how we use / install this?
Would I ODIN this directly from FF02? Or do I first ODIN FF09 from the one click (data or no data), then ODIN your kernel?
Second question would be, with your recovery included within, could we flash Calks, your rom or Blu Kuban's rom without brick fear? Can we nandroid with your recovery? I'm a little fuzzy on all these recoveries now and which ones are safe, which ones are useful, etc.
Thanks for your time. I appreciate what you do.

You can odin, mobile odin, or I'll have it in Auto Root in probably an hour. Had to take a nap.

We keep his kernels in the updater, I flash with them all day, you need to be aware of what it is you're flashing cause you may unknowingly flash an app or something with that format() command which is what wakes that ugly superbrick Galaxy killer.
Running it and loving it! Thanks for all your work Agat!
Thank you Agat! As always, your right on top of it. we really appreciate these repacked kernels.

[NEW][KERNEL] CM9 FF11 repack with AGAT recovery 0.2.1

There was a request (more than one) via PM to repack CM9 kernel with my recovery. I know there is a better recovery available but I liked the challenge and decided to give it a try.
With help from Chris41g I was able to make this repack.
Base of this repack is CM9 FF11 kernel.
Everything and anything that worked in FF11 kernel should be working here.
Never used CM before so I have hard time testing repack.
So far I have noticed 3 things.
1. 4G is not turning on.
2. When I mount usb I see only external SD card. Internal storage is not showing up.
3. In settings when I try to go to storage settings.apk is FC.
Other than that everything is working (I think).
Recovery is CM7 (GB) based and has been tested very extensively with TW roms and modified CM/AOSP/AOKP roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27124691&postcount=484
We some help I hope to fix those 3 bugs as well but for now I think you can use this repack as alternative if you want to.
Links for tar and zip files:
1. FF11_CM9_AGAT.tar flash with ODIN or mobile ODIN
2. FF11_CM9_AGAT.zip flash in any unlocked recovery.
I have tried both. Flashed tar with mobile odin and flashed zip file with CWM recovery.
If you guys like it I might need some help to finish this project and make sure everything is working.

This is awesome but why use FF11 and not FF18? Just wondering, good job as always.

As I stated in OP I don't know much about CM.
I took whatever kernel was available.
Gimmi FF18 CM kernel and I'll repack it as well.
