I was running an ICS rom.
I downloaded this rom to the sd card. Wiped data, cache, and dalvik.
Installed the zip and loaded up the phone.
I've lost all data/signal/connection.
I even tried returning the phone to stock, but still no luck.
Any suggestions? Please help. Otherwise I have to return my phone to the store tomorrow.
Thanks so much.
Downloaded which Rom? When you tried returning to stock was it with an ruu, or with a nand backup?

How did you go back to stock? Just by flashing another ROM through recovery?
If so then try the complete return to stock with the file that CondemnedSoul posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599767
I just went through the same issue with the new 710d ROM and this got me up and running again.
You will have to use fastboot and then you will need to install another reocvery and reroot.

So I just recently rooted my phone and was using the wireless tether with no problem.
Today I tried to flash the new caulkulin ROM, but I forgot to backup 1st. Threw the ROM on my phone and booted into CWM. Then I ran the reformat file as instructed, but I have no SD card in my phone, so I think it deleted the rom and everything else on the phone.
Now I am just stuck at exclamation screen. I can still get into CWM. I tried loading an SD card from my evo 3g with the calkulin rom on it, but it doesn't seem to recognize it.
Am I screwed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
can you get into download mode? Odin something.
Or, try moving a file from your computer to your internal sd and flash that from recovery. any rom will do.

I found a acs-eg30-stock-kernal-pulled.tar in my recycle bin on my laptop but it's only 8mb. Is this an incomplete file?
The pc I'm on now wont let me transfer anything off it, and I have no internet otherwise.

That's just the kernel, not sure if it'll fix your problem...worth a shot.
My suggestion is that you download (when you get a chance) the Odin back to stock tar, it's like 450 megs, but always good to have to start fresh. It'll make you cwr and root free but that's an easy fix.

Did this work? I also semi-bricked my phone in the same exact way. I'm coming from EVO 3D, so still getting used to CWM and ODIN. So all we do is go back in to ODIN mode and flash the stock-EG30.tar file?
---------- Post added at 03:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:00 PM ----------
It worked. Big thanks to Duce HD2 for the tip!
You dpnt have to format system unless ur flashing starburst. Viper and calculyns dont need format system. Just wipe everything.
Just incase you havnt done it yet
flashing that kernel wont help you one bit if you formated system
and youl lose cwm too.
hold on ill look up the tar you want.
edit this would bring your whole phone back to stock so you can start over
would have no root and no cwm

Hello folks,
I am a newbie to the forum but I am constantly on the site checking stuff out and finally decided to join!
Anyways,
I recently updated my phone to the new Jelly Bean OTA released from sammobile and find that the wi-fi calling feature that doesn't work is a big no-no for me. I need it constantly since I am in college and most of my classes have wi-fi in basements that have no cell phone service.
If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.
I tried downloading the stock rom from sammobile and installing it and I got an error:
"signature failed".
I did factory wipe and partition wipe prior to trying to apply the update. I also put the file as update.zip (no I did not make the file update.zip.zip) in the root of the external sd card.
Any other tips?
DL zip from this post, extract and use Odin to flash.
It's the H2 ICS update.

I'm wondering how to factory reset because I'm on CM10 and I need to send my phone in for warranty.
The mini usb port on the bottom on the phone doesn't really work.
Is there any way i can download a backup file or something like that to make my phone go back into the original rom and then i can factory reset and unroot?

Get in recovery and make a nandroid backup. You can also use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps and data. You'll have to made a copy of those files on your pc to get them back once your phone is back.
You'll have to reset the flash counter (while you're rooted), flash stock firmware with Odin (can be found in the Dev section) and factory reset in recovery.
Also, backup your pics and such (DCIM folder) to your pc if you wanna keep them.
Last thing, take time to search next time it has been covered quite a few times.

he said the micro usb port isnt working though. all this below is assuming you made a nandroid and have a micro sd card.
here's a link to a page that details how to setup your phone for return. this page is for the i9300 but i've included the links for i747 to use whenever an i9300 file is requested. after your nandroid restore and initial boot, see what base band you're on to know which modem you might need. read over the link a few times to become familiar and proceed at your own risk.

Hednik is right. If you've accomplished a successful odin flash (no errors) go ahead and wipe data/cache in recovery. After flashing stock in odin, it is common for phones to bootloop or stick at the samsung logo. A wipe usually resolves this

I've had this problem before, it normally happens to me when installing an older rom after a newer one, due to the way partitions are formatted. Flash this via CWM, then reflash the rom: SuperWipeG2 If that doesn't work, just let me know and I'll try and help

I have the same issue and your suggestion didn't help.
Tried several times, both deodexed version and the original, but neither worked. Tried flashing the SuperWipeG2+ext4 before installing stock, after installing stock (flashing stock, SuperWipe, stock again) on both normal and deodexed versions. Still the phone loads up the HTC logo+vibrate, takes a few seconds, makes a small vibration again and nothing happens.
All other custom ROM's that I've tried work. I've tried CyanKat, CM11, CM7.2, Vision G-lite 2.0.0.
I'm trying to go back to stock, because all custom ROM's have a huge battery drainage issue that I am unable to resolve (but lets keep that to another thread). The stock ROM did not have the issue.
Stock ROM is no formatted to ext4, but besides this are you trying to go back to stock but keep custom recovery and secure flags off or completely return to stock as the method to do so will differ
Either way you should find what you need here
