Updated to 1.29.206.11 anybody know whats changed and am glad to see O2 is finally catching up
Can anyone tell me if the HBOOT and radio get updated in this update, or is it just the system files that get an uplift?
I'm running a custom ROM, so I can't run the O2 1.26 ruu!
Anyone know if there's a 1.28 O2 ruu knocking around?

Yes, i need that too ... i dont know can i still instal the 1.26 ruu, but i think i cant downgrade because im runing now on 401.11 ... am i right ?
Crazy that the slowest provider for the first update is the fastest carrier for the most important update. Come on t-mob, pull your finger out...

Did you don't keep a back up of stock just in case? That's what I'm doing,
flash stock boot.IMG, flashing stock recovery, then fastboot up cwm restoring stock then upgrading.
Then right back into cwm to back it up.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
That's what I would have done if I hadn't been stupid enough to not make a backup of stock straight after doing the 1.28 OTA.
No stock backup = I'm screwed until a 1.28 ruu comes out (or S-OFF!)

Although my new handset never suffered from screen flickering as it goes so I perhaps won't see much difference?
But good to see O2 getting on the ball and jumping to .11 straight away.

So whats the proceedure from say, Leedroid 4?
Nandroid backup current
Extract boot.img from original rom
Full wipe and nandroid back to stock voda rom
Fastboot flash boot.img
Flash original recovery (where is this?)
Relock bootloader using htc token
boot into stock voda rom, download and apply OTA
unlock bootloader
flash cwm
nandroid restore leedroid 4
sound about right?

All looks good, though I don't know why you'd bother It's been stated many times that 1.28 base roms are NOT reliant on the new hboot. Can flash straight over the top of the previous version.
It also has some risk if you're looking at S-OFF. Obviously focus at the moment is on hboot in 1.26, if you update now you may not be able to S-OFF right away (if/when it happens).
M.
Any idea how to then save this OTA when it gets pushed? not just a nandroid backup

Apparently the new hboot fixes fastboot and stops all the problems associated with low battery level and not being able to boot to rom/recovery.

1.29.061.11So what's new Pussycats?
Anyone got a link to the changelog??
There is NEVER a changelog for OTA updates, at least not from HTC - when will people remember this!!
The ONLY one I've ever seen was for the unbranded 1.29.401.7 OTA - you can read it here:
http://www.htc.com/uk/help/htc-one-x/#download
Orange do seem better these days with updates maybe its just because this phone is more upgradeable than my old desire.
Just downloading my update as I type.
Nice surprise to start the weekend o/
Installed smoothly.
My phone had ruu 1.29.061.11 however I bricked my phone and I need to find this RUU so I can save it. But I cannot find the full RUU anywhere
I have a copy of a non upgrading orange uk ruu. 1.26.061.2.
PM me and I'll upload it somewhere for a day or so.

Thanks but I have tried this RUU and it failed. I have been told this because it wont allow you to install an older RUU then you already have. I really need the 1.29.061.11 or newer RUU because this is what my phone had before I messed it up.
(This is where I read this)
' Note that the RUUs will all function on any of the phones, but the CID locking prevents you from 'debranding' your phone by installing a generic [[#RUU]]. Additionally, the CID-related software also prevents you from installing an older RUU than what you are currently running.'-The android dictionary
hmmmm. Well I started with 1.26.061.5 and was able to install .2

hmm maybe its only the '1.26' or the '1.29' that need to go up. Also would you know if It makes a difference if the bootloader is locked or unlocked when installing a ruu?
I imagine you're supposed to reflash the generic recovery and relock but I'd have to go have a read.
I've been holding off rooting myself in the hope of discovering s-off.
I will just have to wait for the latest orange ruu to be uploaded
Hi. My HOX is having a data signal issue where it wont connect sometimes, gets no signal when it should and shows a signal but wont connect to the internet.
It seemed fine before 1.28 but ever since 1.28 it had this problem. I thought 1.29 would fix this issue as i thinks it's software related but no. My wifi signal is perfect so its not hardware? I did the squeeze test to see if it affects the network signal but it doesn't.
I've looked around the site but cant find a full 1.29 rom and instructions. Can anyone provide me with a link please? Otherwise I'm gunna have to send this HOX back too(4th). Which is starting to get annoying!
Thanks Andy
You are on a 1.29 ROM now, correct? If so, you should back up all your data then do a factory data restore. This can be done by going to Settings >.Storage - factory data reset.

Thanks for the reply. I should of already said I have done a hard reset, no change. I think the installation files are corrupted or something?
What software build are you on at the mo?
I'm on 1.29. Locked unbranded and on 3. Most people have said use a custom rom because the radio version from 1.28 is bad. But this will void my warranty right? I think i'm gunna need a warranty with the one x!

I have a O2 UK branded hox, which i've unlocked and use on Tesco Mobile's network (actually uses O2 network) but just wondering if I would still receive OTA updates if I revert back to stock, as it was my understanding they were pushed out by the network providers?
Yes you can still receive OTA updates if you revert back to stock .
The phone checks HTC servers for updates using the Internet. It has nothing to do with the provider.

Correct. It's the software build you're using that determines the updates. For example, if you're running x.xx.61.x (Orange UK) and you don't change this bar using a different SIM card you'll only get update that have x.xx.61.x in it
Thanks guys just gotta figure out how to put it back to stock now....
What HBOOT are you on? If you're on an earlier one you might be able to get away with the 1.2x RUU but if you had the 2.17.61.x OTA update recently I believe you're stuck as that RUU hasn't surfaced yet

If you've not unlocked/rooted/gone custom at all it's very simple! Go to Settings>About phone>Software information and make a note of the build number, e.g. 2.17.401.2

Take the boot.img from the RUU...although you don't need to if you're going to flash the RUU. All you have to do is relock the bootloader and run it when the phone is in fastboot mode - it'll put it back to 100% stock
Many thanks, just found my original Nandroid too should I need it

Managed to do it by restoring my original nandroid I did as soon as I unlocked the bootloader, at first it was boot looping but i flashed the boot.img from nandroid and it is fine, ota showed the 4.0.4 update immediately and managed to download it, now back onto arhd 9.7.2 so at least I know I can get back, will just have to relock it next time and flash stock recovery. will just have to figure out which recovery would be needed.
You don't need to relock to install OTA.
I order my phone from carphonewarehouse for a sim free and got the OTA (1.54.401.5) when I turn on the phone on Wednesday.
On Saturday, because my screen had a dead pixel, I exchange a new one, also sim free.

Same problem here, on Vodafone.
I just got off the HTC UK chat desk, and they say they don't know when the update will be available.
For anyone has this problem, I just call the HTC custom service, they told me we need to wait our IMEI into the system, then we can have this update.
