I order my phone from carphonewarehouse for a sim free and got the OTA (1.54.401.5) when I turn on the phone on Wednesday.
On Saturday, because my screen had a dead pixel, I exchange a new one, also sim free.
But this time, I check the update, I didn't got the OTA to 1.54.401.5. The current version is 1.12.401.17. Did anybody know what's happened?

Still now, I still haven't received the OTA, so I don't have the extreme power saver mode.

It seems a common problems, wait for HTC now.
Anyone else got the same issue?
Same problem here, on Vodafone.
I just got off the HTC UK chat desk, and they say they don't know when the update will be available.
For anyone has this problem, I just call the HTC custom service, they told me we need to wait our IMEI into the system, then we can have this update.
Someone posted the update here http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407581702
I get a cid check failure when I try and install it on my M8. Done through default recovery. Very annoying!

You (historically) need S-OFF to do that, although a CID failure would indicate you don't have HTC__001 as your CID (is yours a Three M8?)

With all other HTC handsets, if you didn't have S-OFF you couldn't flash an OTA in stock recovery - it'd error out and reboot

So whats the proceedure from say, Leedroid 4?
Nandroid backup current
Extract boot.img from original rom
Full wipe and nandroid back to stock voda rom
Fastboot flash boot.img
Flash original recovery (where is this?)
Relock bootloader using htc token
boot into stock voda rom, download and apply OTA
unlock bootloader
flash cwm
nandroid restore leedroid 4
sound about right?

All looks good, though I don't know why you'd bother It's been stated many times that 1.28 base roms are NOT reliant on the new hboot. Can flash straight over the top of the previous version.
It also has some risk if you're looking at S-OFF. Obviously focus at the moment is on hboot in 1.26, if you update now you may not be able to S-OFF right away (if/when it happens).
M.
Any idea how to then save this OTA when it gets pushed? not just a nandroid backup

Apparently the new hboot fixes fastboot and stops all the problems associated with low battery level and not being able to boot to rom/recovery.
This wasn't a problem for me, until 2pm today when all hell broke loose. Now it's worth the hassle - if I hadnt been at home I would;ve been phoneless.....AGGGH!

Hey there
I have an unbranded/unlocked HTC One X and am using it with Vodafone (probably relevant) in Australia.
Could anyone tell me when I may receive the OTA update to fix all the issues etc etc? Or point me in the right direction to find out myself?
My phone came with 1.26.708.2.
Thanks in advance!
Hong Kong is 1.26.708.2 and has no update either. HTC are being tight lipped on the situation.
Makes sense...phone came from Hong Kong.
So essentially we don't know if that version is getting an update ever?
Could keep an eye on here:
http://blog.vodafone.com.au/blog/software-update-weekly-wrap-18042012/
It says that Vodafone waiting for HTC to submit update
Will do... but does that mean I'm still waiting for Vodafone even if my phone is unbranded?
Or did you must mean that as a general guideline as to when I'll get the update?
Ha completely missed the unbranded part. I just saw Australia, vodafone, update, when. lol
I'm not too sure how it would work then. Most likely need to wait for the Hong Kong unbranded update. Otherwise there is always unlocking, then custom rom
Bloody Hong Kong
Custom ROM sounds more appealing anyway!
Thanks mate.

It won't flash as you won't have the correct CID.
M.
CID isn't to blame, you HAVE to be on 1.26.161.2 to get that update - hence it being in the file name of the OTA

I'm with Telstra. Brought My HOX from expansys which drop shipped from Hong Kong. They send me the European unlocked version - maybe because expansys appears to be a European company? I received the 1.28 upgrade option to upgrade just hours after it was released.

What's the CID of the handset? And current build version?
CID on white one is, 11111111
How do I get build version
If it is build number it is 1.29.401.7 CL60260
So you have a test handset then? Retail unbranded handsets in the UK are HTC__001
That is the CID of my grey one. So must be I did get giving the white one by HTC two days before release.
Strange though cause if I use CID getter on white one and scroll down the ro.aa.maincid HTC__001
So the grey one has Super CID (11111111)? Or do you mean the grey one is HTC__001?
Are either phone S-OFF if you look in HBOOT?
Grey one is HTC__001
Both are S-ON
Hmmmm...I'm guessing the white one has the 1.29 update due to SuperCID, grey one will have to wait like the rest of us

Did you don't keep a back up of stock just in case? That's what I'm doing,
flash stock boot.IMG, flashing stock recovery, then fastboot up cwm restoring stock then upgrading.
Then right back into cwm to back it up.
