Hi Guys
I flashed my Wildfire with Cyanogen Mod 7 a few days back. I am absolutely new to flashing, and this is the first time I ever tried something like this. Flashing was a breeze with no problems.
However, when I was going through the different settings Under Cyanogem mod settings option and by mistake seem to have permanently locked my phone.
I cannot access my phone lock screen to unlock it !
I was trying to activate lock screen gestures and thought I dont need the lock screen slider anymore.
Here are the exact steps I followed:
Cyanogenmod settings -> Lock screen settings -> Lock screen styles -> Disable lock screen slider
I did not even activate alternate mode to unlock !
Please HELP !!
Usually "Disable lockscreen slider" is unselectable unless you have "Menu unlock" and/or "Trackball unlock" ticked.
I think i will have to wipe data/factory reset under the recovery. That's the only option I see, but will loose all my applications.
But then i guess that's the price you pay for such a silly mistake.
But thanks for the prompt response !

There's an app in the market called app extractor, first take a nandroid backup then wipe data, reboot and install app extractor and use it to extract all your apps and data from the backup.
Don't extract the settings data though as you'll have to start again.

Make someone to call u then press the home button. Then u can easily go to settings and enable the slider again

You can create a backup of your settings and then if you mess up your phone you can go back and restore the backup, among a few other things like wipe your phone clean and start fresh.
Ty for the help. I was just wondering as for some reason I can't disable HTC sense and I was hoping to do recovery to fix it
Any ideas? When I force quit sense and hit the home button I don't get asked to choose what to load. This is even after taking sense off default
Download home switcher or another launcher from the market.

Ok guys. This might sound a bit loopy but I am unable to unlock my Evo using screen gestures. I stupidly changed the sensitivity to "9"(more strict. I had it at 3 when I built the gestures. I have access to through adb. Is there anyway to disable the screen gesture lockscreen through adb and/or enable the rotary/slider lockscreen using adb on windows? Or is it possible to wipe my current cm input settings in adb? I don't want to wipe! I have cm6.1.1 nightly 203/12-23-10. Please help.
...ok. then. Is there anyway to RE-ENABLE the menu button to unlock using android then? Or enable the slide to unlock using adb?
Do you have a recent nandroid from before you changed this? If so, go ahead and wipe and just restore your nandroid...

Hi,
I am running an Andromadus port (Icecream JIBwich 1.2) and trying to rerun the Setup wizard to change some setting but couldn't figure out a way to do so?
If anyone has some idea please help
Any comment would also be appreciated
Which settings do you want to change? Usually you can change them in the settings menu.

You can't change every setting from the wizzard in the settings menu. If you prefer the wizard and want to run it again from scratch you could always do a factory reset which will wipe all user data.

I wanted to enable the boot animation (disabled during Setup Wizard) and change the battery indicator and signal bar. These are not in the settings.

For now I just want to enable the boot animation, to try different ones. Is there any easy way to do it beside factory reset?
Many thanks.
Not sure if this will work, but try flashing gapps again, and it might pop it up again. Or better yet, try removing the old one and flash a new one.
Both those settings can be changed. Go to settings>performance for the boot animation. And the battery indicators can be changed at settings>system>status bar. No need to rerun the initial set up.

For some reason I can't edit my original post, I meant to say you CAN change any setting. Sorry about any confusion.

Yes, they are indeed there. Thank you.
You can try this; INSTRUCTIONS:
- The first step, return to the Home first.
- 2nd Step: Click on Menu
- 3rd Step: Go to Settings-> Application-> Manage Application.
- 4th Step: Locate and click Google Apps
- 5th Step: Click the ”Clear Data”
- 6th Step: When the show prompted ”All information you’ve saved in this application will be deleted Permanently ”, click OK
- 7th Step: Then press the “Back” then to click the”Synchronize Data” or through the Home> Menu> Settings> Data synchronization.
- It will appear the Wizard to insert a Google account new. This wizard appears when we just bought a new android handset or when we’ve just done a wipe through hardreset.
If your Android already in the root, you can do this more easy way:
1. Once root, use root explorer.
2. Insert the data / system
3. Delete the file ”accounts.db”
4. Once removed, Restart / Reboot your smartphone.
I did a factory reset and then restored my apps and system settings with Titanium backup. Now I cannot get past the lockscreen. I have set up a 4 digit code, but the tablet says it is wrong. I was fine until I did the restore with Titanium.
In HC after 4 wrong entries it gave you the option to reset the password using your gmail address. But in ICS I get no such option. I am stuck. How can I get past this to get back into the tablet? Do I have to do a complete reinstall and if so, how do I do that when I cannot unlock the tablet?

I installed the leaked ICS over HC 3.21. I updated the leaked version 2 times and ended up with the final leak, which appears to be the same as the official release. The bootloader is stock.
I rooted the tablet and backed up with Titanium backup. Everything was working, except it had some stutters when it would not respond for a few seconds.
When I did the factory reset it seemed file. But some apps were not reinstalled by the Google server backup and the WiFi settings were lost. So I restored the missing apps and system settings with Titanium backup. When I restarted the tablet after the restoration, I could not longer use my 4 digit code to unlock the tablet.
I can get into the recovery menu, but I cannot figure out how to choose the "wipe" option.
There is no option after trying the unlock code to enter my email address as there was for HC.
Let me know if you need some other information. Thanks for your help.

ok kool thanks for the info!
well i dont remember the stock recovery very much...but power button should still be select and vol buttons to navigate.
if you cannot wipe from recovery there is a key sequence to wipe data...
1) Place the rotation lock switch in the up position 2) Press and hold the Volume down button, which is located farthest from the rotation lock 3) With the Volume down button held, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it. Continue holding the Volume down button. 4) Once the tablet vibrates, switch the rotation lock on and off repeatedly while still holding the Volume down button. 5) Release the Volume down button and stop switching the rotation lock once the "Erasing Userdata..." message appears in the upper left corner of the screen 6) Once the factory reset has been completed your tablet will load to the Welcome screen.
if that still doesnt work...do what u did before and flash the update.zip from the sdcard...
just a word of advice...restoring apps is ok...and system data like wifi passwords...bluetooth pairings etc
but once u get into restoring apps WITH data.,bad things can happen. ive seen it myself and no longer restore any data...just apps and bluetooth pairings..
cheers man!

That's disappointing to hear. I thought that was the advantage of using Titanium backup compared to just installing the apps manually from the market. I will restore more selectively.
Everytime someone calls my phone, and i go to swipe the green icon across, it nevera wants to swipe over far enough to activate the call. No amount of swipe, tapping, cursing seems to fix it. Ive turned on the sensitivity thingy thru the display menu but that doesnt work. Im almost a year into this stock Note 4.

Rooted or un-rooted? If rooted, could be kernel settings.

All stock....nothing changed. I like my warranty and ins odlly enough havent had to use it yet, unlike my G3 i was on my 4th phone before year 1.

Partial solution: goto Settings, search "answering", click on answering and ending calls and select answer with home key and/or the command "answer". Done.
Not good enough? Other potential fixes:
Goto stock recovery and delete cache and dalvik and reboot phone.
-or-
Factory reset.

Open Dialer, dial *#2663# (You most likely don't need the S-Pen to dial but using S-pen may help for those that mistakenly flashed the wrong custom recovery and need this to restore touch.), then update the touch FW by pressing "TSP FW update (General)". It's harmless to restore if not needed but maybe it helps. Maybe just a refresh after update is needed?
None of these will void the warranty but you may consider backing up with KIES or Helium before factory reset. No root alternatives. There's also Drive, Samsung and Google backup and restore but not so data app friendly on restore.
