Anybody running the GB sense leak getting crappy 4g signal quality? Ill be across the street from a 4g tower and only get around 1/2 to mabye 3/4 signal strength. I updated the radios from Calkulins latest radio update post and updated profile but to no avail.
Just wondering if i'm the only one.
Could just be the speeds I'm your area. Also it wouldn't matter if you're right under a tower if there's a **** ton of people on it then that will also keep your speeds very low. Try using the speed test app at different times of the day before you rule out the rom being the problem I've had 2 bars of signal before and still got 6mb while having 4 bars and getting 2mb on 4G. Test out on a different rom I guess.
I figured it was the rom when my 4g signal on 2.2 sense and 2.3 aosp is strong where its supposed to be and runs great (4-6 mps and 5-7 mps respectively) but on this rom leak the signal quality sucks and the speeds suck (2-3 mps).
These speed tests were done between 4 and 530pm during the week.
for me the speeds are roughly the same but the signal (bars for 4g) show only 1 as opposed to other sense roms show 2-3

I am considering upgrading my radio from 622 to 722. My only concern with this is that I'm wondering if it is really worth it.
Has anyone that upgraded found better improvement in anything? Signal, call clarity, speed, etc...?
I have searched around the forums and no one really says if they found improvement, stayed the same, or worse,

i upgraded my radio to 722 running skyradier zeus I live where always have a good signal so i haven't noticed any difference with my set up

Conversely, I updated to 722 and have horrible signal at our house- haven't noticed any improvement in signal strength or data speed. Signal stays between -101 and -106 dB and data runs at a blazing 300 kb/s. WiFi FTW!
I live in a mediocre signal area and the 722 improved my signal slightly. I drop way less calls data speeds seem the same. All in all no one can really give you a definitive answer. Just try it out if its no good flash 622 back no biggie it only takes like a minute to flash it

I'm in an area with weak signal and had no improvement.
Also still losing WiFi frequently in an area where other equipment has no problems.

that's probably a kernel issue as it has iptables, and 3G is a different radio from wifi.
My questions is. How come on different roms I get different signal strenght readings? I am on CM7.2 right now and the signal seems great. But on other roms signal isnt so great. By the way I am a NOOB....
Is it just me or is anyone else having WAY better reception with these new radio builds. I use to only get 3G one bar in my room now I get 4 bars on 4G. Everywhere I seem to go my signal is way better and I get 4G in alot more radios. I'm on AOKP milestone 5 with the new IMM76k radio
The 4G does play a role on my battery life but I just switch to 3G until I need 4G
You must have missed the other threads about this...because you felt the need to create a new one.
When running any sense based rom i get solid download speeds of 10+mbs in my house and about 2mbs up.
When I flash any CM based rom I'm lucky to get half of that. It's really sad. I love PA and CM but can't use them because of this.
I'm on T-Mobile.
Just curious if anyone else has this issue.
Also that data icon just flips between 3g and h+ constantly. I have a cell fi Booster in my home, which gives me solid H+. So idk.
