I have some troubles with my lapdock.
The touchpad some times doesn't work at all. And some times it's to sensitive, reacts even on warm from my hand on distance 10cm.
Somebody had the same problems? Or it's normal for this touchpad?
It started from one moment to other? maybe it has dust... have you tryed cleaning it?
Problem solved - the cable from touchpad was not full pluged in.
Thanks for help!
Hi, what connector was it that wasn't plugged in properly, I am having similar problems although, it seems, not quite as bad. Just erratic movement, or no response at all :s

touch screen replacement
I had the same problem on my Universal and opened it to find out what happened.
I found the cable connecting the LCD and touch screen completely twisted.
Someone has played with it turning the screen in the same direction for many times without unscrewing it every time.
I manged to fix it partially soldering some wires that had gone loose.
Some wires were impossible to handle so I need a new wiring cable (it's a bunch of single ultra-tiny wires).
Now screen, mike and headpiece work again, but not the touch screen.
Do you have any idea if such a spare part can be found anywhere?
Possibly that would solve also your problem.
Who can have spare-parts?
Mario
Hmm....
Actually, not only the flex cable is originally twisted and looks funny out of the factory, you cannot turn the screen in the same direction more than it should be turned (e.g. from opened clamshell it only goes 180 degrees clockwise and cannot be turned anti-clockwise other than returning into its original position), it is stopped from turning by the way the hinge is designed. It is done specifically to prevent just the thing you described.
Generally even when some wires detach, the cable still performs fine, as the wires are not isolated and bunched together, as long as they do not detach from the connector itself. The fraying can happen when the flex cable is reinserted into the main case too roughly or one time too many, as the opening is fairly small and both cables need to be bent a certain way to fit through and pulled through in a particular sequence. Your problem could be caused by a faulty digitizer, it is connected to an LCD and if LCD performs fine, yet you lost sensitivity, the problem is not with your flex cable.
Cables can be purchased on Ebay. And so can digitizers (they are around $17-$20, but you need soldering to get them fitted to your LCD).
Hi guys!
I searched around for this problem, but couldn't find a good answer. I am using my Desire HD with the Klipsch Image S4 IEMs (great headphones!) and recently I have this very annoying issue.
Most times when I plug the headphones in they get recognized as a headset (with microphone and buttons) and the slightest movement causes the music player to start playing or change or song, or what's even worse, the phone to redial the last call.
At first I thought the headphone jack had gone busted so I tried with my full sized Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO cans, but I get the same issue. When I use the stock headset that came with the HD however, there's no problem.
I think what's happening is that the 3 part plug (as opposed to the 4 part of the stock headset) doesn't always make good contact, or it touches the connector for the 4th part briefly at insertion, and it creates this problem.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is it possible that the plug on the phone is busted? I don't feel like sending the phone in over such small thing, but it is pretty annoying...
Thanks!
I have the same IEMs as you do, and I have not noticed that problem. I had similar issues with my Xperia, cleaning the 3.5 mm female connector helped for a while, but I eventually had to send my phone back to be repaired.

Seen the same thing when using my external speakers, something goes funny with the resistance or capacitance.
Difficult to test unless you sacrifice the cable
Try cover the 3rd and 4th section with nail polish or some other non-conductive stuff.
Ideas? Maybe lookup the schematics of the jack and confirm contact areas, then fix up as needed.

I can easily get a 3 and 4 section jacks and cables on the cheap for testing purposes. Do you have an idea of how to go about testing it in some systematic fashion? I wouldn't mind cutting the cable of the headphones and soldering my own jack at the end of it if I am sure that it will work reliably.

Try measure the lengths accurately from the headset included with the DHD.
There might just be some overlapping. If that is not the case, it might be a bit problematic.

There's no overlapping, but the tip of the S4s is a tiny bit shorter and a bit thinner at the base of the last, topmost, part. Weirdly enough I just cleaned the tip a bit and that seems to have solved the problem for the time being...
Maybe the dirt was leading to some resistance? Do you know how the buttons work?
I am facing a unique problem. After my desire upgrade to Gingerbread and then to runnymede 2.3.5, my phone speakerphone automatically gets ON after any restart. I am not able to use it as normal phone during calls since speaker and mic not available. I found one solution for that, i have to plugin external microphone jack to remove that icon/ speakerphone mode.
Any suggestion why it is happening. Is it software problem of hardware?
It's not unique, your issue may be related to Car Mode. If you have used some 3'rd party chargers, they might have damaged your phone's microUSB plug, shorting some pins and making the phone believe it's sitting in a car craddle. My GF had the exact same problem with her Desire, which i fixed by gently cleaning the phone's USB plug with a soft toothbrush.
Certainly, it can also be a software issue, thus you should try changing ROMs first and see if the problem persists.
Thank you so much "Mr. TVTV" for your early reply. and thanks for your suggestion. It works for me. I seems problem sortout by viping usb port with brush. Tried two reboots and satisfied. Thanks again
Glad i could help!
Hi Guys,
I have 2 One X's, and i'm using the original HTC charger and Nokia AC10-E, both works great.
I've ordered two more AC10-E because i like the look and feel of them.
However, the new chargers make my touch screen on both phone behave odd while charging.
i had this issue on my iPhone (yes, we all had one) with 3rd party charger and i've searched here and saw a lot of complains of this issue (Any phone, Galaxy S3, sensation etc).
I just wonder, why charging effect the touch screen ?
i mean, i'm looking for the technical cause of it, it really curious me
Thanks!

Perfectly normal. Charging connects the phone to the ground and this messes up the capacitive touchscreen. Try holding your phone in your hand while using during charging and this will greatly improve touch accuracy.

I had this "problem" too even with the stock charger which came with my hox, but after latest update I have never noticed it again

Normal ?
why does any other charger doesnt make this ?
Anyway, i've investigated the charger i bought just now.
it weight less (54g instead of original 71g)
the screws are different
the text on the side has different font
the cable locker (white one) is low quality.
Lucky me to have PayPal resolution center.
Yeah, my girlfriend bought a 3rd party charger that did this to every touchscreen phone we plugged into it. My Dell D830 has the same effect when devices are connected to its USB ports and its plugged in. Being a magnesium alloy chassis, you can also feel a slight 'buzz' if you rub your finger along the surface of the laptop while it's plugged in. I got the same thing with my old PowerBook G4s if they were plugged into the 'plug top' adapter (and buzz on the audio line out too), yet if I used the long lead into the power supply (which was earthed) the buzz on the casing and audio output would disappear. I wish manufacturers would use a proper connection rather than a floating ground, that's the issue.
Hi folks,
I've noticed a couple of odd issues with my ultra that I haven't noticed with any previous phone.
1. The charging cable gets noticebly hot when charging, specifically the connector and top third of the cable
2. When connecting my phone to my car for Android auto the phone is picked up for a split second then disconnects, usually have to plug/uplug a few times to get it to work even then sometimes it will randomly disconnect.
I've tried multiple chargers/cables for both issues, none of which changes anything.
Anyone else noticed similar issues?
Nope - I would suggest cleaning the port with a bent open paperclip and some contact cleaner or IPA - sounds like there could be debris, hairs or even something conductive in there.
If all else fails - sound like an RMA. .
