Well there's multiple reviews but each person did there own test. Some put a good amount of application which protects the phone while others put hardly. There's one video that shows that even if the phone gets scratched you can wipe/buff it away.

Did read my post, some people put more application then others, he only put 2 sprays, and he is dealing with a plastic dummy phone instead of a glass.
This LIQUID-ARMOR work only on glass screen... Larry did it on plastic dummy phone, it will not work... It is not a fair comparison....
This stuff is crazy, the manufacture show this at Macworld in SF, it was one of the hot product show there.
i'm very interested in this stuff. i generally don't use screen protectors, they're more of a nuisance to me than anything else. this looks like a decent compromise.
has anyone else used the stuff?
Slade you are 100% correct.. They just need the exposure.. I have it on my phone and my wife's phone. Works amazing.. I seriously don't understand how well it handles..
The reviews on Youtube are not using glass screen like others said..
To be honest all these reviews are useless. No offence. Steel does not scratch glass. If you really want to test it, get some sand! Or sandpaper then see the results....
@nikz LMFAO.. GO take a steak knife to your One X and video it.. Tell me if you feel good doing it.
What a ridiculous response... Until you do that please don't post things that mean nothing.
Let me rephrase that most metals won't scratch glass, everyday metals that we'd commonly have in our pockets.
Things like sand that can get into pockets can scratch screens, so to determine if this product works they should test it with sand. Now if they did then we'd all get a good idea how useful it is.
And I don't eat steak so sorry can't test!

Yes indeed. Gorilla glass is already 7.0+ on the mohs hardness scale and won't be scratched by most metals especially brass that most keys use. High quality hardened steel would probably scratch it though. Ceramics, sand (quartz) also.

While that's true, Gorilla Glass does't have a 100% accurate strength, some phones with GG can survive daily active, while others have suffered with some serious scratches just by keys or coins. So yea its true GG is strong but its not always strong on everybody's phones.
I think this works, so long as you get a good amount of solution. At least from what I've seen on videos. Worst comes worst, the solution hardens and works but scratches but it scratches the solution which buffs off.
Best thing is one time fee and its universal.

This is my first time real life experience with the T989 of what we normally see here (video)
Yesterday my phone dived (screen) face down first to the concrete floor, from shoulder height and bounced 4~5 times before coming to a complete stop,
stupid me taking it out of my front pocket with too much force with 2 fingers and it sling shot out accidentally
when i went to pick it up i was fearing for the worst... i was pretty sure the screen would have probably been a total loss
but the sound when it landed smack face down was a horrible and painful sound to hear
to my amazement it survived with only a few scratches
thanking the almighty gadget angel guardian looking after our phones
Isn't it your phone took a dive before?
Someone up there did look over your phone.
I was going to ask this in a new thread, but this seems like a good place: I've been searching a bit, and can't find conclusive evidence one way or the other: does the TMO version of the SG2 have gorilla glass or not?
And congrats on surviving the fall! That's encouraging either way! No screen protector?

the previous dive was into a puddle of water, and it was only from knee height, the water itself would have acted as a cushion, that time i was more concerned about it getting wet & short circuited than cracking the screen.

it did have a cheezy $2 ebay screen protector, those only protect from scratches not from a drop of that magnitude
as i do recall Galaxy 1 and Galaxy 2 line of phones uses Corning Gorilla glass
only the Nexus line does not use that
some one had the article listed a while back, don't recall the tittle but i'm sure you can find it if you dig long enough in the forum, or just google SGS2 + Gorilla glass
So you tested water and concrete, what next? Fire? lol

I didnt have a screen protector for first week, and it got scratched a lil -.- i had it in my pocket alone with nothing with it!
Gorilla glass might be resilient
but they are not really anti scratch
they are just harder to crack, but by no means invincible
even if you applied the Zagg indestructible screen protector
it will prevent the screen from shattering to pieces, but it will still crack if the hit is hard enough
Thanks - the reason I ask is because while the SG2 int'l version and att/sprint versions have Gorilla Glass, there was a lot of confusion as to whether the TMO version does as well. I found some discussion on it, but no conclusive answer. And TMO doesn't say it on the site (I don't think) and it doesn't say it in the paperwork with the phone...but I believe you

from what i understand they replace the smaller sodium ions with potassium in glass, what this does is that the potassium takes up more space and it produces a compressive stress on the glass, so there are less "imperfections" and therefore making it more scratch resistant/harder to crack
what's amazing to me is that peopel are saying their iphone is made of gorilla glass..yet their smaller form factor phone cracks a lot more easily than ours(and aluminium has nothing to do with this, aluminium is fairly soft itself..

Ditto. I was gonna leave my phone naked but the fear of this happening to mine made me get over of the d3o cases. I'm still debating on whether or not I should get a screen protector. Yes it has gorilla glass! Info found here:

Killing Zombies With My Samsung Galaxy S2
As the title suggests. I know it has reinforced gorilla glass but I will still be wary of picking up scratches even though I'm sure the phone can handle most things thrown at it. I am just not comfortable with spending so much cash without putting a screen cover on for that extra peace of mind.
I was not aware of how strong gorilla glass is until I saw someone jabbing their galaxy s2 screen with stanley knife on youtube recently.
I also have a gel case for my SG2 and I have never dropped it in the year that I've had it but I just feel that when buying something at first, you need to take that bit of 'extra' care of it - does anyone else feel this way?
case definitely, screen protector never
I always order an cheap ass TPU case from ebay. That works good.
Looking at some clips on Youtube, then no, i don't think i'll bother with a screen protector, but yes for me for a case, not dropped my Desire in the 20+ months i've had it, but you never know.

This one makes me think i won't bother with protector........turn the volume down though.
Just a leather pouch, no screen protector. Don't really like cases, they make the phone HUGE (and it's already big.. ).
Definitely, I like to keep my phones as clean/new looking as possible.
I'll get a leather slip pouch as I have with my desire s and iPhone 3g before it. The HTC ones are really nice quality.
I'm unsure about screen protector, I have one on my desire s but never drop it and gorilla glass looks very resistant

Yes to both! I've had my SGS2 for nearly a year in May, I've not dropped it heavily but last week I was caseless and big drop from my hands and got two nasty dents on the bezel and scratches on the back plastic! Will learn my lesson and never take it out caseless again! I was horrified when I saw them
The white version will only show dents more than the grey/black version!
I'm incredibly obsessive about protecting anything I spend more than £100 on.
So, yeah.. Soft case and screen protector for me.
I'm going for a nice pouch, I don't like the added weight and seize of a case.

I hate cases. I don't think I've ever had one on any phone I've owned. Screen protectors however, for me, are a must.
Started as a kickstarter for an ultra durable screen protector. I can't even tell it's there, but it is thicker than the average protector - I can feel it on the edges.
Everyone keeps telling me to put it to the test, see if it really lives up to the demo videos on the site. I'm not sure I want to risk actually breaking my One in any way... Sorry. Maybe next time my brother asks, I'll tell him he can test it for me if he pays for any repairs needed
http://www.evolutivelabs.com/rhinoshield/
The screen protector feels as smooth as the glass under it, doesn't hamper the capacitive buttons on the bottom (yes, it covers them and yes I have the update that made them more sensitive), and the protector went on very easy. Bubbles were no problem to squeeze out, I don't even have any micro bubbles lingering anywhere.
Also, early adopters seem to be eligible for an improved version free in July - not sure if this only applies to kickstarter backers or not.

I was also looking up these protectors.
Two things worry me though:
Its only what.. 4H hardness? Not nearly as hard as GG. Let me (well, us) know if yours gets scratched up soon...
They've had issues with "denting" and "peeling." A mk. 2 version is in the works and all owners of mk. 1 will get a free replacement (I have this in writing from them via Kickstarter).
So I might either buy it soon or wait for mk. 2 to be released to avoid the trouble.
They make them look really tough in their demos. I didn't realize it was a 4H hardness, but I also don't know what gorilla glass is rated at to compare with. And yes, I did get a letter saying I'm getting the mk2 version too.
I'll share my experiences with it. 2 days and not a mark on it so far. I keep forgetting it's even on there until I feel the edges.

It is very tough from what I understand. From an impact point of view anyway.
But its 4H compared to GG which is reported to be around 7H. SGP's Glas.t and Glas.tr are 8H (but not impact-resistant).
Glad to hear you have no scratches so far. Supposedly oleophobic coatings also help prevent scratches (at least it does according to Corning's demonstrations of coated vs uncoated gorilla glass) So hopefully that will help as well.
Looking forward to your future impressions, may or may not buy this soon. To-date, I've never dropped and cracked a screen (except the one time I got pissed and threw my phone at the wall...). Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself lol.
Well... 4 days with my Rhino Shield and I'm starting to see what looks like a layer of material rippling slightly. It's near one edge that I think messed up putting it on (it's not sticking too well, I accidentally slid a rough edge there under the adhesive). It's only noticeable in harsh glare though, still prefer this to micro bubbles I've had in other protectors.
Still no scratches or other imperfections - the ones showing up are likely my own fault.

I'm in the market for a new screen protector. I'm stuck between a cheapo off amazon, a glas.tr and this. This seemed to be the best option until I read this:
Scratch Proof
Special coating technology provides strong hardness of up to 3H thereby preventing direct scratch damage to your screen.

Gorilla glass is way harder than that, and glas.tr is way way harder than that. I am gonna use a TPU case, so impact resistance isn't as important to me as feel and scratch resistance. As others have said, I'd like to hear how this fares over time.
How to buy
When Im promoted to buy the rhino shield.I must sign to pay some company that represents rhino for a contract of a year ?
What is that?

Easy to break? It fairs pretty well in side drops, no? Any glass will break if it directly hits the ground; raised lips helps to prevent this scenario.
A simple TPU case with raised lips should do the job.
Alternatively you can grab some skins to cover the phone to prevent dents, and use glass or anti-shatter screen protectors.

I beg to differ. I dropped my S2 with no cover or screen protector so many times on it's face, sides, back and all 4 corners. It fell so bad that the corners actually warped over the glass and are all indented.

I'm not sure whether it's the bigger screens or that the newer gorilla glass generations are weaker, but screens are definitely more breakable these days.
In the three years I've had it I've beaten the **** out of my Sensation, but the screen is still flawless.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate at the moment and have dropped it numerous times on its front, side and back... Aside from some scuffs on the case, there's really nothing else wrong with it.
..Which leads me to believe that older android phones probably don't actually use glass as their screens. I think my Cappy's screen is probably plastic. It definitely can't be glass, considering how many times I've dropped it.
Oh no it's definitely glass - trust me on that one
I fumbled it mid air and inadvertently threw it to the ground (carpet) and it popped out a nice glass shard.
It's the raised edges that save it. I dropped it so many times too, but the slightly raised edges take all the force. I'm totally getting a case - just ordered a cheapy on eBay to hold out until I get something that shows off the phone better
i just started a thread for the case i'm gonna get for my n5. if you're paranoid about drops, this is the case for you.

so tough to watch....does anyone know what happens to the phone after he tests them? obviously something like that is just going to get returned or sold. and it would be a shame if he just wasted a N5 on a test like that..
My n5 I've already dropped 3 times from at least 4 foot. First one in the bathroom landed screen down on the tiles. I [email protected] myself. Not a mark
Second time in the kitchen again to tiles landed but I tried to catch with my foot and ended up kicking it on the bounce into the cupboard about 1.5meters away from where I was. Still no scratch
And third time in the garage I was using it as a torch dropped it straight to concrete didn't see what side it landed but haven't got a single scratch on it!
I'm shocked as hell
My ultra hybrid case really needs to be delivered asap the way im going.

I've had my phone for 3 months and so far I've babied it taking great care to keep it in excellent condition. I use a thick dual layer case rubber/hard-shell to keep any dings, scratches or drops to a minimum though I have never dropped it once, I only clean it with my lens cleaning cloth with water or lens cleaning spray with light pressure.
The only reason I am even talking about this at all is I am a little bit pissed off that the screen is littered with fine scratches everywhere.
I thought gorilla glass 4 would have been enough for a light user like myself I barely text, make any phone calls, use apps or the internet and clean it once every few days to a week, I did how ever buy a temped glass screen protector but it did not work out basically one corner was not sticking so I had to send it back sadly.
I'd like to take pictures but I don't have another camera other than my phone and they are so fine that you can only see them with your eyes.
Has anyone else had scratches like this? I'd like to hear that I am not the only one out there.

I see what you're saying but it needn't be.. The cost of devices these days should include protection from these things.. Gorilla glass 4.. Bulls**t.

Cars cost a lot also and they scratch and dent. You sound like you want a bulletproof phone aye
My car is 13 years old and not a single dent. Scratches yes, but caused by stones on the road not fluff in my pocket. I didn't have to wrap my car in a case or add glass for glass protection.. Bad analogy.
To be honest my phone cost more than the car too.
I don't want a bullet proof phone but one that can handle everyday wear and tear would be nice.

I upgraded from an s3 to this m9 and i can safely say the s3 was far more resilient.

Doesn't seem like anyone else has this. Gorilla glass is scratch resistant, not scratch proof, but it is highly unlikely lint will scratch your screen like that. I've had my M9 for over five months and always carry it in my pocket. I only have a few very light scratches, barley visible, and I'm pretty sure they didn't happen in my pocket. I go saltwater fishing all the time, so I'm surprised my screen is not much worse.
1st world problems..

The OEM of your phone is irrelevant, since no phone OEM makes the glass on your screen. Pretty much all flagship phones nowadays use the same glass.
If your screen is scratched, it's because of how you're using it and what it's being exposed to. It's not like the screen is magically picking up scratches. You're using it around sand/dust/something else that is harder than the screen material.
I heard there are self-healing screen protectors out there but I am not sure if they are legit... Any tried? I have been using Jedi Shield tempered glass, never have scratch on it, cheaper than Zagg and works well for me.
