I am normally not the type to write a review of a product just simply because I'm not usually impressed by a product. Upon purchasing this phone I looked at it as an investment a year down the line something new come out and I want to protect this in order to get the best resale value of the phone. I hate using a screen protector I always have felt that no matter what I used it took away from the color and clarity of my screen and also ended up getting a lot of a fine scratches on it that I never really noticed on the gorilla glass.
Installation for this product literally only took me about five minutes and I am no expert when it comes to installing screen protectors. Though the screen protector does not have any healing abilities due to its surface like other screen protectors of finish on it is absolutely smooth as silk which is what I was looking for since I use Swype to text. The other ones with the healing ability the surface is just too sticky to use swipe texting in an efficient manner.
The product is a little bit pricey I picked it up at a local Best Buy store for about $27 with tax but it is well worth it to a protect my investment that I plan on selling in the future.
It comes with a lifetime warranty so I do not even have to worry about damaging the screen protector as I will be able to get a new one in replacement of this for the longevity of the phone. I'm not a rich person by any means and $27 for a thin piece of film for my phone is a lot to me but I have to say it's definitely worth it.
Pros – silky smooth finish that easily wipes off any smudges that may occur. Very tough military grade scaring protector used helicopter blades. Amazing see-through clarity zero opaqueness. Very easy application takes literally minutes.
Cons – price is a little bit high probably could've got a cheaper online but I did not want to wait. Removing the extra water and bubbles seems almost impossible to get every single square inch of it out I'm hoping they will evaporate in a few days.
I hope you all enjoyed my first review of a product.
Good review. I have the HD on my phone as well. I was a bit worried at first, as there seemed to be some "orange peel" effect after installing. After a couple days, I'd say 90% is gone. Fortunately, I got mine for free using a BB gift card. If I had to choose one to purchase, I'd probably just go with the SGP Ultra Nano Clear. Cheaper, much larger install base, and easier to lay on - plus, I wouldn't be fuelling Best Buy.

I bought 4 and I've used Invisishield on other phones. I do recommend it to a lot of people. While the HD is clearer than the regular, it can eventually become riddled with dents and scratches. Thankfully, as you said, there is a lifetime warranty on the screen protectors so send it back for a new one. Just pay the shipping and handling.

The lifetime warranty is a plus. I've also found that scratches / dents on the screen will repair itself in about an hour or so. Kinda spooky.
I don't have the HD version, just the regular zagg invisibleshield, but I'm really disappointed with it. They actually put a zagg logo on the damn thing, which is ironic considering "invisible" is in the product name. It's really quite noticeable on the white s3, pretty big bummer, in addition to the terrible feel and poor cutout quality. I will never buy another zagg product.
It's funny, I I asked the guy working at a zagg kiosk about the branding, and noticed his iphone did not have it. He said it was because of the size of the screen. Then blamed the logo on the fact that some company called body armor or something also started offering phone skins. So if another company offers a similar product you differentiate by making yours worse?
Does the HD version still have the zagg logo in the bottom right?
I seem to remember reading the HD version does not repair itself well or at all? The thread (which I can not find) even quote's a Zagg CSR explaining that the HD is thinner than the original, and because of that it doesn't have the same healing advantages... DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER, I'M SIMPLY REPEATING WHAT I READ HERE. And it was because of that thread when I bought MINE, I bought the original NON-HD version, because I was familiar with it and KNEW it repairs itself. I can live with the slight orange peel knowing that if I put the phone in my pocket with my keys, my phone case + screen will be protected. :good:
I keep going back and forth on buying one of these, the HD version. Your review may push me to try it. I had the original on a previous phone and I didn't like the orange peel and the sticky feeling. Thanks for the review.
I had a similar Zagg branding on my old HTC vivid. Turned out that Zagg logo scratched right off. Almost like scratching off a lottery ticket. Might give your Zagg logo a gentle scratching - bet it comes off.

I have the HD installed presently. I like it. It's a good protector. ...until I think about how much I paid for it. It is a couple bucks less than the XGearlive tempered glass protector that is coming out later this month.
Friend works at Future Shop, got it for $7 and did professional installation ( or experienced ), and yes its silky smooth
I generally dislike screen protectors and have posted many times how they aren't necessary. That being said, I had a Zagg HD installed at a local Best Buy Mobile just to see if I'd like it. It's been on several weeks now but every day I contemplate ripping it off because of the dents and orange peel effects along with some tiny debris that collects along the edges sometimes but I've held back so far. I don't think it'll last much more than a few weeks though........ I miss my perfect and bare screen but I don't miss my paranoid expectation that a screen scratch is inevitable.

Yeah, mine is starting to get lint dingleberries every time I pull it out of my pocket. Oddly, the one on my Thunderbolt is still going strong, although it wrinklier than an elderly elephant's nutsack. I think I'm gonna pull it off my S3 and use a Nano Ultra Clear that came with my SPG case.

Does anyone use a case with their InvisiShield HD? I have the Body Glove case, which I really like... but the lip around the front of the screen is so tight, it pushes the edges of the InvisiShield up off the screen. Luckily I was able to push the shield back down with apparently no damage, but now I can't use my case. I still have time to return it, but now I'm wondering what case is compatible with the screen protector?

This screen protector is beautiful. And the good thing about zagg is every 3 months or so they have a 50% off sale. However you could cause a rip in yours send it back to zagg and they will replace it no questions asked..

This phone apparently has the most fragile screen of any phone I've ever used, and I've already gotten two deep scratches on it just from being in my pocket alone. I'm usually a huge fan of keeping the phone naked, but this is unacceptable. I'm willing to spend at least $20-$30 for a very good screen protector that will stay in place. What's the consensus?

That question will get you tons of differing opinions. Here's mine, lol.
The Skinomi is really good. I've had them on tons of phones throughout the years and I think they've gotten better. Never had them discolor. My first ones had some orange peel but the one I just installed on my S3 is REALLY nice. No peel. I'm very pleased.
Best part is it's $3 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0084F4HY8/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
For 3 bucks, you can't go wrong in trying. If you dont like get the more pricey options. Doubt you will.

It's almost as if Samsung used a subpar glass on some models. My wife ended up with a good scratch on her screen after a few days, and we have no clue where it came from, she had been super careful with it and never had anything else in the pocket with it. I am currently using a Zagg HD screen protector (honestly cannot tell any difference compared to their old protectors). I have considered trying out one of the glass protectors as I love the feel of the naked screen, the Zagg has the typical silicone screen protector feel to it, but I deal with it because I want my screen protected.
well the only scatch i have its a dot on my home key.
and plastic border,
so unless u put ur pants with a bunch of pointy nails , or sand. it shouldnt scratch that easily
I too have a zagg hd on now and do not like it. Seems to peel up on the sides a few times a week. So are the glass ones good to go? I had read some reviews......I believe it was droid-life that said that there were dots or grids in the finished product?

I bought a Skinomi when Amazon had it on sale for $0.99, and I can't recommend it.
CONS:
1) It's an annoying wet-application that takes a few days to dry, and for all major bubbles & imperfections to go away
2) Even after it dries, a few splotchy imperfections & minor orange peel will remain, but it's not visible with the screen on.
3) It feels RUBBERY. Compared to SGP's smooth ultra crystal, skinomi is just tacky as hell.
4) It peels up at the edges over time, especially with TPU cases, but not so much with hybrid cases.
5) Fairly thick: the home button is flush
PROS:
1) It's cheap-ish
2) It's nearly full-coverage
I guess the thing I hated most about it was the tacky friction feeling as I swiped my fingers, but after it built up a layer of grease, it got better (and after you cleaned it with microfiber, went back to tacky-as-hell). Just wasn't smooth-as-glass enough for my tastes, compared to SGP.
I'm currently using the new-version SGP Ultra Crystal... and my single gripe with it is that I know it's not supposed to be full-coverage, but, it could've been made a little wider. As-is, it's almost exactly as wide as the black part of the display, so you feel the edge sometimes.

Careful, a lot of people are having sensitivity problems.
Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've done video. Just been so busy with life. Anyways, I decided to pick up a new HTC One @ AT&T yesterday.
Gorilla Glass
I'm coming from a Verizon Note 2. With that phone I made the decision to not use a screen protector. This was for a couple of reasons. I had already done an install video with a Note 2 before, and there are always comments like "This thing has Gorilla Glass. Why are you installing a pointless screen protector?" Well like I always said. Swords and knives used on these phones for Youtube video prove to not do much damage, but try some change in your pocket or a set of keys. To say the least, the Note 2 has a couple of fine scratches.
Pay Attention
It looks like ZAGG might have slightly changed this screen protector (at least the way it is delivered to the consumer). They put a screen protector for the protector above it. The only thing is that when I pulled it off (which you will see in the video), it did not come off. There is a piece of plastic on the upper portion that is meant to make the InvisibleSHIELD not adhere to the sticky portion. Well it did more than that. It didn't even bring the screen protector off the backing plastic. So back to the old way of spraying my fingers down and grabbing the protector. Spray it too to keep oil off of it. Now that you know the cover has a tendency of not pulling the protector off the backing, you can be a little bit more careful and make sure it does for you.
Purchasing an InvisibleSHIELD
I purchased this locally for around $25 bucks at Bestbuy. It's always more expensive there because of retail packaging.
@ ZAGG they have the full shield for as much as I paid for the front only. The one I used was an HD version. I do believe there might be less of a rainbow/orange peel effect.
ZAGG link (they only show the original version)

Last Notes
If I find this product to be annoying or problematic in general, I'll update this post.
The audio sucks because the GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition has some firmware issues still. Found out there is another update that I have to apply. Anyways I hope this helps someone. In general, you can get more money for your phone if you take care of it.

You're basically using the squeegee to get all the water out. Check it from different viewing angles and move as much as possible. ZAGG says some of the really small spots can dry up after a little bit.
If you get dust under the shield during installation, it is really hard to remove. I have only tried with an ultra sharp knife and a lot of spray. You can easily ruin the clarity of the invisbleSHIELD by moving the adhesive around.
I always appreciated the HD because of its clarity, which I found later on that Ghost Armor rivals without the major problem of HD thinness. If I take a nail and draw across the screen protector it's going to stay there for a long, long time. Within a few weeks of using it I noticed that my screen has become a mess of indents that wouldn't recover. Ghost Armor is expensive too, but it doesn't have that problem and is just as clear.
Although, when I visited the Ghost Armor booth they didn't have the One in stock. They did a nice custom cut for me though, which I will get rid of asap when they have the official one.

I think I saw these guys at CTIA last year. Never installed any of their stuff. Thanks for giving a little insight. Might have to take another look.
If I have the opportunity to go again, I'm going to do things a lot differently.
Guys, is it possible to uninstall these screen protectors if I wanted to? I never used these fancy expensive protectors.
ZAGG shouldn't really leave any residue.
They have a warranty too so if you're taking it off due to the fact that you are not satisfied, you can probably get credit towards a different version, or just a new one in the case that it got damaged.

I got mine yesterday, I went for the full body.
The back looks really good, the aluminum looks great, but the front is seriously ****ty.
It doesn't actually fit the screen (it's too small by 1mm on each sides, and something like 1.5mm on top and bottom), and even though the box it came in wasn't damaged, it has what looks like a fold line 1/3 down from the top.
I am _really_ disappointed...
Before I got the Zagg one I got a Spigen but I completely botched the install. Even then it looked MUCH better than the Zagg. I think I'll get another one (or wait until they release a fixed tempered glass protection)
This one is spot on height wise. There is a little left on either side. The viewing area of the screen doesn't extend to the very end. This is either good or bad depending on how you look at it (no pun intended).
Certain cases can cause the screen protector to lift up if it pushes on the screen area on the sides.
I did mention that sometimes these guys take a pre-production model or just a best guess and start pushing products out to the public. The ZAGG for our HTC One X was seriously short.
I got one, but only because I went to three different stores and these were the only HTC One screen protectors available. I normally remember how much I vehemently disliked my Invisible Shield for my Evo 4G, but this isn't so bad this time, I guess.
Only drawback is I need to leave my Otterbox off it for a day or two. I just like to have that feeling of protection on my phone so I'm much less likely to ever drop it in the first place.
I'm leaving it on for now because I don't want to risk scratches, but in addition to the poor quality of the cut, I really hate the orange peel look of the thing.
I'm definitely getting another spigen.

Wet application Screen protectors are the worst thing ever to be created by humanity. Ugly, obvious and ruin the look of a screen more than any scratch ever could.

Ive have used and installed many MANY Zagg shields in my past...my question is this. Alot of people seem to be having issues with the back and home button responsivness and alot of the replies to those posts are the result of having screen protectors installed. Does this one interfere with the proper use of those buttons, as some others have? The most common solution is to either cut off a portion so those keys are not covered or just remove the protector all together.
Sometimes I wonder if it's the screen protector or something else. At times it just appears to lag.
With those two keys having what? 4 functions... It does get annoying.

did you have any issues personally that you noticed yet with the full screen install? Currently I have NOTHING on mine as I got it yesterday but I Zagg up every device I own..and pending your reply I might get one today..HD of course!
Well those buttons are kind of annoying.
I guess I didn't play with the device enough before to see if it was the protector's fault.
Due to my Note 2 getting scratches merely because I had a few pieces of change in the same pocket or slipped it in with the keys for a second there is no way I'd go without this.
If I had to install it again, I'd try using scissors to cut off the bottom before I applied it. That might help.

I recently won a bid on ebay for a note II so naturally i want to protect it the best i can. I am the type of person who can be a bit hard on phones. I drop them, sometimes things can fall on them and so on so i need good protection. I pretty much have an otterbox on everything i own so i figured i would order one for my note II. Im wondering if i made a mistake because the reviews im reading arent very good. Can anyone comment about the case on the note II? Most things im reading is the outside stretches quickly and the plastic screen protector really diminishes the quality of the screen. If this is a bad case, can someone recommend the best solution for protecting the phone AND the screen, even if its two seperate parts.
I have the otterbox for note 2. Hasn't stretched at all. It's a chore to get it off really.
My wife's gs3 otterbox has stretched. But this one is much better.
It's great for falls, but it's not sealed as much as the evo otterbox. Not sure this case would save the note 2 from a fall in the dog water bowl like evo did.

Not trying to pick on you. But statements like this make me shake my head. Big deal the case scratches. It's better the case than the phone, right? Not that I'm ignorant, and know you don't want some case that's going to look like a cat scratching toy after a month. From what I read, usually the shinny slick cases tend to show more scratches.
As for the screen, I don't think you'll notice much if any deminished screen output from the screen protector if you've been using the Otterbox Defender on previous phones. I don't think it's that likely the screen protector is that much different from other Defenders for other phones.
My guess, I think you're psyching yourself out.
When I had my otterbox, I removed the built in "screen protector" and had a zagg on it. I dont like the built in one as sand and small particles can get inbetween screen and the "protector" and when you use it. Your mashing thos into the screen. I would advise you to remove the screen protector and install your own directly onto the phone. Other than that great case.

Well, as lovely of compliment that is, either I don't know know the difference between stretch and scratch, or I wasn't paying close enough attention. Given what I wrote, the safer bet is the later. Thus, my most of drabble was not on point. But I digress....
Back to the topic at hand, As for screen protectors, I suggest checking out this thread, Screen Protector Reviews in the international GN2 subforum. It's 28 pages of this morning. I stopped reading it about a month or so ago. There was another thread, even longer, but it got removed.
Personally, I use the Just Like Glass screen protector. It's a wet application. Covers all viewable screen, but doesn't go to the edge. So cases that go over the edge won't push on it, like TPU cases with lips don't play nice with screen protectors that do go the edge. I'm not sure how the defender sits on the phone off the top of my head, so not sure if the JLG would work well or not. Since you're so rough on phones, it may be. JLG uses similar tech to hurricane glass, and claim it adds 35% shatter resistance; their numbers, not mine. It's stiff, really thin, and it feels very similar to the actual glass. I like it.
It's not perfect. It will get small scratches. I have a couple, but I rarely notice them. There is a rainbow effect that can be seen under halogen lights and the screen off. When the screen is on, you don't see it, at least I never have. It's a side effect from the UV protection the protector has. Some complain that screen protector scratches easily. I don't know how easily, but I have a few, but I don't see them when the display is on. I'm not sure if they came with one or not, but I know JLG owner was looking into getting a dry application model. Plus, unless something has changed, JLG goes give good customer service. Shoot an email to the ower, some guy named Scott, and he'll work with you as much as possible. He knows screen protector isn't for everyone.
It also works very well with the Spen. Others have had issues, from what I read, with Zagg Invisishield. The Spen sticks, unresponsive, to actaully scratching the screen protector. Some have said the Zagg's HD works well. But from what I gathered, for the Spen to work well, you'll want to get the thinner protects, which end up being less scratch resistant.
Here a picture of my GN2 shortly after I put it on:
if you click the picture, you can see a really big picture. But you can see how much of the GN2 it covers. I use a Cruzerlite TPU clear case. I'm still using the same screen protector and case, which has been close to six months.
For me, as long as the flaws are noticeable when the screen is on, it doesn't bother me. It's currently being sold for $13.50, so it's one of the more reasonable priced protectors. It only comes packaged with one protector.
Hopefully that helps.

I appreciate the reply. After doing a ton of searching, I found just about everyone who bought a SGP Ultra Oleophobic seemed to love it so I'm gonna try that. I wanted to get the just like glass but the wet application sort of scared me away. I'll report my findings when I get it and the phone.

I really like zagg. They give you lifetime warranty so if protector begins to peel you can get another for free.

Not really free. You have to return the original and pay for shipping. Now Otterbox's warranty is second to none. Just send it pics of damage and they will send you out a replacement completely free of charge. Now when I bought the first black Defender I had a pretty nice gap between the built in screen protector and the phone's screen. It really was annoying especially playing games or texting. I ended up giving that one to my wife and buying the grey/white one off Amazon for $35. This one has no gap and fits like its supposed to. It's been a few months and I've had no problem with dust in screen or silicone stretching. This one seems to be built correctly. Not so much for the Defender for my EvoLTE. Been a year and I'm on my 5th one.

Otterbox Warranty: they didn't even request a picture when my evo case broke. Just took down the info and sent me a new one and told me to discard the old one.
I was amazed. Shows how much they stand behind their product.

I popped out the screen protector part as dust kept getting in the stupid hole they cut in it. My phone stays in my pocket with nothing else so no scratches on the screen. If I'm going to throw my phone in my wife's bag when traveling or something like that I bring the clip to protect it. Worked for me so far..
I'm a contractor and I've put my otter box through hell, I remove it every night and have for six months and it hasn't stretched a bit. My phone is still cherry because of this case, I've dropped it 10 feet gotten concrete on it and it's coated in crap every day. Once you get used to all the iPhone kids making fun of the size it's awesome!

Hi guys,
I just installed the Spigen GLAStR Nano Slim Tempered Glass Protector. I bought it off Amazon and it came pretty quick despite the holidays. I've attached pictures of the glass on my Nexus 5. Sorry I didn't get pictures of the installation process. I didn't want to risk getting dust underneath, so I had to do it quick.
I used the "Hinge Method" to put the screen on. And as you can see I got slight bubbles at the bottom (circled in red), so the installation wasn't perfect. I also have 1 tiny micro bubble in the middle...it's hardly noticeable even with the screen off/on and is probably less than .5mm in diameter. I would still suggest using this method for any screen protector installation.
After about 30 minutes, I used a micofiber cloth-covered squeegee to push out those bubbles that were circled...and they're gone! I just have that tiny ass one in the middle.
Overall it feels great, and its definitely smooth with the oleophobic coating...I haven't put my Cruzerlite case on yet, gonna give it some time for the glass' adhesive to settle in. I will comment on that soon!
Any questions? Feel free to hit me up!
Best,
K

Tempered Glass w/ Cruzerlite Case On
Hi all,
Just an update here. I let the glass sit overnight and all the bubbles were gone..even that micro bubble in the middle of the screen. This morning, I slapped on my Cruzerlite TPU case, to see if there was any peeling of the glass, or any fit issues.
Initially, it seemed everything was fine. However, after I got to work, I noticed that in the left bottom corner, the case began to push the glass up a little, especially if I pushed on that edge. As such, I decided to remove the case to prevent any more issues.
Spigen's GLAStR screen protector seems like a good one, but I think if they increased the edges 1mm in each direction, the Cruzerlite case would sit on top and sort of seal the glass rather than hit edge-to-edge like in this case, causing the glass to begin peeling. I've attached pictures to show what it looks like with the case on.
Let me know if you have any questions!
K
Thanks for the review. I got one as a replacement from the previous defective ones.
As I have not applied mine yet, can you describe what is the "Hinge" method?
Cheers

Sure. The Hinge method is where you take the screen protector and tape it to the phone BEFORE you peel the protective film away.
1) Align the screen protector to exactly where you want it
2) Tape one side of the protector so that you can swing it open like a door (tape in two places..I put a piece near the power button and one a little further down
3) Open up the "door" that you just made and clean your naked screen so there is no lint, dust, hair etc.
5) Make sure the protector aligns just as you want it
4) Then peel the "backside" of the film off so that the adhesive side is exposed and "close the door" so the protector is on the phone
5) Immediately take a squeege and cover it in a micofiber cloth and push out any bubbles you may have
6) Peel away the front of the screen protector
7) Using the squeegee that's inside the cloth (VERY IMPORTANT so you don't scratch the glass), push out any remaining bubbles
8) DONE! ENJOY!

Nice review and a +1 for the hinge method. Only way to install a 'dry' screen protector for me!
Just received mine today. Install went great except I noticed an air bubble on the left side about halfway down, right on the edge. Well, when I took a closer look, it was actually a chip in the glass.
Contacted Spigen Support and I am waiting for a response. Hopefully they can help me out.

That sucks! I hope they are responsive. Did you go with the hinge method as well during installation? I noticed that my glass is slightly off to the right.. Didn't get it perfect.. Oh well.

I didn't go for the hinge method. But I have used it in the past and it works pretty well.
The chip is pretty small so its not interfering with anything on the screen, as long as it doesn't get worse.
Spigen sent me an email back with a case number and said I should be contacted within 1-3 business days. Hoping for the best!

Saved my phone!
Im not 100% sure HOW it saved my phone, but im sold on them and will be buying a replacement!
my son likes to hide my phone, last night he hid my phone under my recliner (which hits the floor when rocking) and as i was rocking away i heard CRACK / CRUNCH....looked under the chair to find my phone with two very prominent pressure cracks on the screen...
i thought NO WAY was this ONLY the Nano.TR....as i pulled up the corners, the glasses started breaking and falling apart, but low and behold, not a single scratch or dent on my phones screen!
Completely blown away that my phone's screen didn't crack under the pressure.....sold on them forever!

So because of the chip in the edge of the protector it ended up just cracking across the screen.
I can't feel the crack but you can see it.
No email back from Spigen yet. Buy I did update them on the hairline crack across.
Still hoping for the best.

It's the first time I try a glass screen protector, this one is very wonderful. There is only a micro-chip somewhere, but I can't see it in normal conditions, I have to examine my screen closely for like one minute to spot it.
Putting it on the screen was very easy, much easier than plastic screen protectors.
It fits nicely with official Google bumper case.
Without a case?
Hey guys, I personally want to buy this Spigen protector (.tr version) because I hate cases on my mobile phone. I'm not going to waste €36 (yes, its the Netherlands) if I also have to apply a case on it. So is this screenprotector drop-proof? If I drop this phone from 1 meter from the surface, would it be able to save the ORIGINAL glass?
Thanks,
Viresh

They recommend a case with this product because they say the protector would crack easily without any case over time.

What do you mean by "over time", considering my usage, I have only dropped my old phone (SGS+) once in the two years of intensive usage. As SGS+ is a smart strong boy, it doesn't break, not even a scratch. Would the Glas.tR, 0.4 mm, survive a 1 meter downfall? Thanks in advance yo

Well, sorry but I have no idea. It's only written that they strongly recommend using a case along with the glass.

It depends on how it falls obviously, but I'd say chances are pretty good that the glass screen protector would be cracked or chipped after a fall, especially onto a hard surface like concrete. I have the GLAS.t on my N5 and like you I prefer no case and am very careful with my phone. But even just casual daily use, the screen protector has chipped, and it's been the case with several others too (spanning a variety of different brands as well).
So I would proceed with caution and really consider if it's worth sinking the money into. That being said, if the screen protector chips or cracks after a fall, it's taking damage that would otherwise be applied to your phone, which is its purpose to begin with.

There's no reason to expect any screen protector would save a phone from a drop. Screen protectors are meant for preventing the glass from being scratched. If the drop is sufficient to damage the screen, I strongly feel it would damage the screen through a 0.4mm sheet of glass overlaying your screen.
Cases, however, are what you use to protect phones from drops.
