!!!(Q) Help bricked kindle fire 6.3

okay so i was trying to root my kindle fire and i didnt get su any where so then i tryed to install cwm and now its stuck at the yellow triangle and it wont go into recovery and it also will not connect to adb i need hellp ASAP

Install drivers as ADB composite with the Android SDK and then use this to change the bootmode

Your kindle will "get stuck" on the kindle fire screen, but really it's just in fastboot mode.
fastboot -i 0x1949 boot twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img
Your device will now boot into twrp recovery, and flash the firefirefire bootlaoder. When done it will prompt you to reboot. Upon reboot you will get stuck on the "yellow triangle" screen of firefire fire.

My kindle got the 6.3 update -solved!!
This has got to be one of the fastest ways I have rooted 6.3 kindle update
i went on line here http://liliputing.com/2012/03/root-...ogle-play-store-with-kindle-fire-utility.html
downloaded the new kindle fire utility and ckick on Install permanent root with super user. got rooted in about 2 minutes with no trouble at all

thanks everyone for your help but i solved it what i was doing was unsing the kindle fire utility trying to instal latest firefirefire but it just sat there and so i just went into the utility and reinstaled the twrp and it booted normal!!

Bricked Kindle
Okay, I'm not having the same issue, but I'm pretty sure I've completely, irevicalbly, bricked my kindle.
I know that I'm not in Fastboot mode, I've experienced that issue and solved it with the KFU.
Here's what I did:
I used the KFU to root my kindle. That worked fine. I was able to load all the Google apps (which was my initial goal). Then, I got greedy and decided that ICS was my next step - oops.
I followed the instructions on the following site:

Note: I know, I'm an idiot - I should have paid attention to comments! UGH!
After I did this, I now only get the firefirefire logo and that is it. I can't load/reload TWRP and I can't change my bootmode to normal or recovery. The thing is, no matter which computer I plug the device into, the computer won't recognize the device. I get a message saying something "malfunctioned" when I plug it in. I've tried 3 different Windows machines (I've installed/reinstalled drivers I don't know how many times!) and I even tried loading Linux on a spare laptop and that didn't work either.
So, I tried the next thing I could think of. I followed the instructions on the following site:

which involved removing the back cover, shorting a circuit (to force usbboot) and plugging my Kindle in. This didn't work for me either.
At this point, I'm willing to try anything. I'm not quite sure how to fix this issue. I think my next step is to either order a factory cable or make my own and try that, but if my bootloader is broke (truely broke) will that even work?
Please, if I should post this in another forum/place, just let me know. Any help appreciated!

I should also not that nothing comes up in my device manager. It does come up as a unrecognized USB bit goes away after telling me there was a malfunction.

If you get the yellow triangle logo to come up, then it's probably in fastboot mode. If you reboot it while it's connected to your computer and you get some device detection beeps from Windows, it's likely to be a driver issue. Look here...

You might want to read the first post in that thread too.
Watch carefully as the device boots up and you get the yellow triangle logo. If that boot logo comes up and stays there, it's in fastboot. If the boot logo comes up, the screens blacks out, and then the boot logo comes back up (dimmer) then it's either trying to get into recovery or booting into the OS and failing.
I would try setting the bootmode to normal in KFU and when it says "<waiting for device>" reboot the Kindle Fire. Since you have FFF, the fastboot program on your computer will wait for the Kindle Fire's FFF bootloader to get into temporary fastboot and reset the bootmode when the KF is ready.

But, the computer won't even recognize there is a device connected to it
I will have to try installing the drivers from the Android SDK... maybe that will turn up something. But, by installing the drivers from KFU, it doesn't work.
When I plug the device in, it beeps at me saying device is unrecognize and it couldn't install drivers because there was a malfunction. In the device manager (while that's happening) it shows up as an unrecognized usb device. Then, it goes away (the device doesn't stay in the device manager). Then, that whole thing happens again one more time. There isn't anything for me to update in the device manager... thoughts?

And because its not recognized in the device manger, kfu isn't picking it up

If you can't get the drivers working with the KFU distribution, you'll have a harder time with the SDK. They are the same drivers, but KFU has an updated, Kindle Fire specific .inf file for the driver and also installs the .ini file in the .android folder that you'll need. I don't know what you see in the device manager, but if you don't get one of the devices shown in the post I referred to earlier, I would try another Windows machine. You won't be able to do anything without getting it to detect your KF and load the proper drivers. If you are more adventurous, you could try pokey9000's Firekit (search for it) and try using linux to send it fastboot commands.

Yeah, that's my problem. I have tried 3 different windows machines (all windows 7) and, being the adventurous person i am I tried the Linux fix (removing back cover...) to no avail. All that did was make my kindle blink green. Not sure what that means either.

Well, if you can't get any of those scenarios to work out, maybe it's a hardware issue. It might be something as simple as a bad USB cable or something more serious within the KF itself. I've never had a problem with Windows or Linux not seeing the KF, so my hands on experience in this regard is limited... my KF has never been broken to that degree. I'm always curious to see what's going on with people's KF when they say nothing works, but my KF has never given me that opportunity.

Sometimes in order to install the correct driver you need to delete the original from your computer because it will continue to attempt to revert to the default but beforehand try rebooting your computer and the kindle

[Q] Kindle Fire Really bricked

Please, please, really, help me out. My kindle fire is bricked, I tried Unbrick tool and a lot of other things, like installing again the drivers, the sdk, but nothing works at all!!
Here is the thing: When I was rooting my Kindle, my building got a blackout during the root process, and when the light goes on, my kindle was stucked on "Kindle Fire" logo. When I use adb devices, nothing shows. When I connect to Windows, it shows as a Unknown device, and when I try to install adb composite, it give a message saying that the driver android_winusb is not compatible with the hardware connected to USB. So, I can now really use this brand new Kindle Fire as a brick? I bought it on june 06 2012 !!!!!! Please, help me with this.. please..

Uninstall the unknown usb driver
Unplug kindle from usb
Reboot pc
Install drivers from kindle fire utility using the install_drivers bat
Plug kindle in, should recognize as adb device (if it shows up as a kindle uninstall those and reboot)
You may need to use kfu to get into normal bootmode if stuck in fastbook onc the drivers are set

Stuck in Kindle Fire logo mostly means your your KF is in fast boot mode. Try unplug your KF, get the latest KFU and reinstall drivers, reboot pc and reconnect KF.
Open KFU and select normal boot mode.

Thank you for the answers, but it is still not working. I did everything you told me, but its not working. My Windows 7 set the device as unknown. When I set it to normal boot mode, the program starts to wait for the device that is already pluged in.

First figure out where it's getting stuck in the boot process. If the bootlogo appears on the display and stays that way without ever blacking out, then it's in fastboot mode.

If it does go black before showing the bootlogo again, then it's no longer in fastboot mode and its trying to boot into something. In this case, you'll have to hope that it's getting far enough into the boot process that it can accept adb commands from your computer.
Either way, you'll have to make sure the drivers are working properly.

The second one covers drivers, but the first 3 posts in general should be helpful to you. If it's not in fastboot mode and you can't get it to execute adb commands, you can either get a factory cable or open up the back cover on the device and use Firekit.

Failed attempt at rooting kindle, flashing screen not recognized by device manager.

I've attempted to root my kindle fire with the kindle fire utility and it wasn't 100% successful.
Im stuck on the kindle fire screen where it's booting up and it's on an endless cycle whether
plugged into the computer, or charging through the outlet. It's also completely unrecognized
when I do plug it into my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated to unbrick it.
Important: When the battery wasn't dead it just stayed at the kindle fire and recognized.
But using Kindle Fire Utility and a few other unbricking programs could not find the device.

I had a similar experience today rooting my friends kindle fire... The kf utility kept giving me a error, something about removing a root check. And it just kept booting into recovery so on boot up where twrp gives you the 3 options... Normal boot, recovery, or change bootmode I just selected change bootmode and it booted right on up and worked fine...root is good and alls was well every since... Not saying this will solve your problem but just figured I'd share incase... Goodluck!

First things first, did you have ADB installed correctly?
I had the same issue that you are having now and I was freaking out.
I was sure my kindle was bricked and my wife was going to be pizzed at me.
After about 2 hours of searching the forums, I found out that getting stuck at the kindle logo screen is pretty common.
When you are stuck at this screen you are stuck in "fast boot"
Here is what I did to fix mine.
Mine was having the exact same issue as yours.
I could not get my PC to recognize my kindle at all and I was stuck at the logo screen.
1. Unplug kindle from PC
2. Hold down power button for 30 seconds until it powers off
3. Plug kindle into PC and power it on
4. More than likely PC will still not recognize it
5. Open Kindle Fire Utility program and choose Option 1 for boot menu
6. Then press 1 again to tell kindle to boot normally and press enter
7. The KFU should say something like "kindle is being told to boot normally"
8. Once kindle reboots, you should be good to go
9. PC should recognize kindle now
I would say once this is done, uninstall your drivers for kindle and reboot your PC
Once PC is back up, reinstall the ADB drivers and try KFU again.
As a side note, ADB would not work on my PC which is running XP
I was able to use KFU on my wife's PC which is running windows 7 and I know have root access.
I am currently running JandyCane on my kindle

All I am left with is "Waiting for device" in kindle fire utility..

OK, what happened when you plugged it back into your PC did it recognize it?
Can you uninstall the drivers for it and then reinstall the drivers for it?
What OS are you running?

I don't use Windows so I couldn't say for sure whether this works or not, but it's worth a try.

Kindle Fire stuck at logo after failed rooting.

My friend left me his Kindle Fire yesterday (it's vanilla, because he only watches movies with it), and I've tried rooting the device and complications happen and now my Kindle is stuck at logo. I'd really appreciate it if you can help me fix it. Here's what happened:
- I downloaded the KFU, and followed the instruction on rooting. After installing the drivers and run the utility, the driver shows as online and 4000, and I started rooting.
- The utility downloaded TWRP and FFF, and while installing FFF, the utility is stuck at <waiting for device> (at the same time, Windows gives me an error of Device not recognized). After I unplugged the device, kindle now is stuck at logo. I tried to reinstall the driver through the file in KFU to no avail.
- Open Device Manager, I saw the driver has yellow exclamation. Followed someone's guide on here, I uninstall the driver.
- After I plug the Kindle in again, Windows won't recognize the device and in Device Manager, it shows up as Unknown Device.
- I tried to reinstall the driver through KFU, it installs really fast (I think that means I haven't exactly uninstall the driver, idk), but then the device manager still doesn't recognize Kindle and it still shows Unknown Device.

If it says /unknown device/ in your divice manager then your drivers are not installed...Get your drivers installed first.Also try the UNBRICK utility it help me when i first started.

Most of the time (if not all), when I see an "unknown device" error, it is a sign of a corrupt or failing bootloader. So far, there is only one way to fix a bad bootloader (Firekit), but it takes a little work on your part.
Before I get into that just yet, you need to know that on top of that potentially being the problem, you still have to deal with Windows driver issues. So my suggestion to you is, since you may very well have to install Linux or set up a Linux LiveUSB to fix your bootloader problem, you might as well install Soupkit to see if the bootloader is in a usable enough condition to issue fastboot commands. It's unlikely, but you'll at least be able to launch Firekit easily, and without the need to install anything else.

I'm having the same issue with my manager's kindle fire (6.3.1). I attempted to root using the instructions provided here . My windows explorer crashed during the process and the kindle has been stuck on the kindle logo since.
I have tried restarting the process with his supplied driver and I can get the kindle to be recognized correctly in the device manager, but the process does not work.
I have also tried the kindle fire unbrick utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428428 to no avail (device not found).
I have also tried the kindle fire utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889 also to no avail (ADB Status: Offline Boot Status: Unknown).
And last but not least, I have constructed a "factory cable" in an attempt to fix this. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be working either. Even with the factory cable inserted, the device never boots to anything but the kindle fire logo (Drivers installed, plug in, power off, power back on, kindle logo).
I would purchase a pre-made factory cable, but they all ship from China, I'm a cheapskate, and I'm pretty sure mine is configured correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions for trouble shooting this?

hey man, im having the same exact issue, did you ever end up getting it resolved

cm10 logo stuck, boot status unknown, ect

ok first here is my problem
I have a Kindle fire that is stuck at the boot logo for cm10 from what ive found out due to not clearing the cache prior to rebooting
also with KFU running and the KF hooked up it reads adb status online and boot status unknown. when hooked up through the regular usb cable it goes through to the cm10 boot logo and is recognized by the computer and kfu
when hooked up trhough the factory cable its neither recognized by my computer or KFU and only stays at the kidlefire orange and white logo.
NOW how i got here
little sister got the KF and of course wanted more out of it. rooted and installed twrp and proceeded to flash roms through twrp SHE DIDNT INSTALL FFF. she said she got it stuck first on the AOSP? boot logo also what we later found out from not clearing the cache. then was able to get in through KFU to reboot back up to recovery and flash back to factory setting but still with twrp installed. well then went on to flash cm10 again without clearing the cache AFTER flashing the final gapps before rebooting and got it stuck yet again at the boot logo.
so with her being out of town i wanted to fix it for her so i got a factory cable and what not but wanted to try first through kfu so i hook it up and its recognized and what not well when i go to push 1 for bootmodes i accidently hit 4 i think and starting installing twrp AGAIN while it was STUCK at the cm10 boot logo. and that was the last thing that got me stuck to where the boot status isnt noticed
WHAT IVE TRIED. everything
kfu doesnt find the file for bootmodes now so i tried command prompts and thats saying device offline
so i got a factory cable and that makes it to where the computer AND kfu dont recognize it at all???
i also get with the regualr usb cable MTP USB device FAILED with the litt;le yellow caution triangle under Portable Devices but
shows it under Android Phone as Android Composite ADB interface???
but as stated with the factory cable it IMMEDIATELY says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED
with regular power it boots and gets stuck at the cm10 logo screen
with factory cable it only goes and stops at the orange and white kindle fire logo
i hope ive provided everything i can and hope someone can help out. thanks guys and its been some great reading on this site

This means your bootloader is not the FireFireFire.

Best way to get things working here is to run Kindle fire utility, run the "intall FireFireFire" option, it will say waiting on device, with your kindle off, attach the Factory cable to the kindle and then plug it into the PC. Hopefully this will get the bootloader installed, and while you're at it, go ahead and reinstall TWRP, as it shouldn't cause an issue. After you get the bootloader and TWRP installed, you can wipe caches and see if that helps.

Ya i told her if she would have installed the FFF that alot of this would be a whole bunch easier.
As for installing the drivers ive done that and it IS being noticed by the computer as i stated with the reg. usb cable, In KFU its read as ADB Status ONLINE but bootmode status UNKNOWN. so its being recognized just i think since the Kindle is stuck in whatever bootmode that its not being read.
ONLY WHEN i plug it in with the Factory cable is it completely invisible to the computer and unrecognized IMMEDIATLEY after attached to the KF.
But im going to try that last piece of advice but i had tried something similar with going to the KFU and choosing option 1 then choosing i believe option 2 for recovery mode then hit enter and it said "waiting for device" BUT as usual it didnt even read that the device was connected with the Factory Cable. IS there a special different kind of driver for the FACTORY cable that i dont know about? MAYBE its not made right???? i bought it from a reputable ebay dealer. and it DOES alter the state of the KF by keeping it at the KF logo instead of going on through to the CM10 boopt logo.
i dont know.
ANYONE reading this with some idea please chime in cause its gotten to the point where i just turn the KF on to see it light up and watch the cm10 boot animation thinking of the day that i will one day be able to use it :crying::crying:

seems my problem is the drivers and what not so hey why not right. SUCKS i had to search so many places to even know FULLY what pokey (the op) was talking about.
such as making a bootable usb. finding the diagram on how to short out the kindle and things of that but i fully feel confident that this will fix it. also ive included my links incase anyone else is having this problem and isnt as good at searching.

i have one other option you might wanna try.
using fastboot cable, get to the kindle logo and plug it in to your computer.
delete your .android folder located at c:\users\%your user%\.android
open kfu and it should say offline
run the option to install FFF that might do it.

now you cant get into recovery right?

I can't get anywhere, or flash anything. It just boots up, and goes to the off center CM logo.

Might be a stupid question to ask - but it seems like you already have firefirefire due to previous flashing and etc, have you tried pushing the power button repeatedly during the boot to change the bootmode?
This can be an easy way to get into recovery and do a complete wipe then reflash. I had an issue similar to this and it was because I forgot to do my wipes because I was focused on getting my device recognized by KFU.

sorry been lazy and i gotta search where all the links were now... but def going to do this today sometime.....oh ya links are in my post lol ok well i WILL get back to see if this "drastic way" works is it wierd that it doesnt seem that complicated to do it this way??? i feel like im missing something like it should be alot harder. idk ill find out and get back.
