I've attempted to root my kindle fire with the kindle fire utility and it wasn't 100% successful.
Im stuck on the kindle fire screen where it's booting up and it's on an endless cycle whether
plugged into the computer, or charging through the outlet. It's also completely unrecognized
when I do plug it into my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated to unbrick it.
Important: When the battery wasn't dead it just stayed at the kindle fire and recognized.
But using Kindle Fire Utility and a few other unbricking programs could not find the device.
uh yeah a usb drive, pedrive universal usb creator and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038
I had a similar experience today rooting my friends kindle fire... The kf utility kept giving me a error, something about removing a root check. And it just kept booting into recovery so on boot up where twrp gives you the 3 options... Normal boot, recovery, or change bootmode I just selected change bootmode and it booted right on up and worked fine...root is good and alls was well every since... Not saying this will solve your problem but just figured I'd share incase... Goodluck!

Here is what I did to fix mine
Hello,
First things first, did you have ADB installed correctly?
I had the same issue that you are having now and I was freaking out.
I was sure my kindle was bricked and my wife was going to be pizzed at me.
After about 2 hours of searching the forums, I found out that getting stuck at the kindle logo screen is pretty common.
When you are stuck at this screen you are stuck in "fast boot"
Here is what I did to fix mine.
Mine was having the exact same issue as yours.
I could not get my PC to recognize my kindle at all and I was stuck at the logo screen.
1. Unplug kindle from PC
2. Hold down power button for 30 seconds until it powers off
3. Plug kindle into PC and power it on
4. More than likely PC will still not recognize it
5. Open Kindle Fire Utility program and choose Option 1 for boot menu
6. Then press 1 again to tell kindle to boot normally and press enter
7. The KFU should say something like "kindle is being told to boot normally"
8. Once kindle reboots, you should be good to go
9. PC should recognize kindle now
I would say once this is done, uninstall your drivers for kindle and reboot your PC
Once PC is back up, reinstall the ADB drivers and try KFU again.
As a side note, ADB would not work on my PC which is running XP
I was able to use KFU on my wife's PC which is running windows 7 and I know have root access.
I am currently running JandyCane on my kindle
All I am left with is "Waiting for device" in kindle fire utility..
try this

OK, what happened when you plugged it back into your PC did it recognize it?
Can you uninstall the drivers for it and then reinstall the drivers for it?
What OS are you running?
I don't use Windows so I couldn't say for sure whether this works or not, but it's worth a try.

Please, please, really, help me out. My kindle fire is bricked, I tried Unbrick tool and a lot of other things, like installing again the drivers, the sdk, but nothing works at all!!
Here is the thing: When I was rooting my Kindle, my building got a blackout during the root process, and when the light goes on, my kindle was stucked on "Kindle Fire" logo. When I use adb devices, nothing shows. When I connect to Windows, it shows as a Unknown device, and when I try to install adb composite, it give a message saying that the driver android_winusb is not compatible with the hardware connected to USB. So, I can now really use this brand new Kindle Fire as a brick? I bought it on june 06 2012 !!!!!! Please, help me with this.. please..
Thank you very much
I was in the same place yesterday
Uninstall the unknown usb driver
Unplug kindle from usb
Reboot pc
Install drivers from kindle fire utility using the install_drivers bat
Plug kindle in, should recognize as adb device (if it shows up as a kindle uninstall those and reboot)
You may need to use kfu to get into normal bootmode if stuck in fastbook onc the drivers are set

Stuck in Kindle Fire logo mostly means your your KF is in fast boot mode. Try unplug your KF, get the latest KFU and reinstall drivers, reboot pc and reconnect KF.
Open KFU and select normal boot mode.

Thank you for the answers, but it is still not working. I did everything you told me, but its not working. My Windows 7 set the device as unknown. When I set it to normal boot mode, the program starts to wait for the device that is already pluged in.
kindle fire bricked at all
What else can I do? I have tried on Mac, on Linux and Windows, but its not working in any of these systems.

First figure out where it's getting stuck in the boot process. If the bootlogo appears on the display and stays that way without ever blacking out, then it's in fastboot mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159
If it does go black before showing the bootlogo again, then it's no longer in fastboot mode and its trying to boot into something. In this case, you'll have to hope that it's getting far enough into the boot process that it can accept adb commands from your computer.
Either way, you'll have to make sure the drivers are working properly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552547
The second one covers drivers, but the first 3 posts in general should be helpful to you. If it's not in fastboot mode and you can't get it to execute adb commands, you can either get a factory cable or open up the back cover on the device and use Firekit.
Hi.
I tried to install cyanogenmod on my Kindle Fire. Unfortunately, my device has been bricked....
First of all, I installed sdk manager with platform tools and google usb driver. I did everything to computer can work with Kindle Fire (finally I used "Kindle Fire Driver" pack because when I want to install driver by "Kindle Fire Utility" I can see error, because I haven't english version of Windows).
In the end I turned on "Kindle Fire Utility", I connected device to computer. Device was seen in the computer and "KFU". Then I gave a command to install root and superuser. After this command, I read my device will be relaunch in fastboot mode. KFU tried to download and install
TWRP, but it wasn't complete, because "KFU" couldn't connect with server. Application finished work and my Kindle Fire has been frozen. Now I can see only "Kindle Fire" logo. When I connect Kindle Fire, computer don't recognize it.
What Can I Do? I read that device is again and again in fastboot mode. What should I do to bring this device to life?
I read any command, but I can't do nothing, because computer can't see device.
Please, help me . Thanks in advance and best regards.
And...sorry for my english, I hope You'll understand me.

If i am correct, you should be able to turn it off by holding the power button until the screen turns black while stuck... then just reboot normally.
Thanks for reply. Unfortunately each time when I turn on device, it's stuck on logo .
Edit: When I turn on KF I can see Kindle Fire logo all time, it doesn't disappear.

Sorry, im sort of new here so i kinda guessed. :/
I hope someone else sees this thread.
EDIT:There may be hope! According to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832812 . He has the same problem... try booting into the recovery menu then clear the cache.
The problem is my device has stock bootloader installed, so I can't do this .
I will read some articles, maybe I bring this device to life, but I'm losing hope. Drivers are installed correctly (I think so) and computer recognized unknown device (with problems) - I can't do nothing.

look
go back to the kindle fire utility and choose option 1 then choose the option with the 4000 number and thats it.
Ok, you're right! Kindle Fire change bootmode from 4000 (normal) to fastboot (4002). When I plug and unplug device, computer doesn't recognize it. But when I turn on device and connect to computer - it works! I can see ADB Composite ADB Interface.
Thanks for all reply .
Good

Is it up and running m8?:good:
I'm having this same problem with the computer not recognizing the kindle as it is stuck on the boot screen. However, nothing I do gets the computer to recognize that the KF is plugged in. Further, after initially only being frozen on the KF boot screen, now when I plug in the KF it just flashes the "Kindle Fire" screen over and over, shutting itself on and off in an endless loop. Computer can't recognize the KF, none of the utilities pick it up and I don't know how to go back and uninstall the drives because the device itself won't even show up on my computer. Everyone who has this boot screen problem seems to fix it by changing to or from fastboot, but my device doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the computer at all any more. Suggestions?

Do you have TWRP or any other bootloader installed?
I attempted to root my kindle fire and halfway through the rooting processes somehow the Kindle Fire got disconnected. I am now stuck at the splash screen that displays the white and orange Kindle Fire logo and it will not get past this screen. Nothing else happens its just the static logo. I went online and ordered a fast boot cable and attempted to fix it that way but it still will not work and remains on the static splash screen. The computer does not even seem to recognize that it's plugged in nor is it listed in the device manager. I have scoured countless forums trying to find a solution to unbrick my Kindle Fire. Any suggestions on how to get it back and working? I've even searched this forum countless times and cannot find anything that will work! Please help!

Yes, it was using the Kindle Fire Utility. Any way just to reinstall 6.3 and have it back to unrooted normalness?
If you broke the bootoader it just will not be that simple you will need firekit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038 .

As long as your laptop can detect..you are save... do the following and try:
1. Reboot your kindle and insert usb cable.
2. Start KFU on your PC
3. Once the Kindle Fire logo appear, at your laptop KFU, quickly hit "1" for Boot Menu, and then hit "1" again for Normal Boot.
Let me know if it works...

I faced the same issue and I precisely had done what ataraxist has suggested.
On your laptop, you might also need to install the drivers which come along with KFU.
That is precisely what works unless something is broken.
Thanks to all that replied! I will be trying this tonight and will let you know if I am able to get it to work! Thanks again!

Try it again, only this time when you get "waiting for device", hold the power button until it shuts off and start it up again. You may have to repeat the process until you have a custom bootloader installed.

Tried it for almost half an hour with it sitting and trying to reboot, no such luck. My laptop is running Windows 8, and it makes the "usb plugged in connection" sound but then it won't let me install the driver for it. I have the driver installed on my Windows 7 desktop, but the KF is not recognized as being plugged in by my desktop.

Yeah, Windows 8 won't work. Boot a Linux LiveUSB and run SoupKit to eliminate Windows driver issues altogether.
FIXED!
Thanks to all that replied! The Soupkit worked! Loaded Ubuntu 12.10 onto a flashdrive, downloaded Soupkit ran it, it took a few reboots but then it finally ran TWRP and I was able to wipe and install the 6.3.1 upload and all is working now! Thanks a ton once again!
received a used kindle fire, mode D01400. I did not check what version it was.
I used KFU, to install drivers
ran kfu
selected 2 - install permanet root with super user
the either i hit boot menu or it went to the bootmenu
i selected 2 - fastboot (4002)
device restarted but now stuck on the kindl fire screen. The Kindle is White and the fire word is yellow
device manager shows up as unknown device. tried on a different computer and also comes up as unknow.
kfu shows adb status - offline
boot status unknow
tried to uninstall drivers, with the same results.
when boot to recovery by holding the power button when i see kindle fire, the kindle shuts off.
also tried to use kindle unbrick untility. i hit the stuck on logo option and it also returned a "device not found" error message.
So my question is, can it be fixed or did i just break this new toy.
please help.
Thanks!
update:
tried on 2 different computer and still got the same device unknown.
also note i do not have the original cable
i got a 3rd computer, actually a vm on a mac and it came up as "Kindle"
I was ran KFU and sent the boot normal signal. The status said offline/unknow, but after sending the the normal boot, the kindle booted in regular mode!
so basically its fixed. Thansk for reading.

This is my second time rooting my Gen1 Kindle Fire. (The first time was very successful but stupid me, I went back to factory settings for no good reason).
From KF's updated software (6.3.2) I used Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.9, to install TWRP 2.6 and other google apps. I loaded TWRP and cleared cache etc. I then installed the new CM 10.1 SGT 7 rom. When i rebooted the KF, i didnt get the option to boot into twrp. What happens now is, it shows the orange Kindle Fire boot screen, and then continues to the CM10.1 boot screen. I may have installed CM10 over the KF software somehow. Now, my PC recognizes it as a Kindle Fire when I plug in the USB but there's an error in the device manager. Basically, KFU doesn't recognize it's a Kindle anymore. When I try to reboot it in recovery mode, it just does a regular reboot. Nothing about my KF looks like there's twrp installed in the background. I can't access it no matter what.
I tried sideloading Google Play and installing the TWRP Manager app but that doesn't do anything at all. I feel like my KF is going to be stuck like this forever. Any way to hard reset everything without TWRP? I have the proper "update.zip" file on the sdcard but I can't access any way to Wipe it and Install it.
Just so you know, the kindle isn't bricked it just seems like it's permanently stuck the way it is and my PC won't recognize its harddrive via USB.
Any suggestions?
Still no replies huh? Damn.
So when I turn on my kindle fire, the orange Kindle Fire logo shows up for a few seconds THEN the CyanogenMod boot screen comes up. I never get the option to boot into TWRP.
When I plug my KF into my PC, the Kindle Fire drivers get an error so i change it into an Android ADB Composite device. It still won't recognized the device properly. When I open up the console and try "adb devices" nothing shows as connected. I've installed the SDK and changed the files but it's the same thing. All that to say, the KFU no longer recognizes when the KF is plugged in.
