Tweacks can do that , look for Rom's that contain them

Current version of tweaks doesn't have such option, may be in future version..
I have used that tweak on dhd.

Thanks. I will try this now.
It works. Great, any way to turn on when needed, just like a small app.
Sorry to ask, I am on insert coins 6.1.0 Rom, it doesn't support latest tweaks not even in future unless the tweaks was released to public as a flashable zip.
Thanks again!

Well, you could edit the script to echo 255 instead of 0.
Call it 'key on', and put in root explorer somewhere. When you need them on (why? Lol) execute the script with root explorer.
Or just delete the keyoff script.
I just keep em off. I know where the buttons are.

Yeah you're right. Once we get used to it we don't need the backlight anytime.
But with your process everytime when changed, I have to make a reboot.

Maybe I should make an app. Might be hard when I don't have a pc.
http://db.tt/k0yjWc6c
Actually, just execute the above script in root explorer for auto backlights. Saves rebooting.
An app would need root? If not, it would be superb for those who don't want to root right now (like me ).
Sure would.

No, it needs root access to place a in system partition.
But I think you can use this Droid explorer instead. But you need to connect your phone to PC and you have to run that Software. After that you can have complete access of your phone's system partition from your PC. But there were some more things to be done before all this. Check the website for details.
i installed this in init.d, ran it and backlight is off... after (full) reboot (fastboot off) backlight is on. how can this be permanent OFF after reboot? i am using latest ARHD..

Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using xda premium
What would you guys like to see in the next auto installer?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using xda premium
Well, as I already told, 1 autoinstaller to revert to stock recovery. I jusrt wrote a tutorial how to unlock bootloader and how to lock it again. So we have a "way-back-to-warranty-chain"
CWM autoinstaller is nice enough, I think. Afterwards ROMs can be easily installed, system can be backed up etc.
So, maybe you could make a perm root auto installer. Supertoolv3 does it's job, but why not having the phone rooted and cwm installed in 1 step?
does it work with another type, lets say Salsa ? I just wonder ..

I am using a stock HTC Wildfire S,which is pretty slow for me,having used a HP VEER 4G before.i do not use facebook app or twitter app,or any other stock app.Do not have any widgets on my home screen, like my phone clean, simple and fast.Just use it for messaging (whatsapp),a few games (angry birds lags,a lot, really need temple run),and the camera.A friend told me that if i flash my phone and install custom ROMs,i will be able to get rid of the stock apps, and overclock the phone, which will make it faster.
I do not know how to flash or install a ROM.Help needed.A detailed tutorial will be very helpfull
Any advice on ROMs according to my needs is really needed

Copy the root.zip file into your phone SD card.
Turn your phone off.
Boot into recovery: Hold down the "power" button and the "volume down" button for a few seconds till you see the HBOOT screen. Let it do its thing and then select "RECOVERY".
At the recovery menu, use the volume buttons to select "install zip from sd card".
Then select "choose zip from sd card".
Then find the "root.zip" file on the list.
Select "YES".
Let the script do its thing till you see "Install from sd card completed".
Select "Go Back" on the menu till you find the "power off" option and select it.
Turn your phone back on and let Android boot.

which you more want but wildchild is more stable cuz it's based on stock ROM
yes, they both overclocked
No, it won't. But you need to know your phone max freq so you need just try it at max freq which is 806 Mhz at both ROM if it unstable take 787 Mhz if still unstable take lower and do this till your device will work stable my works fine at 806 Mhz.

will i be able to remove preloaded apps in wildchild ??
You can remove apps from zipped from folder. I'm writing from phone now so I can't say where they are. There is some battery life tweaks in wildchild ROM you can use CPU frequency and governor which are special for it. (There is said in ROM thread about it). And you can type in your phone dialer *#*#4636#*#* then will appear debug menu, then click phone information and in bottom choose GSM only (PRL) instead WCDMA preferred. This will allow you to use 3g for internet connection.

yes you read that right, this may sound strange at first but does anyone know of a reliable way to brick the one V so it goes into qcom dload mode? i have a jtag box and some friends who want s-off but dont want their phones opening up if possible so a non intrusive method of getting into dload mode would be great (ive tried going into bootloader, hit reboot bootloader and holding vol+ along with all the other methods mentioned in the easy to brick thread but still no qcom mode on either phone, one on hboot 1.16 and the other on 1.18) any help appreciated.
No need of booting into bootloader, when you are on the home screen keep pressing power and volume up for 20s.. although it hurts my soul to type this..

In ES File Explorer, click on settings(top left) and scroll down to Root Explorer. Toggle it to on(if not already) and then click the words "Root Explorer". This will bring up a menu. Select "mount r/w" then select r/w for the system partition.
It was simpler in older versions of es.

Don't use a toolkit, and root manually. It'll stick. Then you can go right ahead and remove any app you want. Just don't remove the wrong ones. And of course, make backups through the steps

I do not believe this in itself will work. System is write protected, even with root. You can delete the bloat apps, but when you reboot, they will return.

I have been using the stock Rom and just changing a few things using xposed and that's all I need to do. But rather not root if I cannot remove apps of my choosing.

I'm confused, isn't root required for Xposed?
I cannot keep root. I've used command prompt and followed the instructions. I'm still losing root. I got my phone with 4.4.4. I've installed supersu through recovery as a zip file but nothing is working.

I missed the stock ROM part.
I know I've removed google apps recently from a custom, (play services because of FCs) and it screwed stuff up. But now thinking back, I'm not sure I did a reboot. I never intended to keep it off, and flashed the ROM back to reinstall PS and fix the FCs.
I think I did a reboot first, but I may not have. From what you say, I probably didn't. Unless it is just the stock bloatware that has read only.
You need system write protection off, and root.
