"Samsung" Galaxy Nexus noise cancelling phone - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Im suspect there is no noise cancelling on this phone which Samsung built it.
How to enable noise cancelling when in call??? Samsung dont want to answer
and also why this phone keep switch it display on automatically when in idle (switch off the display)

Yes it did. The 2nd mic is in the back under small notch of back cover. That's the noise cancelling microphone.
If you don't want the screen to turn off there is a setting for that.

Unfortunately the second mic does not work for noise cancellation during calls. Only for video recording. The hardware is not present to use it during phone calls.

That seems rather silly. I was wondering if this was the reason groove ip behaves so differently than on my other phone but I guess not if it's not being used...

How to enable dual microphone not on a flat surface?

The cool thing about the phone is that I can put it faced down to automatically turn the speakerphone and the dual microphone on.
But what if I want to do it while holding the device on my hand? I tried putting it faced down on the case (on my palm) but since it's not exactly flat, it's not working as it should
If I press the "Speakerphone" button on the TouchFlo 3D while having a call, will that give the same functionality as if the device is faced down?
Once you dialed the number just press the "Speaker" button. It works for me.
So it will also turn on the dual microphone with noise cancellation thing? Cool, good to know!
my TP2 doesn't turn speaker on.....when face down during calls....it keeps speaker off!!!!!!!!

Did you make sure your G-Sensor is calibrated?
yes am sure .... G-sensor works perfectly
works with Light sensor
After some tries I noticed Speaker was enabled with both Facedown AND Lightsensor obtured...
to my knowledge both mics work all the time whether your on speaker or not
Ah alright, good to know. The reason was because sometimes my friends went "Huh? What did you say?" when I put them on speaker mode (inside quiet my bedroom). I guess I still had to shout even with a dual microphone + noise cancellation
press and hold the call send key whilst making a call to enable both speakers.
in settingsĀ»all settings there's mic input control option (second option on mine) which supposedly increases or decreases the volume of sound captured by the mic to make sure it is not too loud or too soft. Unfortunately when I had it enabled everything captured by the mic was extremely quiet. Even with the audiorecorder if I had the mic right next to my mouth it was extremely low. So maybe it is because of that. Try disabling it, maybe your friend will hear you better.

[Q] Earpiece makes a click / pop / crack noise when making & ending a call

Hello
I'm new, 1st post. I just got a DHD off ebay. It's got Orange SW 2.3.3 which I may change after some thorough reading.
I've noticed when I make a call (during call setup) the earpiece makes a click pop noise (as if the speaker is being activated). It makes the same noise when the call is ended.
It makes the same noise when switching from earpiece to loud speaker during a call.
Call quality appears to be otherwise OK.
Any ideas, sound like a HW fault?
Thanks,

[Q] GN and static noise with headset

Hello,
We purchased a used GN the other day from someone on Craigslist. I checked the phone out (or I thought I did). Went through camera, speakphone, wifi, gps, no water damage and so on.
But after activation when using the internal headset we get a static noise that you hear through out the call and the other party does too. If you change to speakerphone all is clear and sounds great. Switch back to headset and the noise is there again. You can press mute and the other party no longer hears the static.
Is this a mic issue?
If you press mute the other party will no longer hear anything. It does sound like a front mic issue to me.

Deactivate noise cancelling

From the first day on, the microphone of my P6 did not work very well. The other person always complains about how silent i speak. With a headset plugged in or on speaker mode everything is fine.
After tinkering around i think, that the noise cancelling microphone on my phone is broken. (My warranty is over, so i do not want to replace it) The easiest option would be to simply disable it.
Sady the P6 (B520) does not have an option in the caller app to disable the noise cancelling in calls.
Is someone out there who can tell me, how to disable the noise cancelling on my rooted P6?
Thank you very much!
Sepel
I'd like to have an answer to that as well, I have the exact same problem..

Noise cancellation not working properly

Hi friends,
Can you guys confirm that noise cancellation is inactive in OOS 3.2.7 stock, unrooted, locked or do I have an isolated issue?
Tinkering around on my phone OP3 in the engineering mode, I did an "echo test". When "Primary mic" is selected, the speaker echoes the taps or my light blows into the respective mic but no such thing happens when I try that with the secondary mic.
Is this a bug in engineering mode for the oneplus 3?
if yes, how can I test for noise cancellation else where?
if no, can I ask for replacement?
Thanks

I dont think its a hardware issue, most probably the mic is just fine. That is the reason why phones usually have dual, sometimes more, microphones to help with noise detection and cancellation, but Op3 still has problem with this mic recordings and noise cancellation. I think this is either due to coding and programming issue with audio threshold of recording or dismissing noise, or due to the fact that microphones do not coordinate together properly which may be due to poor placement of the mic on the back of the phone that can get blocked often. Im interested to see if someone solved this problem, since i have quite a lot of trouble with it, when i use speakerphone in whatsapp call many times i talk but the phone doesnt register it, or it registers it really really low volume. Im not having the same issue when i talk on the normal audio call mode.

Yes, people are saying that noise cancellation might not be working properly.
If that's the case, I'll just want to make sure my hardware is not at fault here since I can't hear anything from the secondary mic.
Can you please try the above in your phone's engineering mode to see if it works for you or not.
Thank you.
