Winamp seems to be doing the strangest thing on my one x which is surprising considering how good it was on my DHD
Basically seemingly at random it seems to stop playing and when I open the app to investigate it locks up and the only way to recover is to fc it then start it again, does it every couple of songs and its driving me mad
Sent from my leedroid loaded HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Additional info when I restart it on the next track it sometimes skips to a random distance into the track as if its been playing in the background
I've tried fixing permissions and re-installing the app, any ideas anyone has would be really useful as it looks like I'm on my phone constantly at work and all I'm doing is sorting this out
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yeah had tried it and the app just randomly freezes. Still not compatible to our one x.

Received my HTC one X last saturday. Winamp is giving a lot of troubles indeed. Freezes constantly. Also problem with playlist. When I copy my playlists from my HTC Desire, Winamp recognizes them as new playlists, but they are all empty
I just came in here to post about Winamp freezing and saw this thread.
Im having the exact problems you have described. Freezing.. Skipping. Happens every few songs. Really sucks.
Hope they update soon!
I stopped using Winamp because it was uploading and downloading data when I hadn't even used the app since installation. It would have been understandable if I was actually using the app but what the hell data was it sending and receiving? It was a good few MB's of data as well.
I've given up on it until they update it the stick player isn't too bad not as sleek as winamp but I can live with it for now
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Same...
I've been experiencing this problem too, winamp has to make a fix soon for us HTC one x owners, I can't use my phone without it
As much as I like the lockscreen player for the stick music app there are so many other things wrong with it
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
good news everyone who's still following this
after an update this morning winamp is now working with a new add on you can buy that fixes track metadata etc which works quite well
Quick warning: my Android virus checker (Avast!) reported a trojan in Winamp and uninstalled as part of the cleanup process.
And it was not some hookey download, I got from the Google Play store.
Worth checking I think.

During my usual virus scans using zoner i also found a trojan within winamp on both my incredible s and transformer tablet.
The exact trojan was Trojan.androidos.droidkungfu.b-com
It's a bit weird because i've had winamp for a while now and its never come up with a infection before.
The antivirus removed the app, is there anything else I need to do to make sure i'm trojan free?
The virus was found in Winamp on my HOX after the last automatic update to the Winamp App.
Maybe it's the last update that's infected?

Damn, sorry but i'm a little pissed right now.
I would like to ask any of you fellows if the latest offcial update had any bad effects on your device ?
I have random crashes. When i try to restart it i get the white stupid HTC screen and nothing happens for a while then it restarts again from that point.
If i let it like that it will do this for about 10-15 mins. then it will eventually start.
(Ok, i just noticed that it isnt charging anymore...and when i try to unlock the screen it will turn it off.)
(After a couple of reboots it is charging again)
ffs !!!
Footnote.
I am running a standard Desire, not rooted, very few apps, no task killer.
What to do now ?
Well, now i go to work tomorrow like an idiot and will be nice with every one of my colleagues laughin at me.
YOu know, when all your colleagues use their company iPhones and you try to prove how awesome your Android is and after a couple of weeks your phones doesnt work anymore ppl will laugh at you.
So in the end i think, millions of ppl around the world should not be wrong after all.
make a gold card and flash the full generic ROM to your phone
if that doesn't work then you need to return it
No problem here works fine if not slightly better. The problem with forums is that people generally only post problems. I've seen many other posts with people reporting no issues on stock device. Could be due to an app you have.

The point is, the phone was working properly till the update.
I updated my phone yesterday as well with the OTA update. Now my phone discharges from 100% to 93% instantly from taking it off charge. I know this is an on going problem that has been happening to people since the phones launch, but mine was fine, it never did that until today.. the first time I charged it since I did the update. Coincidence? Somehow I think not
I guess the first thing to do would be a factory reset.
I have the latest update on my Desire and everything works great, certain things are better.
I'll give it a hard reset tonight when I have the time to put all the settings back to how I want. I don't want to loose all my save data on some of my games though, like totemic.. I wont play it again if I have to some of those levels again lol
My phone has just shut down by itself and the only way I was able to start it was by pulling the battery. I have the phone for some time and it's the first time something like this has happened so it has to be because of the update. Also, right after the update some of my widgets (Messages and Wi-Fi) were gone! Battery life seems worse.
I had a few problems when i updated too. but a factory reset made everithing work like a charm. (unrooted)

Bad idea there... You're going to have issues with returning it after flashing a generic ROM...
Have any of the networks actually rolled out this update?
I agree with the battery life being A LOT worse after the update. And I did flash the whole generic Rom onto it. My battery life was amazing before the update. I think it must be something to do with the radio, as they changed it in the update. Gutted now as I can't downgrade again either.

You can flash an older radio without changing the rom, but I think it you need to root first.
My battery life is awesome on this rom. My phones been off charge for 15 hours and its at about 70% now. Any other rom I've used previously custom or stock have given me far worse results.
Interesting to see how there is such a mixed bag of results.
Hi, after I updated OTA I lost WiFi after a couple of days, not immediately... I read here that removing battery helps so I did it. The problem is gone (for now at least)
But I don't want to remove the battery every few days.

Well, just did a hard reset.
The phone wasn't turning on anymore.
It doesn't seem to work better either.
I still get the white startup screen and thats it.
No access to the phone, occasionally after a few tries it will login.
Really disappointed.

Anyone else experiencing problems with the Market again just now?
It starts to download the file, then comes up download paused, then download unsuccessful.

Anyone else seeing the same?

I came to see what was going on over here by pure chance and I saw this thread, I'm glad i'm not alone! Not working for me either.

A clue to the issue?
I've been following this issue for a few days.
I have a T-mobile GS3 on CM 10.1. Ran the update to Play Music and it crashes as well.
It looks like the issue might be too many songs on the device. Not sure what the threshold is, but unmounting my SD (which has about 5500 songs on it) prevented Play Music from crashing. So this looks like a confirmation of the cause, at least on my device. Hopefully they fix this soon.
I'm not sure I dig the new version, though. Where did the Instant Mix go?? I guess it's a radio station now, but that pulls things in from Listen Now. What if I just want my music?

Unfortunately when mine crashes it does not let me report it,
Looks like the update doesn't like too many songs. Deleted a few hundred and it works.
It's being fixed. Saw an article about the same issue and Google was working on an update to fix the issues with crashing and not properly closing its background process.

I was getting the errors opening it and even errors after I had closed it (presumably something in background) so I uninstalled it.
After reading that people were saying they had issues related to SD card storage I turned on the 'apps must request permission to read sd card' in case that was somehow related and re-installed. working for 5 mins without a crash now (never happened before)....
Maybe anyone having a problem try re-installing now?
Google Play Music Crashes
Hey, bought my Note 3 in February 2014. My Google Play music keeps crashing. There hasn't been a post on here in a long time. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Please help!
Are there any solutions for the problems the LGOG has with Play Music All Access?
As-is, songs stop playing about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through, with the error "Music temporarily unavailable. Couldn't play the stream you requested."
This happens regardless of network connection... It was fixed when I tried out CM10, but it had so many other stability problems that it wasn't worth keeping as a daily ROM.
Apparently a lot of LGOG users have this problem, should I just cancel and go with Spotify? I really like All Access, but if there's no solution for the errors I guess there's no option.
I really liked the service, but couldn't stand the errors anymore. I canceled and went with spotify.

The only solution I found was to flash an aosp or aokp rom. Everything else I tried and even stock based roms I errored out.
I was thinking about going back to spotify but I like Google music so much better.

Still broken
Got the new version (v5.2.1224L) this morning. At first I thought it might be working but after a couple of songs, it resumed this annoying behavior.
Ok so I'm using my free trial of play music all access and I love it but question, when I select to "Keep Music on Device" and it says it's downloading, does that mean I get to keep it permanently? Even after the trial is up?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
No. Only music you buy is kept. However, if you are a music addict like I am, the 9 bucks is worth it. If you don't renew your subscription, your music will disappear. If you start using all access again, your music will come back.

Is Google Music finally working properly on stock ROMs? I remember the app was plagued with the "Music Cannot Be Played" issue, no matter what sort of connection you had. I've switched over to CM 10.2 and it works flawlessly now, but just wondering if any of the updates Google's released has fixed the issue.

I just flashed back to stock today, and I have noticed that Play Music is better, but I still have issues. It will let me play a few songs (I got through 5) and I get the Music Playback Error. When I try to resume, it gives me the error immediately, but if I rewind the song, it allows me to play a few more songs.
I am going to try and disable caching and see how that affects it.
All of my testing thus far has been on Wifi (20Mbps fiber connection), so it definitely is not an internet issue.
Yeah the errors started up again for me too, but much more infrequently. Still frequent enough to be a huge nuisance though

I have logged a case with Google Play Support. They had me go through clearing app data, etc. Of course, this didn't work, so they asked for a logcat. I sent them two logs showing multiple occurrences of the error.
So far, they have been very responsive. I sent the ticket in yesterday evening and got a response within 15 minutes. Hopefully, their engineering team can figure out what is going on from my logcats.
