Get rid of Picasa sync? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have turned off most of the syncing but pictures from blogger and Picasa still show up. I have cleared all app data for gallery and media storage + rebooted too.

uncheck "Sync Google Photos" in your sync settings?

Thanks but that isn't checked either.

Perhaps delete your google account and then re add it without picasa sync?

Just to make sure, disable Instant Upload for Google+.

You need to delete the cache AND saved data for the gallery app after disabling sync. Once those files are gone the synced photos will not show up.

Contact picture sync

So i'm wondering if anyone is also having issues with syncing Facebook pics to your contacts? I've clicked sync in the Facebook app and also in my contacts on the phone and the pictures don't sync. Maybe i'm doing something wrong?

well for the FB app.. the uh original one... you can always click "don't sync" let it erase everything then click sync again. Or Don't sync... remove FB app then dl fb app and sync.. just have toy around with it. Remember you need to let it fully sync before resetting or doing anything that will make you lose data connection. that just messes everything all up again lol.
Just realized... I should delete my FB account if I'm at a point where I help others on fb troubleshooting..
Mine will sync a handful of pictures (always for the same contacts, oddly enough) but never more than 5 or 6. Even though their Facebook page is displayed in their contact info, it won't bring their pictures over. Could this be a privacy setting on their end perhaps? I can't think why else it would sync the same people every time on three different ROMS and kernels and ignore everyone else.

I just tried that app last night and it worked good. All my contact pics are synced and I don't have to have a big program on my phone.

Google contacts
I am also having a issue with my "Google" contacts syncing pictures. I was on a stock rooted ROM with the issue, I now have the Juggernaut ROM and still, no contact pictures. I am not really interested in "Facebook" pictures, just Google contacts. If anyone has a clue on how to remedy this issue or can point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Thanks in advance XDA members.
UPDATE: I figured this out, it seems I am not the only one who came across this problem, so this is how I solved it, If you make changes to your contacts that you want to undo, you can restore your full contacts list to an earlier saved version. This allows you to undo changes like:
Recovering contacts that have been accidentally deleted
Restoring contacts after an unsuccessful sync
Undoing a recent import
Undoing a recent merge
To restore your contacts to a previous version, just follow these steps:
1Click Contacts.
2From the More actions drop-down menu, choose Restore contacts.
3Choose the time you'd like to revert your contacts list to (e.g. 10 minutes ago, one hour ago, one week ago, etc). We suggest that you also make a note of the time that you restore your contacts, in case you'd like to return to where you started.
4Click Restore. You'll see a confirmation at the top of the screen when the rollback is complete.
Hope this helps people restore their missing contact pictures and data!
If you guys wanna get the all pics for the synced contacts you should open the Facebook app and get to your friends list by using the draw on the left side. Friends is under the apps subsection. Once you are there scroll al the way down to the end of the list and wait for the pictures to load. Once you get photos for all friends loaded just reboot the phone. It should do.

and I'm assuming when you say to manually sync all contacts you mean to sync the contacts under your google account under settings>accounts?

Yeah I totally said the wrong thing. Not from the gallery, but when you have instant upload on and it uploads then to picasa. Sorry for the confusion.
I think you have to do it on the official Picasa website or Google plus.

Yeah this is what I can't figure out. I deleted the Google + account, but they are still showing on the phone in Picasa. I guess Ill try that next.
If you don't wan't your online photos to sync with your device, you can turn off sync via settings (settings -> sync -> Google account -> Google photos/picasa).
If you want to delete the photos, there is a button on google+ or picasa that will let you delete them.
go into the G+ app, or G+ on your computer, or the Picasa website. Sign in, delete the pictures, sign out.
Done.
uncheck google photos sync and then clear cache for gallery
Uncheck syns with google pictures in account settings, then wipe app data in \settings\apps\gallery. Unless you wipe gallery data, the images will shoe in the gallery.

I don't understand why people reply to the post and repeat what the person right above them said. But yeah, do what I said.. it should resolve all the problems OP is facing.

Gallery using data?

What would make my gallery use a half a gig of data? I don't have any automatic uploads enabled. If I did wouldn't it be Google plus or fb data? Never seen the gallery app even use any data before. Could this be another app uploading my gallery without me knowing?

Maybe it's syncing with picasa or something:
in google+ go to settings and see if the Turn on Instant Upload is checked. This could be the issue. Do you have any wallpaper apps installed?
Also go to the Gallery App settings and see if Google Photos Sync is on. Turn it off or check the Sync on Wifi only check box.

Picasa Photos in Gallery (4.1.2)

Been trying to delete my Picasa photos but they keep on appearing in my Gallery. No Picasa sync is set up. Even Google+ is off. Deleted the Gallery cache and Media Storage data but they are still there. I'm on stock yakju 4.1.2.
Any suggestions?

I tried that myself with no success. Even cleared data in the gallery only to have them reappear. Seems the only successful method is to remove them from Picasa. Definitely something that needs to be fixed. Maybe in 4.2...
