Been trying to delete my Picasa photos but they keep on appearing in my Gallery. No Picasa sync is set up. Even Google+ is off. Deleted the Gallery cache and Media Storage data but they are still there. I'm on stock yakju 4.1.2.
Any suggestions?

I tried that myself with no success. Even cleared data in the gallery only to have them reappear. Seems the only successful method is to remove them from Picasa. Definitely something that needs to be fixed. Maybe in 4.2...

Setup a firewall to block photo sync.......try droidwall.

Ya know what, Ive been trying to figure this out for awhile myself. Hopefully I can find a solution.

Yes. on line u can remove
I used the Picasa Tool on Google Play to delete all Picasa photos. So far, so good.

Update: So, I checked my Google account, I did not have a profile photo. Uploaded one and it gets saved to my Picasa albums. Hit Refresh in Gallery (sync off), there goes the Picasa albums in Gallery again. Stupid. :banghead:

Anyone know how to import your instagram photos to Facebook. I have tried sharing it to Facebook, but it will only give a link. I see that some people can import their pictures to a Facebook album called "instagram photos." Can anyone help?

Dude just try a Google search you'll get an answer quicker.

I tried that and can't find nothing. Thats why I'm here..

Its handled by Facebook. Whenever you post to Facebook from the Instagram app, it by default creates an album called "Instagram photos".
Its an app for hipsters.
So chances are, they won't tell you how it works.

Its not, I think its because the galaxy nexus doesn't have Facebook sync support. When I upload a photo, it never appears on my fb account, even though I linked my account.. the same goes with twitter.
Kudos to the person who can find the solution.

Mind sharing how you got it to work? I'm having the same issue...
Haha please elaborate? I must be having a derp moment if it's that easy to figure out...
In the settings under "edit sharing settings" I have it linked to my fb account. However I thought that the photos would automatically upload just like that. But when you upload a new photo, you have to check the fb box, and then upload picture.

Oic... thanks. I thought it was automatic as well

So today on the g+app I went through and deleted all the pictures in the 'from your phone' album. As it had loads of blurry shots and old stuff.
And it deleted all the photos on my phone!
Anyone else had this?

That's what it does, delete is delete.

What you really want though is the deletes on the phone to get deletes from my Google + account.

It'd be nice if deleting from the phone didn't always delete from the account. I was pretty irked when that happened despite the fact that I wasn't logged into Google+

That's what happens. If you just go onto the web and delete the photos, they won't be deleted from the internal storage of the phone.
Doing so from the app, however, does delete the original photos from your device.
I wanna have my dcim folder on my phone to stay backed up is there an app to do that?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
If you use Google+, then instant upload works great. Dropbox also has its own camera upload feature. It'll upload all the pictures you currently have on your phone to your dropbox and will automatically upload new ones as you take them. Hope this helps!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Oh hmm I may have to make a drop box. Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
No problem!
I just use Google+ for my photo backups. I can delete them anytime I want. Plus if you ever have to reset your phone, your pics will show up in your gallery as soon as you sign in. Waay convenient.

I'd say dropbox is your best bet.
Why not just enable picasa in the gallery, or Google+? They both will automatically send your pics to the cloud. Even in real time as you take new photos.

How do I do that? Like I am apparently horrible at finding settings

I also suggest Google+ since it's integrated with your google account and (personal preference) I like having everything in one place. I've had some issues with dropbox sucking up network time like an bandwidth vampire.
I can't figure out how to do it. I know it's easy, but can someone help me out? LOL.

Just select the picture, press menu and then delete.

Yeah I totally said the wrong thing. Not from the gallery, but when you have instant upload on and it uploads then to picasa. Sorry for the confusion.
I think you have to do it on the official Picasa website or Google plus.

Yeah this is what I can't figure out. I deleted the Google + account, but they are still showing on the phone in Picasa. I guess Ill try that next.
If you don't wan't your online photos to sync with your device, you can turn off sync via settings (settings -> sync -> Google account -> Google photos/picasa).
If you want to delete the photos, there is a button on google+ or picasa that will let you delete them.
go into the G+ app, or G+ on your computer, or the Picasa website. Sign in, delete the pictures, sign out.
Done.
uncheck google photos sync and then clear cache for gallery
Uncheck syns with google pictures in account settings, then wipe app data in \settings\apps\gallery. Unless you wipe gallery data, the images will shoe in the gallery.

I don't understand why people reply to the post and repeat what the person right above them said. But yeah, do what I said.. it should resolve all the problems OP is facing.
I am getting so frustrated with the stock gallery. I actually installed the 4.2 gallery so I can change my stupid wallpaper. I deleted the gallery cache and everything I try won't fix this junk. Deleting the cache for the gallery used to work but now it still acts real slow after. Does the gallery act up on custom roms also for anyone? If not I might get off of stock rooted and actually install a custom rom.
I have never had gallery problems at all. Ive set all my wallpapers with it. I also have over 700 pics and videos and it wont lag at all even with airview enabled.
Whats your problem specifically ? You just cant set wallpapers?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I get major lag (like the gallery takes up to a minute to generate my pictures) when I try to set a wallpaper from settings - Display - Wallpaper or when I open my sms app and try to attach a picture from there.
I never have lag if I go straight into my gallery. I can set wallpapers and share via sms from the gallery without lag.
QuickPic, ftw. Have not used stock gallery for more than 5 minutes total since purchase of Note2.
Slow to load, can't hide folders...
The sidebar feature is nice, but not worth it.

i saw the title and thought this had something to do with pirates.
This is probably happening because you have you google pic syncing and Dropbox and Facebook if you stop your gallery from syncing youll be good to go

Thank you for the advice. I just turned all the syncing off and my gallery still runs real slow.
It's never going to get faster.. It's garbage. Get quickpic and be done with it.
