So today on the g+app I went through and deleted all the pictures in the 'from your phone' album. As it had loads of blurry shots and old stuff.
And it deleted all the photos on my phone!
Anyone else had this?

That's what it does, delete is delete.

What you really want though is the deletes on the phone to get deletes from my Google + account.

It'd be nice if deleting from the phone didn't always delete from the account. I was pretty irked when that happened despite the fact that I wasn't logged into Google+

That's what happens. If you just go onto the web and delete the photos, they won't be deleted from the internal storage of the phone.
Doing so from the app, however, does delete the original photos from your device.

I downloaded a pic from my Gmail account and now it has it's own photo album, for some reason I can't delete the picture or the damn album??
I also have what looks like a Picasa album that I can't delete but I don't even have a Picasa account.
Any suggestions. The only pics I can delete are camera photos.
NM figured it out. Annoying.
What did you end up doing?

I'd like to know as well. I have a lot of folders that are empty but i can't get rid o, on both my Transformer and my Nexus
Yeah, I posted a photo to my Google + account and now I have a "posts" album in my gallery. I deleted the photo but the album still exists and it won't let me delete it.

I wanna have my dcim folder on my phone to stay backed up is there an app to do that?

If you use Google+, then instant upload works great. Dropbox also has its own camera upload feature. It'll upload all the pictures you currently have on your phone to your dropbox and will automatically upload new ones as you take them. Hope this helps!

Oh hmm I may have to make a drop box. Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
No problem!
I just use Google+ for my photo backups. I can delete them anytime I want. Plus if you ever have to reset your phone, your pics will show up in your gallery as soon as you sign in. Waay convenient.

I'd say dropbox is your best bet.
Why not just enable picasa in the gallery, or Google+? They both will automatically send your pics to the cloud. Even in real time as you take new photos.

How do I do that? Like I am apparently horrible at finding settings

I also suggest Google+ since it's integrated with your google account and (personal preference) I like having everything in one place. I've had some issues with dropbox sucking up network time like an bandwidth vampire.
I can't figure out how to do it. I know it's easy, but can someone help me out? LOL.

Just select the picture, press menu and then delete.

Yeah I totally said the wrong thing. Not from the gallery, but when you have instant upload on and it uploads then to picasa. Sorry for the confusion.
I think you have to do it on the official Picasa website or Google plus.

Yeah this is what I can't figure out. I deleted the Google + account, but they are still showing on the phone in Picasa. I guess Ill try that next.
If you don't wan't your online photos to sync with your device, you can turn off sync via settings (settings -> sync -> Google account -> Google photos/picasa).
If you want to delete the photos, there is a button on google+ or picasa that will let you delete them.
go into the G+ app, or G+ on your computer, or the Picasa website. Sign in, delete the pictures, sign out.
Done.
uncheck google photos sync and then clear cache for gallery
Uncheck syns with google pictures in account settings, then wipe app data in \settings\apps\gallery. Unless you wipe gallery data, the images will shoe in the gallery.

I don't understand why people reply to the post and repeat what the person right above them said. But yeah, do what I said.. it should resolve all the problems OP is facing.
My wife uploaded a video to facebook and then took it off online now the video is wiped from her phone. She's still on stock att rom... any ideas peeps???

Don't mean to lay blame but someone must have deleted the local copy by accident. I find it is too easy to delete from the camera app, I have deleted some files by accident.
Well see she uploaded it to facebook then deleted it off facebook then it was gone

most probable you would have used the new camera app (Which comes along with facebook 1.9.0) and shot the video.. it would have automatically synched and uploaded to facebook., and deleted vice-versa when deleted from facebook..
+1 above
Why didn't I think of that!

Been trying to delete my Picasa photos but they keep on appearing in my Gallery. No Picasa sync is set up. Even Google+ is off. Deleted the Gallery cache and Media Storage data but they are still there. I'm on stock yakju 4.1.2.
Any suggestions?

I tried that myself with no success. Even cleared data in the gallery only to have them reappear. Seems the only successful method is to remove them from Picasa. Definitely something that needs to be fixed. Maybe in 4.2...

Setup a firewall to block photo sync.......try droidwall.

Update: So, I checked my Google account, I did not have a profile photo. Uploaded one and it gets saved to my Picasa albums. Hit Refresh in Gallery (sync off), there goes the Picasa albums in Gallery again. Stupid. :banghead:
