After the update, my whites are no longer white. And, for whatever reason, today, the whites are especially yellowish. What is further strange, a reboot makes it somewhat better, but then after a while, the colors warm up a bit to the point where things begin to appear more yellow again. Very strange....
Sorry to hear this, my experience is the opposite of yours, the whites which had a yellow tinge before are now completely white with the 1.29 update. When holding the phone next to my Sensation, they now compare very well.
I made a thread the other day asking about peoples reports on yellow tint appearing more white after 1.29 update, it seems people were experiencing a change. I decided to try it with my screen having a yellow tint and did also see a change in more white after the update.
not find any yellow in white color in 1.29, as well as didnt find it in 1.26.
cant say anything about 1.28 because after buyin saw only 1.26 on charging and afterward 1.29.
i have H23 glamour gray from Germany.
PS: many people think this happends after phone overheated on heavily task with charging. cant confirm this too, played with charging around 30 min, and phone was hot (around 40 on celsius). still no yellowish tinge.

I think that may have been it. The phone was quite warm I remember when I experienced the reddish-yellow whites. Today, things have returned to normal.
flashed 1.29 europe ruu last night and have been playing real racing 2 whilst on charge. no yellow tint here

Hi Dudes,
I replaced my HTC One X today with a new one because the gsensor failed for some unknown reason. Anyway I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen. It almost looks like glue or a screen bleed, you can really see it on a white background or a grey background but also
Im unsure If i should see if it is glue and maybe it just needs to dry out by using the phone a lot for the next week or replacing it yet again.... Im starting to loose patience with the One X now.
Has anyone else had this green streak issue and is it normal?
Should I turn the brightness up to make for an hour and leave the screen running?
My old HTC Desire was more reliable than this....

Is it glue or something mate? Its odd.
Looks like everything else on the ONE X is working great now though. (touch wood)
Screen seems as excellent as ever. Just the yellow smear/streak.
Will leave it a few days and see what happens man.
in many discussion about this problem, peoples think that problem with glue.
And can appear when phone get hot.
not saw it on my phone when playing in terga games + charging in same time.
but my phone goes to me 2 week, may be glue well dried before was used

My phone heats up fine and no other yellow streaks appear (its not a spot but a streak). Its constantly there also. Will see how it goes in the next few days.
I ment to say that this yellow smear is allways on the screen but no more seem to appear when it heats up. I hope it goes away. Has anyone else had this small yellow smear issue on the screen?
I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen - It happends exactly the same to me , and what did i do was going back my phone today , and seller says that I don't believe it will disappear and gave me the new one , I'm happy with my new phone but it's grey , not beautiful white :/ , if u are able to return it , just go to return
Just received my second One X from amazon UK (first was sent back due to charging issues).
Been getting some weird things with the screen on this one, which I haven't heard of in the other threads. I have a fair amount of pixels on the screen that will flicker white on certain screens, particularly on the pull-down notification. The pixels seem to be roughly distributed along two vertical lines on the screen, and there's about 20-30, although it's hard to tell since they never flicker all at once. The white pixels don't show up in screenshots, so I don't think it's a software issue, although it's possible, I suppose.
They never show up on solid colors as far as i can make out, but i get them on the camera preview and in the notification drawer (seems to be that shade of grey combined with the fine texture that sets it off). Very occasionally I get it on the bubbles live wallpaper. I also get it when viewing screenshots of the notification pulldown, so it seems to be the colour/texture, not the actual window being drawn.
I can't tell if this is a software or hardware issue.. I've done a few reboots and a factory reset, which did absolutely nothing. It's always the same pixels, which suggests hardware to me, but then it's oddly specific circumstances that set it off.
Any ideas/anyone else getting similar issues?
Edit: re-reading your post it may not be what I thought. Info below for the "usual" screen flicker issue.
It's a well known issue that pretty much everyone has. The backlight flickers slightly due to a voltage drain when the CPU is busy, causing whites and greys to turn a slightly warmer "colour" for a moment.
It's fixed in the 1.29.11 (not 1.29.7) update which just rolled out in Europe and should follow in the UK in about 2 weeks. It takes up to 2 more weeks after the update for it to monitor the voltage of your individual screen and learn to compensate so the flicker goes away.
Yeah, it's not the backlight, it's literally single pixels flickering from their correct colour to white.
So I've been through the standard factory reset crap with customer service, and they're recommending I sent it in for repair. Has anyone had any luck with the repair centre (I'm in the UK)?
Not sure if it's even worth sending it back since I'm still not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. If it's a software issue, will they fix it, or will they just turn it back and go "nope, couldn't find anything"?
I have EXACTLY the same issue, but with two pixels only, I'm almost convinced it's a hardware fault because I'm on a custom rom and it's still there, I got mine without a warranty though so I'll have to deal with it, any suggestions other than acceptance?
I have same issue, i change the rom and now its fine. it was almost on 3 or 4 roms, and finally its disappear

Well thank you that's rather comforting to know, fingers crossed
Hey guys, today I noticed something weird on the left-est (if that's even a word) panel of my HOX. When i click on bottom half of the screen, a white pixel appears and stays there until i touch the screen again and sometimes the white pixel just flashes! This only happens on the 1st panel (from the left) and I don't know if it's just a glitch or a hardware problem. The thing is, this is my second HOX (I had another one for 1 week before replacing it (it had a small black circle-y spot) ) and I had it for more than 2 weeks and the returns policy of the store I bought it from says that they can't replace it if it's more than 2 weeks old. Any ideas if it's hardware or software related, or even ways to check so?
UPDATE:
I think you'd want to know that I have an HT23 model
I had a similar problem with a bright red pixel at the left of the center of the screen. It usually appeared when I am not touching the screen and disappears when I do. After the screen got a yellow tint that appeared next to the volume up button which got worse the hotter the phone got, I took it to the shop and they replaced the "touch, battery and speaker". Touch pretty much means screen as well, I have no idea why they changed the other 2.
It's definitely a hardware problem since I had a similar issue with a stock phone. Btw the yellow tint appeared after 5-6 months, the red pixel was there pretty much from the beginning.

So should I go and ask/demand for a replacement? It doesn't bother me, I don't even use that panel at all, what annoys me is the fact that this is the second HOX I've had and it also has a problem!
It's a hardware fault go and demand for a replacing (HT26+/SH26+).And, if someone later on (in this thread or else ware) suggest to use a software to fix it. Don't bother with it.
I have HT25 with yellow tint showing from time to time. It's annoying me, and still I didn't get the chance to give to to HTC care.

I guess Im just overreacting then. Funny cos yeknow how YouTube updated their app and when you tap on the search bar you see a plain white background (that if you paused search history). Well for me, I saw a kinda dark thick line running across the screen. Not obvious but a very very faint dark thick line.

I've got some burn in from using Waze as my navigation app for the past 9 months.
I'm facing near same problem...
My phone have very light black stripes on screen, especially at white backgrounds.
I use this phone for hours everyday since I got the phone, 1 year 3 months ago and don't have any similar problems.
Try downloading a video designed to free up pixels that are otherwise dead.
They're normally a few minutes long and alternate between bright red, green and blue at different intervals.

Does it really actually help clearing deat pixels?

Yes, I've used them previously on TVs, PSPs and phones - all successfully.
It may take multiple attempts but it should eventually bring them back..
Same here, status bar and the keyboard^^
I've noticed in the last few days if it's sunny out when using the phone outside the phone puts the brightness up to MAX and I get green, yellow lines all across the screen. If I manually lower the brightness a little it's all ok again. I imported the AL00.. I'm guessing Huawei won't fix it as it's an import... Anyone got any ideas?

No ideas but I noticed the lines too. It was a really bright sunny day and snow around. The stripes could be seen on the white screen only. It came as a huge surprise cause I haven't noticed any other screen error or malfunction. And screen test passed without any problem.
Same for me.. Only outside and with majority of screen being white. Normally they show up when unlocking and dissapear after a second or so, I think when I start to scroll or similar.. no one else?
It's one of the oled downsides. Check it with 5% grey picture or search on youtube to 5% or 10% grey test.

The first screen in that topic is what I have too on my Mate20X. It's a gamble. If you return it and swap it, you may get a worse unit.
