I've noticed in the last few days if it's sunny out when using the phone outside the phone puts the brightness up to MAX and I get green, yellow lines all across the screen. If I manually lower the brightness a little it's all ok again. I imported the AL00.. I'm guessing Huawei won't fix it as it's an import... Anyone got any ideas?

No ideas but I noticed the lines too. It was a really bright sunny day and snow around. The stripes could be seen on the white screen only. It came as a huge surprise cause I haven't noticed any other screen error or malfunction. And screen test passed without any problem.
Same for me.. Only outside and with majority of screen being white. Normally they show up when unlocking and dissapear after a second or so, I think when I start to scroll or similar.. no one else?
It's one of the oled downsides. Check it with 5% grey picture or search on youtube to 5% or 10% grey test.

The first screen in that topic is what I have too on my Mate20X. It's a gamble. If you return it and swap it, you may get a worse unit.

1) go to display settings and set sleep to never turn off and brightness to full
2) install 'dead pixel detect and fix' from market
3) open 'dead pixel detect and fix' select colors, custom then a nice bright yellow
4) once your screen is bright yellow put on charge and leave for the night
I'm unsure if this fixed my problem or just a coincidence that my screen got better over night anyway but I thought I would share to see if it helps anyone else.

This sort of trick helped me solve flickering but only temporarily.. I think yout problem will come back as well

It had been 2 days and is still good. I read up that a lot of one x's have the same problem, yellow smudges appears about 3 days after purchase but suppose to fade after about 2 weeks. So I don't think it will return this is just to speed things up a little.
I thought that it was due to hardware, but maybe not so much?
Well ill try to work on it for few days on full brightness, maybe it will reduce the glue grain, I noticed its on all one Xs they just vary in intensity
Sometimes pixels get stuck at a colour and flashing the area between different colours really fast can fix it.

Unfortunately my screen is yellow at the bottom and every pixel app I find has the menu bar there. What I did do though was leave chrome on the settings page and it did help to reduce it., however I've just been playing some fruit ninja. My phone got hot the touch screen stopped working correctly and the yellow is back worse than before
I am trying this now and will let it run overnight.
I currently have 2 yellow spots on the top of my screen. Hoping this will make them go away faster.

My yellow blobs was at the top of the screen, so the black menu bar at the bottom wasnt a concern for me. I am currently using tripndroids cm9 build that takes the black bar away and gives you full resolution use. Only attemp cm9 if your boot loader has allready been unlocked, so you can still replace your phone if things dont improve.
for anyone using cm9 they dont have the option to turn display sleep off completly, so i would recomend downloading an app callled 'screen on' that does the job from the market.
The yellow tint/spot isnt a hardware fault. It comes from poor manufacturing processing. If you squeeze hard on the edge of the screen for prolonged time, the yellow tint/spot appears. Once the pressure on the screen is normalized, the tint/spot will be gone. However, there is a chance that prolonged pressure will cause permanent damage, it is wise for you guys NOT to put your H1X into your jeans pocket!

That can be achieved by just clicking fix on the dead pixel app, when i attempted this for about 2 hours i never saw any changes as after just trying a constant yellow i instantly saw that my screen got brighter, whiter and the yellow smudges on top of my screen started to fade. I compare to my partners one x to check for improvements.
Any luck?

I do hope that this solution help you with that problem.. however there must be a reason why HTC help support keeping my HOX at their location , as far as I know they waiting for new battery as well as NEW LCD..according to that information must be smth wrong with LCD... (yellow dots of course)
So I need to switched back to my HP pre 3 for a while..
Hi i have the same problem with my HOX, my HOX is perfect except for the blue spot when i turn my screen brightness to full and use a black wallpaper you can see the blue spot, i dont know what i must to do because it is my second HOX and it took me 2 weeks to get a replacement unit from virgin if any body in here has experience with htc australia service centre please let me know thanks (i did try to use the app but no luck)

Alright -
I let it run for like 12 hours last night.
My yellow spots are about 75 percent gone!!!!
I am going to let it run again tonight and will give another update.
For those of you will yellow spots I would suggest giving this a shot. So far it seems to be working for me. Although I will keep an eye on it to see if it comes back or gets worse again.
Thanks!
any idea if this deals with the glue grain too?
I don't think the color really matters - what metters is that it is left alone AND getting warm.
I guess if you put a book on top of it while running a 3D game, 90% of the spots will be gone momentarily, but as soon as you start using it they will creep back because it is a lamination problem and not a screen problem...
And for those who claim their spots "disappeared" after a week - yes, they did disappear for me one day, but were back once I started using it heavily.
the spots problem will not appear for those who have a flawlessly fit screen
this is why i advice those with lamination issues to get rid of the phone, lamination issues = spots, uneven whites and chance of dust get in
Does anyone have any further evidence that this works? I've got a very light yellow haze/spot in the bottom right hand corner of my screen which I'm not too happy about.
Hoping that it does work because I don't really want to go through the hassle of acquiring a replacement. I will do if the problem is terminal though.
Thanks.
I don't have the yellow spots. But the top part of my screen has a yellow tint. This is my second phone and its perfect apart from this. Only had it a couple of days though so I'll give it time to see if it will fade.
I can only do a swap once more and I don't want to end up with a worse phone and have to send it away for repair.
Dilemma!

Just received my second One X from amazon UK (first was sent back due to charging issues).
Been getting some weird things with the screen on this one, which I haven't heard of in the other threads. I have a fair amount of pixels on the screen that will flicker white on certain screens, particularly on the pull-down notification. The pixels seem to be roughly distributed along two vertical lines on the screen, and there's about 20-30, although it's hard to tell since they never flicker all at once. The white pixels don't show up in screenshots, so I don't think it's a software issue, although it's possible, I suppose.
They never show up on solid colors as far as i can make out, but i get them on the camera preview and in the notification drawer (seems to be that shade of grey combined with the fine texture that sets it off). Very occasionally I get it on the bubbles live wallpaper. I also get it when viewing screenshots of the notification pulldown, so it seems to be the colour/texture, not the actual window being drawn.
I can't tell if this is a software or hardware issue.. I've done a few reboots and a factory reset, which did absolutely nothing. It's always the same pixels, which suggests hardware to me, but then it's oddly specific circumstances that set it off.
Any ideas/anyone else getting similar issues?
Edit: re-reading your post it may not be what I thought. Info below for the "usual" screen flicker issue.
It's a well known issue that pretty much everyone has. The backlight flickers slightly due to a voltage drain when the CPU is busy, causing whites and greys to turn a slightly warmer "colour" for a moment.
It's fixed in the 1.29.11 (not 1.29.7) update which just rolled out in Europe and should follow in the UK in about 2 weeks. It takes up to 2 more weeks after the update for it to monitor the voltage of your individual screen and learn to compensate so the flicker goes away.
Yeah, it's not the backlight, it's literally single pixels flickering from their correct colour to white.
So I've been through the standard factory reset crap with customer service, and they're recommending I sent it in for repair. Has anyone had any luck with the repair centre (I'm in the UK)?
Not sure if it's even worth sending it back since I'm still not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. If it's a software issue, will they fix it, or will they just turn it back and go "nope, couldn't find anything"?
I have EXACTLY the same issue, but with two pixels only, I'm almost convinced it's a hardware fault because I'm on a custom rom and it's still there, I got mine without a warranty though so I'll have to deal with it, any suggestions other than acceptance?
I have same issue, i change the rom and now its fine. it was almost on 3 or 4 roms, and finally its disappear

The screen on my note 3 suddenly showed a green hue color. I took some screen shots to show but after I pressed the power button(standby) to turn screen off then back on again the green hue disappeared?
So thinking the pictures would still prove the issue, no I was wrong the screen captures I took with the green hue are also fine . Not sure whats going on...Perhaps it is hardware related hence why it does not show in the captures. Basically all the blacks had a green hue to them / in fact were green .
Today is the 14th day for me to return or exchange the device at t mobile. Please advise. I did install some dark wallpaper apps but deleted them yesterday, was using normal stock wallpapers. I am not rooted.
Do you think it is hardware related? I believe if it was software related then the screen captures ( which I took when screen went green) would also show the green hue.
Had the same problem here but mine had a pink hue.Try to reset the colors. Just type *#0*# on your phone dialer and use the 3 colors for 5 minutes each, it will reset the pixels.

It went away when I pressed it on standby and back again.
What gets me concerned is that when I took a screen shot when it was green it didn't show on the picture after it remedied itself.

So have the problem gotten worse since then?
I have seen it now and then. Often happened when I was on the phone and closed and opened the lid.
Happened now that I opened the lid after attaching it to the charger.
Should I expect it to get worse, and therefore return it for a new one or will it be a rare bug now and then?
Reading mode enabled?

Hi,
I bought mine in October 4th 2013, has occurred twice so far. Taking screen shots does not show it. I am thinking it is a software glitch.
Reading mode was not enabled. All dark areas of screen goes green.

If you are doing a screen shot, it is reading the state from the device and saving it. So later if you look at that screen shot and it looks okay it most likely is not software. If you look at the screen shot while the unit is displaying the green look and it looks right, then you most likely have a software issue.
Sounds like a hardware issue or perhaps some weird mode being set by software. I still think it is hardware though.

I perhaps hoped that you had answered my question when I first posted as this occurrence first happened on the 14th day of my purchase, so I had a choice to return to T Mobile store for swap out. Either way, only occurred twice so far, so I am not worrying too much about it. Shelf life for phone for me is approx 12 months max, so all is good thus far. Pressing the standby button afaik cleared it up at the times it occured.
I too have had this happen twice now and months in between. Happened after mj5 update could that be a cause

Doubt it, as mine is stock N900T that has no updates as of yet.
The first time I rebooted and it went away. The second time it was only like that for a few seconds and cleared up on its own. I'm on the at&t version

Mines does this once every few days apart, if I just turn off the screen and turn it back on it goes away. I also took screen shoots but they show fine in the gallery. I only seen it once on my wife's note.
I have exactly the same problem, the green hue appear, and turning off the screen or dial *#0*# and select one of the color to test the screen can clear that away. it happens once per one or two weeks for me. I'm worried that may be a hardware issues and that is a symptom before the device fail. Does any of you have this happened then your phone became not working ?
btw, It's seems happens after I changed to a magnetic flip case ,not sure if that's related, will try not using that case and see if that will gone away. Are you guys having this problem also using a case with magnetic flip ?
Hi, maybe someone have encouter similar issue and have and could comfirm if there could be anything else i could do except replacing whole lcd+touch, which cost pretty much same as new unit
My my screen is showing some weird artefacts on screen, at first there is not much but its getting worse after few muniutes of use. If i lock and unlock the device i show white light bleed on left side of the screen (first picture) then if i lock again, wait for a while it disappears, but some artefacts and color pixel start to show on left side (second pic). After a while some strong white lines apear, always in the some spot, but if i put down the device for few minutes it desappers. Reattaching battery didn't help, i guess thats not the case. Could this be a faulty LCD connector? Or the screen is dying.. ? Definitly not a software bug, i just upgraded to 6.0 and even in bootloader mode while upgrading there were those two lines (last pic)
What screen brightNess do you use. It's recommended to use 20% to avoid screen burn in

Hmm.. since i usually use the tablet in bright locations its probably set to higher then 50%, at least..
There is one more thing, after like 10 minutes of use, almost all the above issues stops, only thing that stays is the "burned like" vertical stripes, barely visible, on about 2/3 of the screen.
I does not make the table unusable but its quite annoying...
could this be affect of screen burn in ?
i think its just a bad screen from a begining cuz i have tab s 8.4 for almost 2 years now and i gave it to my brother for a year and he was in Tenerife...temperatures there are high so i doubt its a screen burn since my tablet is still ok even after one year at Tenerife with probably brightnes always on 100%...just sharing my xperiance cheers guys
Sometimes when I take my phone off the charger, the screen is so dim I can barely see it. I have to fumble my way through the menus to get to the adjust brightness screen. What's weird is that once I finally get to that screen, it brightens on its own. I have played with different brightness levels and watchfaces, but they don't seem to matter. Has anyone else had this problem?
I first noticed this on 1.5 a few weeks ago, even after a full reset, and am now seeing it on DP4 too. My watch is only six months old and does have an extra year of warranty, but I'm hoping for a solution so I don't have to get it replaced.
Not sure if it's related, but many times when I put it on the charger, the screen alternates between the charging screen and normal ambient screen every second or two. Could it be my charger that's causing this issue?

FYI, this was apparently caused by the app "Wear Brightness Control" from the Play Store. I uninstalled it from my watch and phone and haven't had the problem since. I have emailed the developer to see if he is aware of the problem and can fix it.
