Hi all,
My friend has dropped his phone ans broke his volume button. I would like to know how to change the volume. I have been asking him to take the phone back to vodafone to send it back.

Hello guys
Me and friends using DHDs are having the same problem.
Sometimes hangup the calls with cheeks or ear or ....
Especially it is annoying then you in rush with something, receive important call, hold your phone between shoulder and ear and .............. after some time you accidentally press END CALL button.
It is the biggest minus having touchscreen phone.
The thing is that screen turn offs after some time of talking but it turns on again as you are moving around.
Did anyone find out how to solve this misery?
Would be grateful.
Regards
Pashkustva
Sounds like an issue with the proximity sensor, if I hold mine wrong I tend to turn on loudspeaker with my face. It's tweaked in some of the ROM's I believe - are you running a ROM or still on Stock?
Hi, thanks for responce.
I have rooted sence 3.0 Rom by nitr0. But this problem is not dependant on my rom as before i had original virgin mobile branded rom and the problem still persists.

Are there any way of adjusting proximity sensor?

Definitely a proximity issue. On CM7 I also had the issue of putting calls on hold with my cheek! You can remove the hold button in the call options.
yes. my screen turns off only when i close proximity sensor totally. though it should do it in a distance.
Unfortunately indigolemon's posted app does not work on my kernel. as my radio is 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M. and Kernel 2.6.35.10.

In cm7, this accidental hold was a b**ch before i removed it; but it took me quite some time to figure it out

I'm in Bangladesh so if anyone can guide me on DIY project it would be a great help.

Parts are available online,, Google replacing it and you can find good videos on how to replace etc.
In the mean time, use a toothpick to move the volume buttons.
I have found the volume button part online but u need a flex cable for the volume button which I cannot find online

the volume buttons that come from factory are some what of bad quality they keep breaking and just to let u know flex cable has nothing to do with volume buttons, and as for replacing it u can do it without opening the phone but its complicated u can end up breaking the new volume buttons, better is to take of the back cover of the phone n thn replace the volume button.. the hard side goes towards the uper side of the phone n the soft side towards the lower side
on my note 2 had it for a few months the power button has stooped working when pressing wont shut screen off and hold it down for a long time for the reboot option to appear
Flash firmware again... (At least a try even though it seems useless, who knows?)
If not, send back to warranty...

Please get it checked at the service centre. Once i had the same issue on my nexus s. First the power button was not working then the motherboard got short circuit and phone never switched on.

I'm having the same issue, and i didn't want to start a new thread because of something so small.
But I unlocked my bootloader, this clearly is a hardware issue right, you think they will be nagging about it when I send it back?
