Power button - HTC One V

I am facing some problem with the power button, have to press it hard to on and off and sometimes have to press 3-4 Times to on. Is anyone having the same issue ?

Yes buddy the same problem..for now only two solutions-either send it to hTC to get it repaired or use sweep to wake...

Thanks for the reply.. Just wanted to confirm about the issue.. As my phone is under warranty i will better send it to Service centre.

I'm having the same issue, and i didn't want to start a new thread because of something so small.
But I unlocked my bootloader, this clearly is a hardware issue right, you think they will be nagging about it when I send it back?

but i think i used a hard case for my phone and that damaged the power as well as the volume keys!

What if i sent my one v directly to service centre? I ll flash any of the sense ROM & send it cuz it's an hardware issue

Did they repair it for you with unlocked Bootloader?

It is most probably a hardware issue. I see a similar problem every now and then.
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16890542
But, be careful when you try to fix things yourself. You may cause more damage than you can imagine if you do something wrong.

Capacitive buttons help

So here's my scenario, I let a friend of mine borrow my phone for a couple of hours for work and ever since he returned it my 4 capacitive buttons have been acting up, my menu button presses itself it seems and I cannot hold down the home button to review my recent apps or access the task manager because my phone reboots itself . I do not know what he did or if he messed around with it but according to him he didn't do anything. Is there anyway anyone can help me remap the buttons to stock? Any help is appreciated, Thank You!

Maybe liquid damage?

I'd try an odin to factory reset and see if it's software related. If its still acting up after a reset then it'll be a hardware problem.

I think its software related because my search button vibrates once on press and then it vibrates again on release, do any of you guys know how to remap the buttons?

If you're not rooted, have you tried doing a reset?
phone settings > privacy > factory data reset
will wipe your data but agree with the earlier posters... if doing a factory reset doesn't fix it, it's probably a hardware issue (perhaps water damage).
Are you running maddogins lockscreen mod?

Time to tell your friend to buy you a new phone!
Sounds like LD. Try the reset if you can, and hope for the best.

I've done a hard reset a couple of times and the problem is still there. I'm starting to think it is hardware related, the weird thing is that I've had the phone since it was released and it never gave me these problems until recently..

I found this to be true so i uninstalled and home button fixed!

There are ALOT of forums discussing this issue, when you hang up do not hit the home button or back, let the phone return to the home screen on its own and this is the work around for this particular issue...

Device not waking up

Anyone else having an intermittent issue with the device not waking up via the power button? This happens from time to time. Holding the power button will still reset the device. Plugging in a USB connection will wake. However hitting the power button yields no result. The device still responds to incoming notifications. Sometimes I can wait a few seconds and it will work properly. It's rather odd.

Note 2 does not POWER OFF

Hello there. Today I noticed a strange problem with my NOTE 2. It does not POWER OFF, instead it RESTARTS. I also tried pulling battery out and re-inserting. Without pressing power button, it automatically turns on. Checked the power button, its very much okay.
My phone is totally at STOCK.
Can someone tell me, what could be the PROBLEM?
