I called the us HTC warranty line and they don't deal with international warranty from Canada for my international one x.. my power button is sticky so when I turn the screen on sometimes my phone resets coz power is pressed down... And also a yellow spot on the LCD on the bottom left of the screen... Anyone know who I should contact?

I guess he means SIM unlocked, and as far as I know the only way to check it to try some different SIMs in it.

Yeah, they used to call SIM unlocked iPhones Factory Unlocked. i.e Put any sim-card anywhere in the world and it will work.
But if op wants to know about bootloader then like *elmo* said, hold the power key & volume down for a few seconds, you'll see the bootloader.
Hi guys, my HOX has developed a fault on the screen, there's a small patch which is yellow. Its more noticeable when there's a white screen
Only thing is, my bootloader is unlocked. Will HTC still sort it for me?

Locked full stock
I've send mine too (unlocked), they've changed many things including screen, but now when phone is very hot screen in upper part feels soft :/. On screen with yellow spots there was no loose :|.
Hopefully being unlocked won't make much of a difference then
You from the UK Mando?

I just called HTC in sweden and asked about the screen having yellow spots on white backgrounds, he knew what I was talking about and said just send it in, and it was no problem with it being unlocked.
My one x screen is dead and black. Touch controls and radios work fine. The local HTC authorized service center says that the problem is with the handset and it needs to be replaced. But they don't process the warranty of the handset which is not bought from them. I need it to send it internationally so if anyone knows where to send it. I am from Pakistan.
My girlfriend upgraded from HTC Desire to HTC One XL and she's never liked it.
Almost straight after she got it she accidentally dropped it from the car to the kerb and the screen cracked, but she carried on using it anyway.
It has a problem with the SIM card is not detected at least once a day and she has to reboot the phone to get it to detect it. This seems to be a design fault because lots of people are having it.
Ideally I want to sell the phone and get her a Samsung Galaxy SIII mini. I can get the screen fixed because the phone is insured, but then HTC might not accept the phone back because of the warranty being void. Or I can send the phone back to HTC but they might claim that dropping it has broken the SIM reader.
Well for starters, you could post this in the right device forum. One X and One XL...HUGE difference bro

There is no forum for XL, unless I'm blind. I thought the XL was just the branding they used in the UK.
In markets outside of North America where the LTE version is sold alongside the international GSM version, the One X LTE is branded as the HTC One XL.

The X is the branding they used in the US, any X with LTE is XL, correct forum is the AT&T HTC One X forum.

if the phone was insured, you shouldn't be worried about screen. if you unlocked bootloader you only voiding your warranty
actually it depends what your insurance policy is. hope you'll get it fixed for free

I was using my phone then I put it in my back pocket to put groceries in the car. After I got in the car I took my phone out and the display was messed up. When I press the power button it fades from a dark screen to the a all white screen.
I was just wondering if the damage would be covered by htc one advantage
You don't need HTC advantage for that as it's not a broken (physical) screen. This should go under warranty
Do I go through HTC to get that or my carrier?

How long has it been since you bought it? If you're within 2 weeks go to your carrier. If it's been longer than 2 weeks then go with HTC.
okay thank you
OH, I bought the phone through Amazon, can I still go through verizon?
You take to Verizon and claim warranty for the phone. They would effect the repairs
