Cyanogenmod9 and Google Wallet - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Ok, So i'm running CM9 on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and I have google wallet installed, I can open it, even got my free 10bucks when I setup my google prepaid card however I try and use it at paypass locations and can never get it to scan.
Any advice? NFC is turned on btw

I had this happen to me once also, but rebooting the phone fixed it.

Secure Element Prevention?

Okay, so I've become increasingly paranoid of the SE error that's been plauging various Nexus's over the internet. What I can gather from these is that the phone was either:
1.Not properly wiped between ROMs
2.They tried restoring Google Wallet from a backup
3.They flashed the App from the ZIP/APK (Unofficial)
4.They used a preinstalled version of Google Wallet on the flashed ROM
So, now that we can officially install Google Wallet from the Market, do you think that it should be safe to switch between ROMs? I used Google Wallet on my first GNex and it's been one of the best parts about this phone. I would really not like to lose this functionality on a device I dropped $600 on...
Yeah, thing is when you "reset" wallet to flash a new rom it locks you out of prepaid. Some chuckle-head with creative fear mongering has got the bloggers excited over some security crap. If I lost my device I would be more worried about my device that the Happy Meal they could buy at McDonalds with my prepaid card!

So how do you flash a new ROM without getting locked out of your prepaid card?

you don't. at least while google gets its **** together (properly in a few weeks).
Wait, it only locks you out of prepaid? Not the Citibank and total Google Wallet functionality?

yes only prepaid. afaik citibank works fine.
If you get the "secure element is not responding" error you're dine with Google wallet until you get a new phone. I'm in that position and that's what Google and Samsung told me

well i dont know if this has been found out before, but here is my story
i got the hong kong nexus gsm back when it came out here in dallas tx. flashed it to stock google yakju. i used the wallet app apk and everything worked great. when the update came out it stopped working.
go to settings, apps, all. go to wallet, clear data. go to google account manager, clear data. go to google services framework, clear data. once u do that go to about phone check for update. it will have some weird 1969 date. once it checks open wallet and now it works. only thing is pre paid error when adding card
so i flashed to the new takju and same thing. followed thoes steps and same thing.
as far as i can get with wallet

If you are getting an error when adding your prepaid Google card and you previously had one activated, you need to call Money Network and have them do a master reset on your account. The number is 855-896-0693.

Will try thanks
Unsuccessful
I tried, but it did not work for me. I'm still getting the "secure element..." message. Has anyone tried activating with a different battery?
The battery is an antenna. Nothing more. Secure Element lives in your phone.

gonna have to get a replacement...that's what I did
Does the master reset really work? I tried this from an apk long time ago and now it won't work with the market installed app and won't allow me to add a prepaid card.

I got this today, stuck at "Initializing your device"
I did Wipe Google Wallet from within the app, and after which i went back to google wallet and it's stuck there.
Stays the same after reflashing 4.0.4.

Unlink Google Wallet

i'm not sure if this is the right place to be asking this, but here goes.
so i had a modified version of Google Wallet installed on my rooted Galaxy Nexus. well, i then started to prep the phone to be sold, so i wiped the phone, and flashed a ROM. not realizing until after that i guess there's some weird authentication things with Google Wallet? or something?
well anyways, i didn't make a nandroid backup because my primary device is my (non-rooted) Galaxy S3.and so my Galaxy Nexus was more like a music and games player with a working Google Wallet.
i haven't tried this yet, but would i be able to install Google Wallet again on the phone, then unlink/reset it, and then wipe the phone?

google wallet is unique to the device b/c of the 'secure element'. If you didn't break the secure element, then a re-install of wallet should be fine.
You may have just encountered the secure element error where you didn't restore Google Wallet completely before you wiped your device. If that really is the case, you won't be able to use Google Wallet on it ever again unless somebody devises a fix for it.
I tried to install Google wallet to the phone on the same ROM and different ROMS.
I'm getting the your device isn't supported error now. I've tried 2 different APK files, and I can't download it from Play store.
Any suggestions?

Device isn't supported just means that you are rooted - doesn't effect functionality...
Correct unsupported device is normal, that means your phone is rooted and money market is not responsible for any loss of money because they feel that a rooted device is less secure. The secure element issue is when your device is broken and the wallet will never work again. At this point your perfectly fine and just like everyone else. If you flash stock and lock the bootloader your unsupported device message should go away.

the only thing that weirds me out though, is that i had Google Wallet working on it while rooted, but now it's not working.
before, when it was working, that dialog would come up, but then still let me use the app. now it's just auto closing after the alert dialog.
guess i shouldn't worry about it too much since i'm trying to sell it.
Please see wallet.google.com
You can remove all devices, and as soon as the device opens the Google Wallet app, it blows itself up!

Google knows my location, play apps are broken... HELP!!

Hi all,
Somehow my google wallet app on my nexus 7 stopped booting and instead gave me a compatibility app error. I activated my tab using VPN to receive 25 dollar credit and this caused that all US-Only apps appeared permanently on my app drawer. They were never frozen unlike on my GNex, which wasn't activated via VPN. Therefore I was able to boot all the US-only play apps without using VPN, I even setup Google Wallet via my local WiFi. But now nothing works. Even when connected via US VPN and marketenabler set to US Google Apps keep denying. The apps did not auto-update afaik. I updated my rom yesterday but Google Wallet still worked this afternoon. On my Gnex wallet also works, although I have to unfreeze it first and then use the VPN/Enabler method. Anyone a solution for this? I'm running ParanoidAndroid. Maybe it has something to do with the UI settings?

Wallet issue

So I'm having trouble getting Wallet setup on my Galaxy Nexus...works fine on my Nexus 7.
I can setup the app, but when it says 'setup required' under the card, it always fails to add card. See attached photo.
I've tried resetting the wallet app. I've restored to stock, flashed factory images. I'm unrooted. Can seem to get this fixed. Any advice?

I have the GSM version...
So I called Google Wallet. They told me that the UNLOCKED GSM Galaxy Nexus is NOT SUPPORTED to run on Google Wallet! The new app makes this so. ONLY the Sprint version of the phone is supported! This can't be right can it? Two guys in Google Wallet support said this, including the manager. Any advice? Is this really true?
I'm running it just fine on the unlocked gsm with at&t, don't know what to tell you

GSM should be supported despite what they said.
Beamed from Maguro
I use it on unlocked GSM on T-Mobile.
Right! I know. So I'm getting this error I posted about whenever I try to setup. Makes NO sense whatsoever. I've reset my phone like 10 times and doesn't work. Tried adding different cards, etc. Tried to setup without my sim card inserted even! Still no go.
just set mine up. GSM unlocked phone from google. Unsupported Device Policy message on top of screen during set up. Set up went ok, it picked up my card number automatically. "Learn more" next to unsupported device msg linked to message:
"Some users may disable important security mechanisms in order to gain system-level "root" access to their device. We strongly discourage doing so if you plan to use Google Wallet. We are unable to support devices with unatuhorized operating systems as the security layers of the device may be limited."
After setup it starts and appears to be functioning, but nothing to try it on. Still has the unsupported device msg also.
Unlocked and rooted my phone, running stock 4.1.
So some of you have actually made purchases with wallet? I have tried at different stores like Best Buy and Home Depot and it connects, but won't let me make my purchase. I have that $50 from buying the phone I need to spend, but can't get it to work anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions?
Me too, on Sprint rooted phone

I just got off the phone with Wallet specialist. He said Wallet would not work on my Galaxy Nexus that I unlocked and rooted. I am running the stock Jelly Bean, but alas, no Wallet. I might as well uninstall it. Bummer.

I think the Wallet guys have no clue what they are doing, support-wise. It's a massive fail imo
Just installed Wallet on my unlocked, rooted Galaxy Nexus. Everything went fine. Credit card added with no problem. Says I'm all set up, but haven't used it yet. I get the "Unsupported device" message but I'll believe that if and when it fails. Note that if you have certain parts of Google apps frozen, uninstalled, or blocked with a firewall, Wallet won't install. PS: Take anything a sales rep says with a grain of salt.
