[Q] My One X declared DOA - HTC One X

I ve returned my X because of screen flicker and i also had dust underneath the digitizer. Service confirmed that i ve had issues with display and declared my X DOA. They also said that my phone wasnt repaired and are now returning it to the shop the phone was bought. Will I get a new phone or what next?
Thank you!

talk to the place you bought it from and ask for tracking or a date on the new phone or a refund. if they don't answer correctly, go to your bank or talk to your credit company. if you like, you can have it shipped to me and i can inspect it for you to make sure it's ok before you get another bad one.

Why is it not under warranty may I ask?
bcos i am in Qatar, and i was so frustrated so i opend the back panel and take out mother board and cleaned it with alchohel. My phone is still working but it is still rebooting on due to over heat.If you know the place where i can get the new board pls let me know..
I am in similar situation as yours. Random reboots and no warranty. I asked the local HTC service, and they told me they currently don't have any in stock, but are expecting them. When I asked about the approximate price, he said it will probably be 70-80% of the price of a new device. So, this sucks for both of us
I am thinking to use this device as little as possible, for as longest as possible, and then buy a new one from another manufacturer. I lost trust at HTC, this is my second HTC device - second one with huge problem.
maybe sell it on ebay, or try trading for something else here on the Marketplace?
worth trying.. at the moment I am trying to sell my Desire.. but no luck £230, anyone? perfect condition! (will ship anywhere!)
hope this helps!
mine is the same case here.. bought it in the UK now I'm in India. Searched on the net only to find it will cost $500, and at that price I can get a brand new Desire S.. So trying to sell it on ebay.. anybody interested?
Maybe try finding a Desire on eBay with a broken screen that you could take the mobo from?
Guessing that would work out cheaper than buying a new motherboard.

out of warranty charges

hi,
im hesitant to buy the HOX international version because the grey market importers and HTC will void the warranty period (for root users)
1. Any idea how much HTC will charge for out of warranty period?
2. in the US (preferably Chicago), what are the alternative and trusted smartphone service online or store shop that offer repair service for HOX International version?

Get it from an online retailer that accepts returns. If you notice it has problems return in. If it does not have any problems within the accepted return period then I doubt it will have in the long run. HTC accepts to repair the one x even if u live in chicago and bought it in the green market, imean grey market

thanks for your reply but i think a rooted h1x will be in an out of warranty charges repair service. example is screen damage, liquid spill and drop.
basically, im kind of asking how much would be the possible charge price?
iphone 4s out of warranty charge price is $ 199
i wish HTC America has good customer service repair for international purchased device

[Q] HTC One X from the UK, warranty in Germany

Hey guys,
Last year on the 20th April I bought my HTC One X at Carphone Warehouse in England. In May I have had the first problems with the phone (yellow spot in the lower left corner and a white spot in the middle of the screen), later the GPS stopped working.
Now I live in Germany and I received my HTC One today, so I finally want to get my One X repaired so I can sell it.
Does anyone know how to do this? Will the German warranty service repair my phone or will I have to send it to the UK?
I also don't have the original box of the phone as it is still in my flat in the UK. Is the phone alone in a basic box with a copy of my invoice enough or will they require the original box (because of the IMEI number on the box or these little stickers to proof it is indeed my phone)?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
There will probably be a charge like 30euro or something. I guess HTC Repair centre in Germany would know.
I had my X repaired couple of weeks ago here in Finland. It was bought from Sweden, but it didn't cost me anything to get it fixed. I took it to local shop that sells mobile phones, with copy of my invoice and without box, and it was fine.

I got my UK phone repaired in Finland as well without any hassle.
HTC has unified warranty inside EU.

[Q] HTC advantage for cracked Screen [India]

My HTC One M8 fell from second floor today. The screen got cracked . It was purchased in UAE less than six months before. Do you think it will be covered under HTC Advantage screen replacement here in India.???

I looked on HTC's site in India and couldn't find a section on the warranty. You can try contacting them through online support here: http://www.htc.com/in/support/htc-one-m8/
HTC's warranty page on the US site states that the terms on that page only apply to US customers: http://www.htc.com/us/go/customer-advantage-warranty/

Looks like there is no HTC advantage program in India
Took it to the service center. They inspected it and gave an estimate of Rs.6500. Told that they would call after 4-5 days and inform the actual cost.
And I don't have an image of the cracked screen

The advantage program's replacing damaged phones in the first 6 months is only available in the US.
Total bullsh*t I know. I bent mine after 4 1/2 months while it was in my pocket, and I ended up straightening it myself once I got a repair quote from HTC. They said they'd have to replace the motherboard too, even though my phone still works fine, even after another month and a half. I'm taking it to a private repair shop I got a quote from to get the back case replaced soon for much cheaper.

Buyers beware! Used phones being sold as 'new' on ebay

So Im on my second 'new' HTC 10 from ebay. First one was simply an open box to unlock listing. Not bad since it only takes like 5 min at most to unlock a phone. Nope phone came with nicks and scratches on the casing and screen. Didnt want to deal with it so I sent it back. Ordered another one 'brand new sealed in box'. Wrong again. Another shoddy box with chinese knock off accesories but atleast the phone was mint. After having problems connecting to LTE i decided to do a imei/serial number check to see if I probably recieved some weird non us compatible phone. Low and behold phone is a japan version with HTC warranty repairs for water damage. So now to return this one.
So if youre in a market for a new phone, ask for the imei before shipping and run it thru a HTC warranty checker such as imei.info
Either way if it comes in non HTC packaging, eg texured stickers on the box as opposed to the pressed textures of an oem htc box, chinese accesories like chargers with the writing all crooked and a generic sim removal tool instead of the tiny and square htc tool USE PRECATION. Sellers ive delt with so far are AMPM and x-channel on ebay.
Again BEWARE of used phones being passed as new.
Also does anyone have any links to brand new phones? They are non existent in the US and Amazon had them listed a couple months ago
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01G1NHAYI/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all
There are a couple New listings there on Amazon still.
Both for Grey and Silver.
Is the 10 even made anymore? Why would you buy an old phone new?
Also, where is your negative feedback on these sellers, especially the one that barely has any feedback?
Yes, always IMEI search; the phone can be blacklisted becasuse someone didn't pay their bill/fulfill their contract. I provide that information when I sell my phones on Craigslist.
this is common sense

The HTC 10 isn't made any longer. But there could be leftover inventory not yet sold. Overall it's a very good phone and could be had for a lot less than a U11. The only trouble is, the HTC 10 is a crap-shoot on reliability. There have been enough reports of this battery issue where the phone suddenly shuts off when the battery level is somewhere down below half, and then gets caught a rebooting loop. If the phone is fully charged, you won't run into this issue. So, it's easy for a used/refurbished HTC 10 to be sold without the problem revealed upfront. Either a seller would confirm the issue doesn't exist, or you get it with a warranty. HTC has not formally acknowledged the issue. And apparently there's no way to know if your phone is a time bomb waiting to suffer the same fate.
Amazon is turning into eBay now. There are tons of counterfit goods being sold on Amazon. With a recent ruling, they can NOT be held responsible for these items, even if they fulfill shipping them from their warehouses. I just got a suspected used phone that was listed as NEW on Amazon, and it was even PRIME! Very sad that you can no longer trust Amazon for a hassle-free, no b.s. shopping.
