I wanted to root my kindle fire so i followed the instructions in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
(Kindle Fire utilities)
The procedure worked perfectly but...several apps tells me that the device is not rooted and the file system is read only.
I downloaded OTA rootkeper and that's what I see:

}
The device is rooted but I don't have any permission?
So I wanted to root because I wanted the Google Play marketplace and the tool has failed because I see every google app but the marketplace (yes I'm using a custom launcher).
Now I want to UNroot, just turn to the out-of-the-box defaults and be able to view my amazon prime videos.
I used the adb method to unroot the device from the windows command prompt but it says that I can't make any changes, again, because I have no permission (read only).
Can you please help me to get rid of this?
Thanks
The only way to 'unroot' that I know of is reflashing the stock software from amazon... get TWRP on it and try that.

From the way you explain, I'm sure that your KF is rooted but Superuser is not is *not* install. So just install it.
adb install Superuser.apk
To unroot, remove Superuser, remove /system/xbin/su, and rename /system/bin/check_rooted.bak to check_rooted

Hi,
I checked many articles on xda about it, but still nothing-
Problem is - when I check root perm. (root checker) it;s say me - cong. your phone have a root perm; ok, but when I want to update binaries via superuser of super su, it's going ok, but then : getting root permission - failure.
Whats there going on, have I to unlock bootloader, than root again?
It's update after OTA
stock: 4.2.2 / 4.18.401.2
kern: 3,1.10-g7f360be
superCID, S-Off
Thanks

As of now, I'm trying to unbrick my kindle fire 1st generation, but my computer isn't recognizing it as ADB, only as Android, is there anyway to get it recognized as ADB so I can install twrp and flash a rom?

Try updating the driver in driver settings. That was the problem with my PC once. I just updated and ADB was recognized

Nope, but thank you anyway, the problem is that my kindle fire has no os and it's just stuck at the stock boot up screen without any recovery...
You need a Fastboot cable/adapter/etc.
You can make one yourself by soldering 4th contact/the one with the missing spot to the 1st contact (red wire/power wire).
And then you can use whatever to recover.
AND make sure you use Kindle Fire FIRST GENERATION SOFTWARE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL BRICK AGAIN, AND THEN, COMES JTAG.

This is the guide to root Multiphone Pap5300duo and 4500 running on stock 4.1.2 firmware v.1.0.16
first ensure you have drivers for prestigio, you can get them here
Enable USB Debugging in phone (settings/developer options/tick usb debugging)
Phone will AUTOMATICALY install it's own ADB Driver.
If U have any other driver installed remove it
Unplug phone, and leave usb debuging on
Install MOBOROBO tool
Plug in prestigio device
Wait untill program recognises your device
Unplug device
Step 2:
Install VROOT 1.60 English
Run program and leave it to update on 1.70
Now plug your device
If everything is ok You will get progress like on the picture
View attachment 2368233
Press ROOT, the green button,
Device will now reboot
If all went ok, after reboot, you will get pic like this
View attachment 2368244
Congrats your Prestigio is now rooted
SuperUser manager is on chinese language
For enabling root permission after popup window click on the right button

after achieving root you can speed up your device with set cpu aplication
you can download the Set cpu v 3.1.0 apk here
just give the root permision to set cpu and set minimal and maximum cpu to bigger value, careful it will decrease battery life
recovery custom
thanks for the guide. a question: with this procedure, you install the custom recovery?
Worked for Prestigio 4500 :good:
Thanks man, i have been searching for ages for prestigio drivers, they just never wanted to be installed by windows itself. Root system worked for Prestigio multiphone PAP5430.
I'm looking to get this phone (5300) for a family member. Is this rooting method good to go for this phone, I ask as only the 4500 version has feedback.
Are there any ROMs available once rooted?
What custom recovery is available?

smash'n
Many thanks!:good:
what about prestigio pap5503
haw do i root prestigio multiphone pap5503
I note that in a previous thread about VROOT 1.60, malware was found and the SuperUser app would connect suspiciously to an address in China.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434453
VROOT 1.60 is not available from the link in this thread so perhaps that's a good thing.
Does anyone know of another root method for this phone?
...doesn't fare well for trusting Chinese phones and software in future!
Hello, I recently got xperia play, and decided to root my phone for better performance. Just for fun went to youtube and found this:
Then I remenbered this page, and just found few threads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240285 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312859.
My phone specs:

}
If I am correct, according to first thread above, I cant root my device and second one is saying that I cant install JB on my device.
AAAAAAAAND... Im totaly confused now and dont know what to do.
Can you be more clear on what exactly are you trying to achieve?
if you wanna root your phone you must enable "unknown sources" inside applications and also under developing you must enable "USB Debuging".
Then plug your phone in the usb while it's turned on normally and execute the run-me in the zerg rush files.
after that you can install rom manager and get a recovery going on,
when you do have a recovery going on you can use it to flash a new rom.

Ok, I rooted my device, what is rom manager? CM10?
In this thread you will be guided to install a recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840
It's basically install the apk ask the apk to install a recovery and you're done.
Now you will have theability to boot into recovery mode.
To do so you have to keep pressing volume down as you turn on your device.
You will then be able to proceed to installing custom roms.
You might also wanna research for flashtools from there on.
Hi, I am reading whole day forum, but cannot find the solution, please help me guys.
My story:
I was made succesfull root, than i putted TWRP recovery, made a backup, and full wipe, than i realize, that i forgot to load CM11 rom... So i restarted device, enter TWRP, and make a restore of backup...
After that, there was no KindleFire blue logo...
After reboot, the device just show static orange kindlefire logo...and that is all.
Only thing I can do - is to enter * using CMD line * to the fastboot mode.
Now i am trying to restore kindle using KFFirstaide - but i get errors because of that there is no files to download from dropbox...

also tried SRT ( I am confused, which is the best/last version of this software ?) , and it looks like it works, something was loaded, but after that, still have static logo, nothing more..
Is there any hope ?
HELP
ok, finally
i manage to push system, recovery and reboot via KFHD System.img Recovery Tool
I run the device with 8.4.1, and i manage to check , that device is still rooted ( via rootchecker ).
After that, i try to again push the twrp into the kindle, doing as it was last time, by the fire flash, but after that - i had no TWRP, and again - I stuck on the kindle fire logo...
What is wrong ?
I'm guessing you forgot to check something off in fireflash like apply stack override.
Sent from my Amazon Tate using Tapatalk
