3. Put on root of SD card
4. Boot phone into HBOOT

I was able to upgrade to 1.28 by :
1)Restoring stock backup that I had done a nandroid of
2) downloading the OTA update file and renaming to update.zip
3) booted into custom recovery
( note: I did NOT lock my bootloader or flash stock recovery )
4) flashed the update.zip as a normal zip install
5) rebooted and the update had taken place
Then to be able to restore my previous custom Rom
6) re-flashed using fastboot the custom recovery and did an erase cache
7)rebooted into recovery twice ( the first time I tried to reboot into recovery I still didn't have custom recovery )
8) restored my custom rom backup
There is NO DOUBT at all that prior to the OTA update that the radio had NOT been fully updated since despite the ROM reporting updated baseband my reception was no different, but after the update there was a clear improvement in reception and battery life - I have no way to prove this but I'm very sure that this is the case
Hope this helps someone

I managed to update to 1.28 finally...
My CID was none, so i had to:
1) fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img (original boot img from RUU)
2) fastboot flash system system.img (original system img from RUU, it failed though)
3) fastboot clear cache
4) fastboot flash recovery endeavoru_recovery_signed.img
5) fastboot oem lock
6) Then Run 1.26 RUU
7) Boot and installed OTA via system update.
Now have to unlock again...

I take no responsibility for any brick. I don't do any major changes just deleted a few lines from script. If it will not work, its not my fault, its your device/HTC's fault.

[TOOL] Flash ota upgrade with clockworkmod recovery

I would like to share with you a modified OTA script HTC_Europe_1.29.401.7 to be flashed with clockworkmod recovery.
installation:
•download link
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/72778206/OT...1.28.401.9_release_259295wbmgoi0p47wgsfl6.zip
•push the zip on your sdcard
•check md 5
•flash through recovery
If the improvements also work for you please hit the thanks button.
PLEASE THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE
Flashing this on custom rom can give big issues flash only on nandroid backup of stock rom
N.B.
If you have a OTA, Download OTA zip from one-x and copy to PC, edit the zip file META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script , Delete line >
assert(check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"), "00000000" , "11111111" ,

what makes it different than normal updates? can it be flashed on phones that are network branded/locked for example?
Can it update radio?
just tried to flash it, it failed, so im not sure what this will do or whats modified about it.
Hm, im sceptical about this, could be malware?

No you can flash only on unlocked phone with custom recovery. No mallware! This is original file where i delete only some script that verify CID.
For me this OTA this file don't update also radio but only system file. Is for user that wan't new radio
hi,
now I'm with ARHD 5.0 can flash directly your zip and then reinstall ARHD ?
or need to go back to stock rom ?
tks for help
@jonata ARHD as same effect on system file so no flash this file. If you search radio on hboot you can see that radio is not upgrade even if mike tell yes.
this file is for people that do't want new radio but only new system file on 1.28 base
to use this you need to have the stocks files (those which will be updated) from 1.28 rom (and the ROM in place has to be the one for this OTA).
As the ASSERT are still in the update-script you have to be sure also that you have all the files which will be updated.
@acer73, you should tell for which device rom is this OTA 1.28.401.9 ?
allHello i did thé steps all ok except now I lost the recovery ....

Sorry, but this file can't overwrite recovery. You can flash with fastboot cmw recovery o run cmw recovery putting cwm_recvovery. imf in a directory with fastboot and use this command (can you create a .bat file)
fastboot.exe boot cwm_recovery.img
fastboot reboot
If you want you can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620755 to automate process.
good luck
U should give more info..
This is NOT for Everyone..
Flashing this on custom rom can give big issues
@ vallandil. Thanks I edit first post
Super!!! Thx
if this is a modded "original" OTA update, it should only work on 1.28 odexed roms...
not custom deodexed ones.

[Q] Downgrade DHD using AAHK

Hello ,
i bought my DHD few days ago , it is shipped with the last GB update , Android version 2.3.5 , Sense 3.0 , software number 3.13.415.2 ...
i know how bad that looks , cuz rooting the GB shipped dhd seems to be pain in the ass ...
i started to look for it before making a new thread, i found 2 solutions , AAHK and HTC DEV TOOL .
starting with htc dev tool , i read that it has many disadvantages , and a lot of custom roms wont be able to be flashed after using this method in rooting , so i decided to choose the AAHK which seems much better , but i faced a major problem , the downgrading of the dhd ...
i started to root using AAHK , did every thing was written in the notes ,disabling av , installing drivers , usb debugging ....etc
1- connected the phone
2- pasted the password
3- pressed 1 to start hacking
4- i was asked to downgrade , i chose yes
here comes the problem , cuz the aahk started trying to download the PD98IMG , it completes 20 try then stops .
i took the link of the PD98IMG , and downloaded it myself , its a zip file sized about 256 mb ... i put it in the file that has the same name in the kit , and started over again , nothing happened .... pasted it to the sd card and started again , nothing happened also , and the kit tries always to download the PD98IMG with no result .....
did i make any mistake ?
did i miss a step ?
any help will be appreciated , thanks in advance

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I use adb to flash the PD98IMG, you ve to be patient it will take a while for yr phone to reboot then use the AAHK again and you should be fine. You will be s off. I wanted touch recovery so i had to do another simple flash to get eng s off before i could use adb to flash the img otherwise i keep getting errors. Good luck:good

You have to set adb up on your pc first since you don't even know what it is follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424671 and understand it before you continue otherwise you may brick your phone.

That is incorrect. The Hack Kit installs adb and fastboot the first time you run it, so you don't have to do it.
If the PD98IMG.zip file is in your SDCARD and you are not prompted to update in the phone, then your sdcard is not working as a goldcard due to being corrupted.
Use a new one or a different one that is not corrupted and you will be good to go.

Once you have yr adb set up put the PD98IMG.zip file (the one that AAHK downloaded 256mb).
Open yr cmd and put yr ph in fastboot mode and connect to pc.
without quotes "fastboot oem rebootRUU, you will see yr ph in black screen with HTC logo then type "fastboot flash zip PD98IMG.zip"
It will take quite a long time to finish the process so be patient, wait for yr ph to reboot, thats it u r done. Hope it works out for u.
:good:
Edit: since u ve not use adb before maybe it is easier for u if you go to the HTCdev unlock bootloader and download the sdk setup following the instructions from there.
Bingo
thanks a lot for all of you , the problem was in downloading the downgrade image as i told you , it was due to some internet proscription here , i used a proxy changing program and every thing went like a charm then .....
my DHD is finally rooted and s-off'ed :victory:
thanks again
what about proxy settings, is somewhere GB2.zip? as i cannot dowload anywhere and from kid it gets error 404

Is there any way to downgrade a 2.3.5 DHD then, or am I stuck with sense ?
Can we download the the zip file somewhere and copy it manually, or would that not work for some reason ?
If not, what is the best (if there is any) alternate method ?

It has nothing to do with cleverness. Search and read. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515. If it's too much work don't do it; just stay with stock.

[SOLVED] HTC One X cannot update after getting back to Stock ROM

Hey guys,
I have been lurking around the forums for sometime now and I could not find the solution to my problem so I hope someone will be able to help me.
My HTC One X (cid : HTC__203) was rooted and I tried a few ROMS before deciding to sell it before getting the upcoming HTC One.
I used the RUU to flash the original ROM I bought the phone with. I've found the file using this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660807
Current phone version is :
Now the phone issue is that Android updates cannot be installed. OTA is working, updates are detected and downloaded :
If I just say Intall now, the phone restarts with CWM (v5.8.4.0) and says it cannot mount the SD card. So I just go to Install zip from sdcard and open the file from the download folder. Then it goes :
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package ...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
So I toggle off both signature verification and get a new error about script asserts :
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update ...
assert failed: check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"), "00000000" , "11111111" .... (same pattern to 9 then comes some CID numbers where my phone one is listed)
, "HTC__001" ............... , "HTC__203" , .... , "HTC__016") == "t"
E: Error in /sdcard/Download/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_and_blablabla.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
From there I don't know what to do. I tried to download and install the last RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed
But it fails as well :
My knowledge of phone tweaking does not go further and I don't know what to do to update my phone and make sure next updates will work.
Thanks for reading and for your help.
Re: HTC One X cannot update after getting back to Stock ROM
You cant update via a custom recovery !
Download this file
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Read carefully :
Put the phone in the bootloader and relock it
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the bootloader and then click the ruu with the right mouse button and select :
"Run as administrator"
This will bring it back to stock.
What is the outcome of
Fastboot getvar version-main
Edit : i cant see the pictures very well, they are small and get blurry when i zoom them

Ok well that helps a lot. I'll try and install the stock recovery. So from what I understand, every time I'll want to install OTA updates, I'll just have to switch back to stock recovery, install the update and then reinstall CWM if I need it ?
Thanks for the info
Re: HTC One X cannot update after getting back to Stock ROM
Yeah you need stock rom, kernel and recovery to be able to perform an official htc ota

i am on stock rom 4.0.3 with stock recovery and everything is stock except i unlocked my phone using htcdev
now i want a OTA from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606676
i got the right one which is orang216 and my cid is orang216(via fastboot oem readcid)
but after following the instruction there i can't install it i always get cid error at start i also tried deleting this line from updater-script
Code:
assert(check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"), "00000000" , "11111111" ,
"22222222" , "33333333" , "44444444" , "55555555" , "66666666" ,
"77777777" , "88888888" , "99999999" ,
"ORANG216") == "t");
but no luck still same cid error
btw it should be noted i am not in switzerland but in bangladesh and my carrier will NEVER auto OTA my phone
so plzzzzzzz helppppppp :crying:
Are you sure you followed every step from that thread?
From that thread:
How to Install OTA:
1. Download OTA file
2. Rename it 'update.zip' (not update.zip.zip)
3. Put on root of SD card
4. Boot phone into HBOOT
5. Select recovery
6. Select Update from Zip
7. Select 'install update.zip from SD card'
8. Press power to select

Yes, that's because the steps mentioned there are for CWM recovery AFAIK...
Which recovery do you have? If you have twrp then the steps are similar... in TWRP window there must be something named as "flash update" under install zip from sd... I haven't used TWRP much so can't tell you exactly...

Just head over to that thread and follow matt's steps with the link I had given...

Do the following command : fastboot erase cache... and then try to reboot... if it still stuck on the HTC logo, then it's time to flash a rom..
I'm not able to find any nandroid backup for your CID,,, if your want to go stock post your upgraded 'version-main' so that we can check whether there's a RUU for you or not...
Either that or you can flash a custom ROM! Which one do you want to go with? stock or custom rom? Please tell us so that we can guide you from this point..
