p.s. Please use notepad ++

what makes it different than normal updates? can it be flashed on phones that are network branded/locked for example?

Can it update radio?

just tried to flash it, it failed, so im not sure what this will do or whats modified about it.

Hm, im sceptical about this, could be malware?

No you can flash only on unlocked phone with custom recovery. No mallware! This is original file where i delete only some script that verify CID.
For me this OTA this file don't update also radio but only system file. Is for user that wan't new radio

hi,
now I'm with ARHD 5.0 can flash directly your zip and then reinstall ARHD ?
or need to go back to stock rom ?
tks for help

@jonata ARHD as same effect on system file so no flash this file. If you search radio on hboot you can see that radio is not upgrade even if mike tell yes.
this file is for people that do't want new radio but only new system file on 1.28 base

to use this you need to have the stocks files (those which will be updated) from 1.28 rom (and the ROM in place has to be the one for this OTA).
As the ASSERT are still in the update-script you have to be sure also that you have all the files which will be updated.
@acer73, you should tell for which device rom is this OTA 1.28.401.9 ?

allHello i did thé steps all ok except now I lost the recovery ....
I clear cash flash again interim and nothing
Help please

What if I want to update my radio as well?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

DONT INSTALL IT IF YOU HAVE A CUSTOM ROM RUNNING, THIS MAY CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE BOOT.IMG.

Sorry, but this file can't overwrite recovery. You can flash with fastboot cmw recovery o run cmw recovery putting cwm_recvovery. imf in a directory with fastboot and use this command (can you create a .bat file)
fastboot.exe boot cwm_recovery.img
fastboot reboot
If you want you can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620755 to automate process.
good luck

U should give more info..
This is NOT for Everyone..
Flashing this on custom rom can give big issues

@ vallandil. Thanks I edit first post

Super!!! Thx

if this is a modded "original" OTA update, it should only work on 1.28 odexed roms...
not custom deodexed ones.

Help please, New with HTC

I come from the SGAce forums where flashing is just download-and-flash method and now I wanna try the HTC One X and use ARHD Rom (used it on my friend's Gnexus) And I really don't know what to do! It's just too complicated for me
My bootloader is already unlocked and it's only a test phone I borrowed cause I'm not sure what to buy yet
If anyone can help Here as well as ow to flash the rom and the .bat file
THANK YOU A LOT
First you need unlock bootloader to flash custom recovery. Follow this guide for example how to do it.
After recovery, make a backup of your current rom.
After backup, download ARHD 5.1.0 and superwipe script to your sdcard, after you got them both flash boot.img from ARHD thread. (Download this & run "install-boot.bat") This is mandatory because without S-OFF one can't flash boot.img from recovery, and without boot.img flashed one can't boot their device or it won't work properly.
Then to the basic flashing process, boot to recovery and flash superwipe script and afterwards flash ARHD and you're good to go!
BTW, you don't need to flash firmware files

[Q] Install Android Revolution HD HTC One X

Hi, i´m just new on Android. The HTC One X is my first Smartphone and i want to install the Android Revolution HD 6.0 rom. I know this: First i need unlocked via Htcdev and install SuperSU. That is clear for me.
But in the instruction for ARHD 6.0 says, that i need to flash the boot.img of the rom first and then install the rom. In the tutorial are 3 files: ARHD 6.0 - ARHD super wipe and flash_boot_6.0.0. In the last find a READ ME: I need to run the install-boot-windows.bat and then install the ARHD in Recovery.
That is where i´m confused.
Must i the boot.img of the ARHD One X 6.0.0 flash or run the intall-boot-windows.bat. Or both?
I know, are many tutorials but i have this problem and it´s my first time with Android and ROMS.
BTW i´ve install the last OTA (1.29.401.11), i live in germany and my phone ist unbranded. There is a problem with this. Must i have the 1.28.401.9?

Yes you do need it and it needs to be flashed prior to flashing the rom. Simply open the zip file once its downloaded, put your phone into fastboot-usb and run the install-windows.bat file. The boot.img file is then automatically flashed.
The boot.img is packaged in the zip/rar file, which contains a batch file that somewhat automates the boot flash. So, the boot.img and the flash boot 6.0 are one and the same step.
Yea you need it.
But you don't flash it using CWR, instead you unzip on your pc and run the script for your OS. In windows its a bat file that flashes the boot.img to your phone
EDIT: hehe need to learn to reload the site before replying =P

Don't be panic . Just goto fastboot and flash the respective boot.img for the Rom you have flashed.
First erase the cache and flash the boot.img

It is wise to save the OTA.zip somwhere before you proceed the updating process. The stock boot & recovery img inside the firmware.zip inside the OTA.zip will helps you later on if the updating process is stuck in between.
And importantly, make a nandroid backup for the newly updated software version in case you need to revert to stock and there is no RUU available.
Now you just have to flash stock recovery

As you said, you already have a CWM recovery, then you need a stock recovery flashed first. The next question is which stock recovery ? The one that listed on that thread is 1.56 version which is meant for hboot 1.16. So check what is you hboot now ? If it is still 1.16, then you can use that recovery. If it is 1.17, you need a 1.58 or 2.09 recovery.

thank you so much,my software number is 2.09.720.1 so which recovery file should i download?
thank you.
There is none for 2.09.720.1 available in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748684
So the best bet that I can suggest is save the OTA.zip as I mentioned earlier and use the recovery that comes with the OTA.
Or you can try 2.09.707.1 that I posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30809441&postcount=11 but not so sure whether it will work or not but it should.

[Q] Update to 3.14.161.27 (4.1.1)

Hi there,
i dont know what to do...
I have a german htc one x from Vodafone.
I tried TWRP and CWM Recovery to install the new Update to 3.14.161.27 but i always get "Error 7" and the installation aborts.
System info:
Adroid: 4.0.4
Software: 2.17.161.4
CID: VODAP102
HBOOT: 1.12.0000
Recovery: TWRP 5.8.4.0
Can you help me and tell me how to fix my Problem.
King regards
Peter
What do you mean, are you on stock rom and tried to do the official update with the custom recovery ?
If you have 100% stock rom, stock boot.img and stock recovery you can update
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
Flash this one and try again. Keep the bootloader unlocked .... Its no problem
I tried your Recovery but it didnt worked..
I have stock rom, stock recovery (now) and i think i have stock boot.img.
if my boot.img is the prob how can i change it?
i used the Hasoon200 tool to root my phone nothing else was done
very big thanks for your help
If you are really sure you have the nandroid backup of your original stock rom the stock boot.img should be inside that nandroid backup folder !
If you made any changes to the stock rom like deleting system apps or any other bloatware then the update will also fail

You have an option to upgrade to jellybean ! Flash the firmware the unofficial way , your cid is supported and after flashing the firmware you have the updated hboot to flash JB roms
I give you the link in a minute
---------- Post added at 11:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:06 PM ----------
Here you can download the firmware matching your cid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376

But after that you are stuck to a custom rom......
ok very big thanks, i will think about it and i will see what i do tomorrow...
but very very big thanks for the fast help... i remeber for me : "never delete system apps you idiot"
Yeah well .... To late now
Here i have the firmware flasher , you have to download the firmware in the first link i gave you and this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
Has the tool where you have to put the firmware in.
Don't ask me how this works exactly, never done this myself but read the OP of the threads really carefully !
Wohoo its working
I have found my system backup recovered it and the update works
big thanks for your help,... I would never have come to a missing system app

now i want a OTA from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606676
i got the right one which is orang216 and my cid is orang216(via fastboot oem readcid)
but after following the instruction there i can't install it i always get cid error at start i also tried deleting this line from updater-script
Code:
assert(check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"), "00000000" , "11111111" ,
"22222222" , "33333333" , "44444444" , "55555555" , "66666666" ,
"77777777" , "88888888" , "99999999" ,

but no luck still same cid error
btw it should be noted i am not in switzerland but in bangladesh and my carrier will NEVER auto OTA my phone
so plzzzzzzz helppppppp :crying:

Yes, that's because the steps mentioned there are for CWM recovery AFAIK...
Which recovery do you have? If you have twrp then the steps are similar... in TWRP window there must be something named as "flash update" under install zip from sd... I haven't used TWRP much so can't tell you exactly...

Do the following command : fastboot erase cache... and then try to reboot... if it still stuck on the HTC logo, then it's time to flash a rom..
I'm not able to find any nandroid backup for your CID,,, if your want to go stock post your upgraded 'version-main' so that we can check whether there's a RUU for you or not...
Either that or you can flash a custom ROM! Which one do you want to go with? stock or custom rom? Please tell us so that we can guide you from this point..
